just a tinnnnnny bit of a vent if I may. So as most of you know (because I have a big mouth) I got the D90 today. I charged the battery and popped it in and turned it on. I saw that there were some settings I had to play around with (date, time, the usual) and began packing the camera back up since I didn't have the time at work to do all of this. As I'm packing, my boss walks over and sees the camera and asks to hold it because they are thinking of purchasing a dSLR. I said sure thinking "c'mon---I think I can trust someone to hold the camera." I turn away to check some e-mail when I hear the dreaded "uh oh" come from her mouth. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Don't worry, nothing serious happened. :goodvibes

She had turned on the camera and started randomly pressing buttons and apparently did something she shouldn't have. No biggie---but hello---it's someone else's new camera, you have no idea even where the "select" button is...so why, oh WHY would you start pressing other buttons and such???? :headache:

Sometimes I wonder about people...:confused3

I know exactly what you mean. These are my little toys and I baby every single one of them. I trust my wife and son but if something happens to them then it's "MY FAULT". If I let you use them and they break then it's "MY FAULT", I shouldn't have let you use it.
Years ago, I had a real good friend decided to use one of my golf clubs while at the driving range. He didn't ask, so I had to watch him like a hawk! Those clubs at that time were my babies. Don't even ask to use my putter! That was my money club!!!
My cameras are my new babies and they need lots of love! They get plenty of attention from me!!! They have a very nice home/bag to live in where it's nice and SAFE. NOW DON'T TOUCH AND GO AWAY!
So now you kinda know how strange I really am.

I know what you mean too. If someone I knew just got a new camera like that I would lust from afar over it because I would not want to responsible for anything should something stupid happen while its in my hands. Especially if the owner did not even get a chance to snap the shutter yet. Even though I have a new D300 my D40 is safely tucked away for now as a back up and its still my "baby". I think the only person I would trust with either of my cameras is my son and then I would still be nervous until it was safely back home. Hope nothing is wrong with the camera and you get to set it up and at least try it out this evening.

I h8 it when people play with stuff they shouldent be (I live with my younger sister!!) lol:lmao:
