Don't understand the open house situation with Oceaneers Club

DS will be 3 1/2 on our cruise, potty trained. How do the open house hours work with the club? I see on some navigators that there are times there are open house hours in the club, but scheduled activities in the lab, or vice versa. Can I take DS to an open house in the lab if there are scheduled activities in the club? I've tried to read up, but I'm just not getting how this open house thing is supposed to work. We are happy to have times when we can be with DS and play without having to drop him off (that was a major issue on another cruise line), but I find it confusing and inadequately explained on the DCL site.

'Open House' refers to blocks of time when they don't have secured programing and anyone with a child can come in to play or do one of the organized activities. You must attend the club with your child during these times. This was nice for us because our daughter was not yet 3 and not able to be registered to go to the clubs.

Usually when the club or lab has open house, the other will have secured programming as to not create a situation where there is no secured area for young kids and parents that have reservations to do other adult activities.

If your child is over 3 AND potty trained then you can register him for the programming and/or go during open house hours. Hope this helps some!

The times when it is open house, you can accompany your child to that club. The kids who are not with their parents and are signed in will be with Disney staff at the other club. So if you drop them off, they will be secure where no other adults, cruisers are allowed to be at that time. If you want to be with him, then you would go to the club that has open house hours at that time.

Actually, during Open House, anyone with or without kids is allowed inside. That's the time for adults that may not have kids to be able to into the kids areas and see what they are like.

Anyone is allowed in during Open House times and secured programming is going on in the other area where kids can be dropped off. My DS6 finally figured out the ins and outs of the system and would beg to go to whichever space had secured programming during open house times so that he didn't have his younger brother tagging along since he wasn't potty trained yet. Not exactly the best sentiment but since it was about day 6 of our 8 day cruise before he figured it out, I just let it go and checked him in and then played with our younger DS in the other space. It won't work next time because that will be far enough in the future that DS will be potty trained by then.
