Don't Rely Solely on the Waitlists to Make the Magic Happen for You!

Just got off the phone w. MS and wanted to tell everyone my story. Had booked three nights at BLT for cash awhile back for a trip next month b/c no rooms were available for points. Had two waitlists, one for each night I needed. Nevertheless, I called MS daily, sometimes 3-4 times a day, to see if my desired rooms were available for points.

ANYWAY... a few weeks back, got one of my desired nights upon calling MS and just got my last needed night for points, again by calling MS! :banana::cool1::banana:

I don't know if the end result would have been the same or not had I just relied on the waitlist, but for those who can do it, persistence w. MS can pay off!!

I agree! I just posted this in another thread but today I was able to get a room for Sun and Mon at BLT just by calling them several times a day to see if anything had opened up.

I can now say that I have the number to Member service and MY member number memorized now! :rotfl2:
 
Thanks for the info. I was wondering if my once per day calls were getting to be an annoyance to MS, but now I'm going to step it up....
 

Given that the cost of those multiple calls are shared by all members, I wouldn't be surprised to see a "member enhancement" limiting the number of calls to Member Services without an additional charge. Or the toll free number being discontinued, as it was a few years ago for cash guests.

Thanks for the info... we are waitlisted for BLT for Oct and have been checking online for details every couple of days but no changes. I am debating whether I should use my TRUMP card. Had tons of issues last year and after an email of discourse, I spoke with "Chad" . Chad gave his direct phone line, hopefully he is still employed there, and it is time to see if he can make sure my next trip was smooth like he said he would.

Any thoughts... and send some pixie dust.:wizard:

Of course, if the automated waitlist system worked liked it was supposed to.... :confused3
