Don't touch that! I need a picture first! TR - **NEW 04/17 PTR IS UP

Hi there. I found your report through a link (that doesn't work by the way) from LL's TR.

This sounds like it will be fun to read the trip report of you and your sister's Disney adventure. It's always exciting to find someone new and see Disney World in a different perspective.

Ugh - that room in New York sounded horrible. :scared: It just made it that much nicer to walk into the Caribbean!

Hope to see an update soon. :surfweb:

I picked up Bubba from work around 10pm but before we could be on our way, we had to go back home because Bubba couldn't find her USD money. I'm pretty patient when it comes to people I like so Bubba was lucky...
I'm detecting a hint of sarcasm in there somewhere. :)
We went back to the house and she disappeared inside for at least 10 minutes. I feared she had fallen down the stairs or something. I swear I think of the worst case scenario whenever we have somewhere to be.
Not to mention guilt from being impatient.... :rolleyes1
They were using the body x-ray scanners at security which was rather odd. My body felt violated after that
You should see the pictures on the internet......
And we were on the mini-monorail to the main terminal to get our bags and pick up the car.
You and Rosie with your having to catch Mono when you head to Disney!!! :rotfl:
I was in love with the bedspreads! I was very tempted to take them home with me....

:woohoo: for Hidden Mickeys!!!
Well, of course....you wouldn't keep looking after you found it, would you??? :confused3 :rotfl2:
:sad2: There's one in every crowd! Well, maybe more than one in THIS crowd! :lmao:
I haven't gotten violated by those yet, but I can't wait.
Interesting........ :rolleyes1
Glad Florida was konder to you than Buffalo !!! What a difference in hotels from one night to the next !!!
konder? I thought those were endangered species??? :)
Huh, that's what Judy says all the time.
Nobody would know the consequences better.........

I might not get to my full review before you leave So I'll give you a little sneak preview. I loved the rooms. They were amazing and fresh looking. The distance to the main building was about a 5 min walk from our building. I can't say anything about the buses because we rented a car. We would see a lot of people waiting most of the time. I would leave lots of time when going to/from CBR with the buses. The pools were really nice too! I hope you have a great time!!!

Thanks, that helps. We are on the dining plan and will definitely have to make our reservations.

Which link was this? And if it didn't work, how did you find me??? Glad you found your way here.

So true! I really enjoy reading other people's adventures, especially when they have children. The characters always act differently around them.

Ugh - that room in New York sounded horrible. :scared: It just made it that much nicer to walk into the Caribbean!

It definitely wasn't the Taj Majal. In this instance we had to be cheap but in the future I might just spend the extra $20-$30 to get a much nicer room.

Hope to see an update soon. :surfweb:

I'm gonna try and update tonight. :thumbsup2

No.... how'd you think that? :rolleyes1

I'd never forgive myself.

Okay now I'm curious

You and Rosie with your having to catch Mono when you head to Disney!!! :rotfl:

We love to catch the Mono :rotfl2:

:woohoo: for Hidden Mickeys!!!

Like the one the body scanners found? ;)

Thanks, that helps. We are on the dining plan and will definitely have to make our reservations.

Oh for sure. With free dining the more popular restaurants are always fully booked *cough*cough*coughLeCelliercough*cough*cough*

We left the new comforts of our corner room to explore CBR.

It was a gorgeous day. At least 88F :cloud9: Thank goodness we were able to change into our slightly larger Floridian clothing....in fact, speaking of which, I was wearing one of my Bambi t-shirts and as Bubba and I were posing for a picture, this guy came up to me and said he liked my shirt and wanted to know where I got it. Apparently his niece (or similar relative) really liked Bambi and he had been looking all over for a nice t-shirt. I had to break the bad news to him that I got the shirt in February. If it's one thing Disney does, is cycle out it's Bambi stuff real fast!

The first thing I wanted to do was walk to Old Port Royale to see just how long it really takes. The most common complaint I hear about CBR is the length of time it takes to walk anywhere. So off we went on our walk!

These lizards were everywhere

Thankfully none of them ever got into our room!

This was around the time that guy came up to me and commented on my shirt

CBR was such a picturesque place. You can really grasp the scale of the resort when you're walking across the bridge towards Caribbean Cay.

2my7sif.jpg

The pathway was under construction so they made you walk allllll the way around on this diversion pathway. I swear it added at least 2 min to our walk. But seriously, if we hadn't stopped to take so many pictures, it would be about a 5-6 min walk from the door to our room to the door of Old Port Royale.

Bubba wanted to check out the main pool before heading inside. I wanted to check out the bar

Even though I could have, I behaved until our dinner at Le Cellier :rolleyes1

We headed inside to browse the shops and see if Shutters and the main eating area was as I remembered it. As soon as we walked in, Bubba found the perfect birthday present for my step-dad.

2h7nejm.jpg

It's just right for a 60-year-old, wouldn't you say?

I also found a few things I'd be picking up later but we had just got there so I didn't want to spend my money all in one place. There was so much more to see! Once we were done looking around in the store, we checked out the food court area.

A lot of this I didn't remember. I know we ate at Shutters during our last stay here in 2005. I'm sure the menu has changed considerably since then. I remember ordering some tofu dish which was kinda gross. That wasn't on the menu anymore! Probably for the best. I'd really like to know what area of the Caribbean this area is representing. Jamaica maybe? All the theming made me want to take a trip to the Caribbean. I've only been to the Western Caribbean but find the Eastern Caribbean to be so much more intriguing. Perhaps a Disney Cruise is in order to visit those islands. Ah, a girl can dream can't she?

Finished with all my picture taking, we decided to head back to our room to get ready for our dinner at Le Cellier. Our reservation was for 5:30pm. We took some more scenery pictures along the way.

You might be waiting in vain. I may not have that update until Sunday night...
We are definitely still on for December 18th! I've already started saving up for our little shopping spree :thumbsup2 How close to the border do you live Rosie?

Great I have put in for the day off but will be on call !!! I live VERY close to the border !!!The middle bridge is about 3/4 mile from my house !!Rainbow and Lewiston are further !!ou can come over the Whirlpool bridge ( middle one ) it may be less crowded , not sure anymore !!The outlet mall is on Military Road, which is not far either !!!What time are you thinking of !!!I have a feeling my DGDs will also want to come , they LOVE the Mall !!!

Hey at my age I am lucky to catch anything !!!:rotfl2:

As for KONDER I must have Danitis !!!:lmao: Definition a cross between Kind and a Kon artist!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Or were you referring to me as an endangered spcies !!!!:confused3:laughing:

Oddly, I was just researching about the Carribean last night, as DH and I want to take a couples trip sometime soon. I looked at Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados and Trinidad/Tobago. I don't even know where to start!!!!! Hmmm.... need to PM you about where you went and how you liked it.

ANyway, Doesn't sound like CBR is too terribly large or daunting to get around. I'd really like to stay there someday.

Glad you thought it best to stay able to get to Le Cel. (and saved room for that ice wine I know you're going to get!)

Now I know why you chose "Dark Orchid" as your font colour for this TR: it matches the CBR buildings!! :rotfl:

Lovely picture tour of the resort! Doing more resort hopping is one of the things I want to do on my next trip. I have been to all of the deluxes, mainly for dining purposes, but the other resorts are interesting as well! :goodvibes

Okay now I'm curious
That was one of the concerns from "rights" groups when they announced using the body scanners. The TSA agents would save certain images and be able to post them for the world to see!!! Only a matter of time, maybe......
Like the one the body scanners found? ;)
No the ones slightly hidden in the picture of the blanket, in the green leaves. :thumbsup2

Wonder how many times he's used THAT line before??? Niece? Yeah right!!!:sad2:

Some beautiful pictures! Looks like a really nice resort!
Bubba wanted to check out the main pool before heading inside. I wanted to check out the bar
Nothing wrong with combining both.......a drink from the bar while sitting out by the pool!!! :yay:
It's just right for a 60-year-old, wouldn't you say?
My favorite Muppet characters for sure!!! They are so sarcastic that I'm not really sure what the appeal is though...... :rolleyes1
Hey at my age I am lucky to catch anything !!!:rotfl2:
Must.....bite......tongue....must.....bite.....tongue........

MAN that hurts!!! :rotfl:
As for KONDER I must have Danitis !!!:lmao: Definition a cross between Kind and a Kon artist!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Or were you referring to me as an endangered spcies !!!!:confused3:laughing:
Meant the bird, but wasn't intending it to be that YOU are an endangered species............this time!
The resort looks gorgeous !!! I love the T Shirt for step dad!!!
Step Dad? I thought she was getting that for you when you guys have your meet and shop??? ;)

Love your Bambi shirt!
You took a lot of great pics of CBR resort, I need to steal them for my TR....;)

That's great! Bubba really looks forward to seeing you again. DGDs? Sorry Rosie I'm out of the loop on that one :confused3 I can't believe how close you live! Well.... if you can call 2.5 hours away close  Well at any rate you're the closest DIS buddy. I think Glenn comes in at a close second.

The resort looks gorgeous !!! I love the T Shirt for step dad!!!

He really liked it too. It was PERFECT for him.

Depends on what kind of vacation you're looking for. All of those destinations are very different in their own way. Aruba is the only island outside of the hurricane belt so if you're planning on going during hurricane season, that's a safe bet :thumbsup2 I've been to Belize City, Roatan, and Costa Maya in the Western Caribbean on a cruise. I didn't find any of those particularly interesting or safe for that matter. I would much rather see the Eastern Caribbean. St Lucia is especially high on my list because of how lush and tropical rainforesty it is.

ANyway, Doesn't sound like CBR is too terribly large or daunting to get around. I'd really like to stay there someday.

It would be a great resort for a long jog! I hope you can give it a try and let me know what you think :goodvibes

Glad you thought it best to stay able to get to Le Cel. (and saved room for that ice wine I know you're going to get!)

How did you know?! :rolleyes1

Now I know why you chose "Dark Orchid" as your font colour for this TR: it matches the CBR buildings!! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, I didn't even notice----I mean, yeah! That was my plan all along! :rotfl:

Lovely picture tour of the resort! Doing more resort hopping is one of the things I want to do on my next trip. I have been to all of the deluxes, mainly for dining purposes, but the other resorts are interesting as well! :goodvibes

I find the moderate/value resorts are the least likely to resort hop to because they're only accessible by bus. Deluxe resorts on the monorail are just a hop, skip and a jump away.

Thanks for the little tour around CBR Jenbear!

There was tons more of the resort to see but just didn't have time to walk all around to the different areas.

This is a great picture! I like how you framed it. :thumbsup2

Thanks! It actually turned out much better than I thought. Looks like I don't need a fancy smancy camera after all :p

That was one of the concerns from "rights" groups when they announced using the body scanners. The TSA agents would save certain images and be able to post them for the world to see!!! Only a matter of time, maybe......

You're joking right? I hope they don't save those images!!!

No the ones slightly hidden in the picture of the blanket, in the green leaves. :thumbsup2

Yes, yes. I saw those. Although, didn't notice them until you pointed them out.

Wonder how many times he's used THAT line before??? Niece? Yeah right!!!:sad2:

:rotfl:

Some beautiful pictures! Looks like a really nice resort!

CBR was much nicer than I remember it. I wish we could've spent more time...always the way with a Disney trip.

Nothing wrong with combining both.......a drink from the bar while sitting out by the pool!!! :yay:

I don't do that often enough. Next time I will fix this.

My favorite Muppet characters for sure!!! They are so sarcastic that I'm not really sure what the appeal is though...... :rolleyes1

Gee I wonder

Must.....bite......tongue....must.....bite.....tongue........

MAN that hurts!!! :rotfl:

Oh just spit it out! Now I want to know what you were going to say

Love your Bambi shirt!
You took a lot of great pics of CBR resort, I need to steal them for my TR....;)

I felt like I didn't take nearly enough that I wanted to. There's always so much to take in. Glad you liked the pictures--but no stealing! ;)

Bubba found the perfect birthday present for my step-dad

I love it. I love the Muppets. I can never remember those characters names, but they had great one-liners. (So, did you hit the bar?)

Marv I thought you might say I am one of a kind as in endangered species Naah you're Marv!!!:lmao::lmao:

I'm here and subbed ofcourse! Going back to catch up.

Ok, all caught up. Good thing I wasn't THAT behind.

I HATE driving in the pouring rain at night. What's worse are the inconsiderate jerks on the road that drive faster than everyone else is, just to make it more dangerous for the rest of us by making those BLINDING splashes!

The CN tower has those body scanners that "sniff" you? It blows spurts of air on you and you can NEVER prepare for those.

I think it's SO COOL that there's a place called "Grimbsy" in Ontario. I wanted to take a picture of the sign, but I was busy being stuck in traffic at the time.....

When did you guys check in at CBR? It's awesome that a room was ready for you so soon and that you got exactly what you wanted!

I love those little lizard things. We spent a good 15+ mins just watching them and videotaping and taking pictures when we saw them at AKL.

It's nice you were able to explore your resort a bit when you got there. I kept meaning to do that on my trip but just never found the time for it! We were either too busy, too tired, or too eager to get somewhere.

Me neither but they sure are funny! Sometimes they are SO mean in what they say. You gotta have a good sense of humor for those guys. I never did get over to the bar... but alcohol still made an appearance!

I'm here and subbed ofcourse! Going back to catch up.

Yay! Glad to have you here :goodvibes

I don't know what those people are thinking. Do they think they are invincible? Especially when they drive those big SUVs and a huge tidal wave splashes over your car!!

The CN tower has those body scanners that "sniff" you? It blows spurts of air on you and you can NEVER prepare for those.

Seriously? It's been a while since I've been inside the CN tower. Weird how they sniff you

I think it's SO COOL that there's a place called "Grimbsy" in Ontario. I wanted to take a picture of the sign, but I was busy being stuck in traffic at the time.....

How come? Does the name remind you of something? My grandma used to live there so the name is familiar to me.

When did you guys check in at CBR? It's awesome that a room was ready for you so soon and that you got exactly what you wanted!

I think it was around 2pm. I was over the moon that we got a room exactly where I wanted!

I love those little lizard things. We spent a good 15+ mins just watching them and videotaping and taking pictures when we saw them at AKL.

I want to take one home. That would go over well....

It's nice you were able to explore your resort a bit when you got there. I kept meaning to do that on my trip but just never found the time for it! We were either too busy, too tired, or too eager to get somewhere.

So true. Many of my trips (especially when I stayed at CSR) we have no time to even enjoy our resort. It's just a place to sleep, that's it! Next time I stay at a Deluxe resort, I'm definitely scheduling a full day to soak up the resort.
