Don't Want Valet Parking

If I had reservations about having the car valet parked - I would self park. For whatever reason - whether it be cost or concern over the vehicle. It's not an excrutiating distance to walk and it certainly will save money (even if that is not the main consideration). Also, you can certainly pull up to the porte cachere and request a bellman to help with luggage (or just unload it yourself - although I highly recommend requesting help) - then still self-park. I'm not sure about all aspects of valet charges and DVC membership - the only thing I am positive about is that if you are a DVC member and staying at a DVC resort - valet parking is free. I treat Disney valet as I do any other valet service - I usually tip 2 or 3 dollars when I pick up my vehicle (nothing when I drop it). The only exception is if the weather is horrid - then I tip a bit more.

Ok, so all worries aside. I think that if unload and then self park I will save money since I don't plan on moving it for the time we are there. You are right Ducklite.

What if you leave (say to get groceries), is is 6.00 each time you go and come back or still for a day? Sorry about dumb question, but we've never used valet parking before

Lowkat, I'd self park if you're concerned about the $$. The valets are excellent and I wouldn't worry about how they treat your vehicle they are trained by Mickey...what more can I say!!

It's a flat fee of $6 per day, whether you need the car seven times or it sits there for 24 hours. You would, however, need to tip the valet for additional moves - $1-2 is considered "standard."

When you arrive at a deluxe resort to check in do they offer to valet park it ? do valet parked cars get put in a seperate car park from normal ? We are staying at our first deluxe in September
