Just had to vent. My bro was being very gracious and was going to let me get a studio at BLT for the marathon weekend so I could stay there and use the monorail to get to epcot in the AM, just easier. Well we didnt think about it right at the 11 months, so no std views are available but lake views are.. takes 38 points. and he has 37 lol.. And doesnt have any available to borrow at this point... So I grabbed sat night for at least the marathon. and waitlisted for a std view for friday night. at seven months if still available will see about buying one point.. But just makes you want to kick something when one point short lol.. Thanks for listening to me vent

That's why DVC came up with the 24 or 25 points yearly additional point purchase. It's available to all members for purchase at $15 per point.

I've been that person, short 2 points with nothing left to borrow and that was before this new point purchase option! Now, you can purchase as many points as you need up to the 24 or 25 point yearly limit right at the time the reservation is made! MS connects you , in a 3 way conversation, sells you the points, paying by credit card and transfers them instantly into your account so that the MS rep can complete your reservation.

Call him back and go for it! 1 point $15 dollars!

You are describing the one time use points available only at the 7 month window.

The OP is trying to make a reservation for next January, so she is still in the home resort priority booking period. The OTU points are not an option for her right now.

Oh yes!! In that position right now. Wanted to book BCV 11/30 to 12/5 which was actually available when I went to book, however I was ONE point short I then tried for 12/1 to 12/6 which would be the exact number of points I have to use, but no availability for 12/5.I booked 12/1 to 12/5 and waitlisted 12/5, but no results yet. I only have SSR points I can borrow, but can't use those till 7 months out. I'm sure by the time 7 months out is here the 11/30 night will also not be available. Here's hoping for some Pixie dust to come my way

I've seen pleas for 2-4 point transfers, or offers of same every now and then. That's something to try. I don't have BLT points so can't help.

Yea, but where do you do that? The only place I know you can advertise in the rent / trade area and we arent renting, and dont have any points to trade, so dont think I can do more then 'vent' about it and maybe someone feel sorry and reach out..

At this exact point, that's fine. At 7 months if the lake view is still available we'll get the one point and make it happen.. if not I'll just have to see if the WL comes thru on the std view..

Nope. It's just some of us don't read - the text under your screen name was right there under our noses, LOL.

FWIW, I think you will be able to get lake view at 7 months, assuming you call as soon as the window opens. Sounds like you think the location is worth a few extra points, anyway, so good luck!

Yes, the location ie: blt IMO will be a bit easier for transportation to the race start, or so I've heard. I'm sure the buses would be just as good. The other reason is a more personal one, I'm going to have lots of family down, some of them staying with us at AKL, and I just want to have the best chance of getting some rest and basically will need to worry about me and not what is going on with everyone else.
