Awww..... thanks Carey. :flower3:

Wasn't that fishy Ariel photo a riot? That was completely Ariel's idea. All of a sudden at the end she just said "Let's make a face like a fish!". I just about died laughing! :rotfl:

I'm so glad you were along on our trip! :goodvibes

I'd be happy to add a few more things. I've done some scrapbook pages and can share those, but man, I have a TON left to do. Fortunately I'll have Disney scrapbook pages to do for a long long time! And that's a good thing!

I have a question. Kadence just went through your lastest photos and she really wants to meet the Fairy Godmother. We had 8:10 ADR in the Castle on our last full Park day (Sat, Sept 24th)
If we were out and about by 9ish, where do we find her and how long does she stay out?

Man, you're getting SO close! It's just NEXT month! :dance3: Sorry though, too many dancing bananas to start that yet........

Fairy Godmother meets behind the castle over near the Castle Couture shop (where you can go inside and get the post-BBB photo shoot). She is there off and on between 9:15 and 1:15. You HAVE to tell her Katie and Janet say hi and will see her in December again! :dance3:

Hi Janet,

Catching up on yout TR is a perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday. Your amazing costumes and fabulous pictures continue to impress me.

Sorry I have been MIA and some of my comments are from old posts. Don't feel the need to respond to them

1. You have so many incredible pics of your princess. There are just too many to comment on individually. You did an awesome job capturing so much!

2. That blue and white snow white costumer is AMAZING. You are a master :worship:

3. That is a fantastic picture that you posted of Pop from just outside your room on 12/18. :thumbsup2 Great capture of the colors.

4. Great work in all your pics of AK. Loved the EE fog shots. Thank you for the lesson on EE in the rain.

5. Great pics of two of the best shows on Disney property (Nemo and FOLK). Glad to see you gained an appreciation for Nemo.

6. It is cool to see the Big cheese and Minnie decked out in their Holiday garb at AK. Thank you for sharing.

7. I also am not much of a daytime parade person but I just love the colors in the AK parade. You also did a great job capturing that as well.

8. I am curious what you thought of the food at Chef Mickey's. The character experience is always great but the food...meh...just not doing it for me lately.

9. The night pics at pop after Chef Mickey's are great!!

10. Great departure day pics. Even on your last day you have all these fantastic costumes to pull out of your bag of tricks. The Ariel pics are especially precious. :thumbsup2

I sure agree with that BOO thing!

We loved both Mickeys too, but MAN, they were SPACE HOGS! We ended up carrying that Mickey along with us the entire way home. Each step of the way we ate a little more Disney popcorn until eventually all traces of Disney were gone............. I hear they also sell ghost Mickey popcorn buckets at Halloween. I think we're going to have to take a chance on fall next year just to get one of those!

I saw the ghost ones last year didn't get one though.. In the outlet stores as well they had park popcorn buckets for 1 dollar but they didn't have the ghost

:sad1: I return home to sadness, my favorite princess TR is OVER!

What a wonderful TR thank you so much for sharing Janet, I really enjoyed getting to know you and your daughter you are a very lucky mom she is absolutely wonderful :cloud9:

Thank you! The photography is an outlet for my desire to freeze time with the kids. I love having so many images to go back to and scrapbook when I feel nostalgic.

2. That blue and white snow white costumer is AMAZING. You are a master :worship:

Many thanks! :goodvibes I can already picture her wearing it with the dwarfs at the party. I'm even considering breaking out my Evil Queen costume this year........ just for the photo.

3. That is a fantastic picture that you posted of Pop from just outside your room on 12/18. :thumbsup2 Great capture of the colors.

4. Great work in all your pics of AK. Loved the EE fog shots. Thank you for the lesson on EE in the rain.

LOL! I hope you don't have to use your newfound "AK in the rain" skills! As "interesting" as the rain was....... I'd like a little sun next time!

5. Great pics of two of the best shows on Disney property (Nemo and FOLK). Glad to see you gained an appreciation for Nemo.

Dory gets me through some tough days........... Just keep swimming.........

6. It is cool to see the Big cheese and Minnie decked out in their Holiday garb at AK. Thank you for sharing.

Isn't it odd that they come out in holiday wear in AK of all places, but nowhere else until the week before Christmas? I'm toying with giving up AK this trip for a shot at WWoHP at IOA, but then I'd miss my Christmas Character shots. Maybe I can squeeze in half a day still.........

7. I also am not much of a daytime parade person but I just love the colors in the AK parade. You also did a great job capturing that as well.

It is a great parade visually. But if we only get half a day this time, I think we'll be good with missing it.

8. I am curious what you thought of the food at Chef Mickey's. The character experience is always great but the food...meh...just not doing it for me lately.

It didn't strike me as great or terrible, so I guess "unremarkable" would be the word. I'd probably prefer breakfast there, but it just doesn't fit our touring style. To be honest, we go more out of tradition than anything else.

9. The night pics at pop after Chef Mickey's are great!!

Thanks. That last night is always so sad.......

10. Great departure day pics. Even on your last day you have all these fantastic costumes to pull out of your bag of tricks. The Ariel pics are especially precious. :thumbsup2

LOL! I usually have something up my sleeve. I use every day we're at a park so I can just take one or two things each day and it's not a big deal. We DID have to carry Ariel and the Queen costumes home with us on the plane in our carry-on........ not to mention the hoop skirt....... but they all scrunch up pretty well. That red dot bag was stuffed full for us that day.

Thanks for all the kind comments throughout the TR! I'm woefully behind on yours again and can't wait to catch up. I am quite confident I will find great photographic inspiration there for our December trip!

I saw the ghost ones last year didn't get one though.. In the outlet stores as well they had park popcorn buckets for 1 dollar but they didn't have the ghost

I wish I had the ghost one too. But the honest truth is that Snowman Mickey didn't get caught in the Christmas packing after the holiday, so he's been floating around the house ever since. I think Katie even put Mickey's top hat on the cat one day......it's the perfect size! :thumbsup2

:sad1: I return home to sadness, my favorite princess TR is OVER!

What a wonderful TR thank you so much for sharing Janet, I really enjoyed getting to know you and your daughter you are a very lucky mom she is absolutely wonderful :cloud9:

What an absolutely sweet thing to say! I'm so glad you came a long on our journey. I can't wait to read about all your adventures this summer! Keep in touch so maybe we can meet for real this December. Keep an eye out for my red Minnie dot bag!

= ( Sorry to see this trip report come to an end gave me ideas for my upcoming trip. I hope you go again soon and share a trip report with = )

Thank you so much! :goodvibes I hope you have a great trip. And honestly, I really enjoyed doing this trip report, so I'll probably do one after our December trip again. Feel free to come back and post a link if you do a trip report of your own!

Ugh, there is absolutely nothing worse than your last day at Disney. But Katie looked beautiful as ever!

The pictures of Katie and Ariel made me misty eyed as Ariel is my favorite character EVER.

And that Queen of Hearts costume is amazing! I would totally wear that and I'm 24!

Well, let me know how it goes when you do start Cindy. I didn't see all the photos of the Disboutique Runway. I need to get over there and take a peek!

I'll let you know if I come across any fabric that would work for an Ariel's Grotto dress. But it took several years to find the one I used. BTW...... there are photos of Katie's coming up in an update soon........

I hear you on not being able to sew much. It's hard when you work all day and have a little one, and don't you have another one on the way? If so, then I'm amazed if you're even upright by the end of the night!

So sad it's ending!! But you leave soonish so I'm sure there will be more!!

I hope to start on the Cindy soon. I know how I am going to do it in my head...we'll see how it goes in actuality!! The only thing I am back and forth on are the peplums. I don't know if I want to do them the "regular" way, or do them like Cindy has in the parks..where they look like they have rows of "fluff" in them or something?? You know? I think that would be doable, but I don't know!

LOVE the Ariel dress! It's just so pretty. And I love the capes you make for your daughter as well. One of the first things I made my little one was a velvet fur lined cape. I think it would still fit her, just need to clean the velvet. It's red velvet and white fluff, so I worry about bleeding.

And, yep I'm preggers. But even though I was crazy exhausted the first trimester and got NO sewing done, I am finally doing better and can sew til midnight or so!! I've got 2 customs finished for our October trip, and 2 I'm reusing. A long list more, but should get finished! The disboutique runway keeps "getting in the way", but luckily both work for our trip so far!

Question:
For the place you go to get BBB pics. Can anyone go in and do this? I don't think we'll do BBB, but I'd like to get nice pics in Cindy if we could. I'm going to preorder the CD will they put the pics on there?

Thanks!!

I'm so sad the report is over! I think I'll go back through it with Maddie though :) I just LOVE that Ariel dress - it looks like it was a wonderful meet and greet with her. That final picture from the train station is amazing!

It was sad even just WRITING about that last day! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the kind comments on the Queen costume. Katie loved it too because it's more grown-up looking. She's kicking around maybe having a jester costume from that same pattern for Halloween this year........... although I fully expect that to change a few dozen times before then!

We love Ariel too and can't wait for her new ride to open!

I have tried to do peplums like the Cindy in parks, but just haven't figured out how to do it. I do think those rows are padded or something, but I just can't get it down. The ones from the winter Cindy I did for this trip were pleated. I generally do a "puff" design on my Cindy gowns now. It's not really similar to Cindy at the parks, but I do think it's very similar to the Cindy gown in the movie. I'm really not fond of the peplums on the current Cindy pattern in the Simplicity book. It tends to poof out too much at the top. The cut of that pattern just seems a little off.

Well, congratulations on getting past the first trimester. It's been a while for me, but I do still remember just how draining that was. I hope you're feeling well and energized for your October trip!

Thanks!!

My understanding is that anyone can go into the BBB photo studio. I think they make priority for the BBB girls, but they can do you in between and just have them added to your photopass.

Like I tell everyone else though, I do think they are sort of hit and miss. Some know what they're doing (photography-wise) and some don't. Half of the photos they took of Katie had the upper rim of her glasses cutting her eyes in half. That's something they should have noticed. But take plenty of shots yourself out in front of the castle and elsewhere around Fantasyland. Will you be there before park opening at all? Those shots with an empty Main Street are priceless!

Unless we make any more changes (you know........ AGAIN!) we'll be there the 10th to the 18th. What are your dates? I'm thinking we overlap and it would be great to meet!

I can't wait to go check out your Yellowstone photos!

OK, I haven't read the entire thing....... but took a quick look at the outstanding photos! I do love Yellowstone. I'm glad you got to see Castle Geyser. I thought it was SO much more impressive than Old Faithful. I always get up before my family and since we stayed at Old Faithful Inn, I took an early morning walk on our trip. I was treated to a private show. When it erupted, there wasn't another soul around. They started gathering soon after, but I still consider that my own private showing. :goodvibes

Oh........... and I did read far enough to catch your SURPRISE!! YEAH! :dance3: and congratulations! :cool1:

I can't wait to go check out your Yellowstone photos!

We are there the 11 - 17 so not as long but right in between, when you get a schedule put together would should compare and see where we over lap :surfweb:

-Wowza! That Christmas tree is GORGEOUS!!!!
-I've never seen Alice with a coat! Neat!
-I am, as always, in love with Katie's costume! Can you adopt me??
-Great shot of the teacups! I will conquer that shot on my next trip!
-Loving the teacup shots with Katie! I cannot go on that ride....ever again! I went when I was 5 and they had to stop the ride because I got sick :( I love all of the colors of the teacups and the theming though!
-Love the dress in the castle couture window! So pretty!
-Love Katie's Haunted Mansion outfit! I actually am getting ready to place an order for those mickey ears at the Disney Store!
-How sweet that you both got certificates! I want one :)
-Wow! Katie's Ariel dress is stunning! Ariel is my favorite princess!
-I LOVE It's A Small World! When me and my brother went for our first trip together he was 6 months old. I asked my mom if I could take him on one ride and she said yes. I was such a proud sister! I carried him onto the ride and sat him on my lap and he fell in love with the ride! My grandparents had to take him on the ride continuously for the next three hours because as soon as they went to get off he started crying :( Now, he's going to be 14....and I love spending time with him on IASW!
-Sadly, i've only been on dumbo twice.....and they were both when I was 5 and 6 :o Next trip I'm going to have to ride it again!
-It's always so sad to end a trip :( But, you had another trip 6 months after, so I bet it wasn't as bad! I'm now headed over to read that tr! Thanks for all of the wonderful pictures!!!!

Just enough time for a brief post. Timmy and Katie started school today. Robbie starts college next Wednesday, so life is pretty insane for now.......

We are there the 11 - 17 so not as long but right in between, when you get a schedule put together would should compare and see where we over lap :surfweb:

That would be cool! Since I'm not completely settled yet, I won't post my days. The first 2 days are pretty set though. We're doing MK Sunday the 11th and staying for the party and doing Epcot the 12th. After that, it all falls apart! :lmao:

-Wowza! That Christmas tree is GORGEOUS!!!!

Don't they do a great job with ALL their trees at Disney? :goodvibes

-I've never seen Alice with a coat! Neat!

I love seeing the characters in their winter wear too. Sad life that I lead, I was excited to meet Cindy in her winter jacket too! :rotfl:

-I am, as always, in love with Katie's costume! Can you adopt me??

I have to tell you, after getting 3 kids ready for school, I'm gonna have to pass. But I appreciate the sentment! :goodvibes

-Great shot of the teacups! I will conquer that shot on my next trip!

Thanks! The teacups are a great photo op for playing with shutter speed. Take a look at that shot again. There's a small break between 2 of the teacups....... and you can just make out Alice and the white rabbit signing autographs. I wish I could say I did that on purpose......... We'll call that a happy accident!

-Loving the teacup shots with Katie! I cannot go on that ride....ever again! I went when I was 5 and they had to stop the ride because I got sick :( I love all of the colors of the teacups and the theming though!

There really just are some people who can't do spinny rides. Thankfully I'm not one of them. You would NOT want to ride with me! I can spin AND take photos at the same time!

-Love the dress in the castle couture window! So pretty!

I can't belive we missed it up until our last day!

-Love Katie's Haunted Mansion outfit! I actually am getting ready to place an order for those mickey ears at the Disney Store!

Those are fun ears. I'm sure you'll love them!

-How sweet that you both got certificates! I want one :)

It was just so unexpected that it was really fun!

-Wow! Katie's Ariel dress is stunning! Ariel is my favorite princess!

Thank you! She was certainly a lot of fun.

What a great Small World memory you have. And I think it's great you still like to spend time with him. :goodvibes

-Sadly, i've only been on dumbo twice.....and they were both when I was 5 and 6 :o Next trip I'm going to have to ride it again!

Shame on you! I hope it's still in its current location for you to ride one last time before the move!

-It's always so sad to end a trip :( But, you had another trip 6 months after, so I bet it wasn't as bad! I'm now headed over to read that tr! Thanks for all of the wonderful pictures!!!!

Actually that other trip report was from June 2010, so happened 6 months before this one. But December isn't far away and we'll be back. And you guys all made this so fun, I bet I'll do another trip report!

I wish I had the ghost one too. But the honest truth is that Snowman Mickey didn't get caught in the Christmas packing after the holiday, so he's been floating around the house ever since. I think Katie even put Mickey's top hat on the cat one day......it's the perfect size! :thumbsup2

I love it.. Sounds like something I would do to the small dog who loves me for the things I make him wear :rotfl:
