Sadly, when I called Drc this morning I found that there were rooms available at the poly. I asked my kids what they wanted to do and they said either place was fine. I mulled it over and Dh really had his heart set on poly and he works hard all year for us to take this wonderful trip. So I make the switch, pay the difference and tell the kids. Ds13 is now mad at me for switching. I just can't win. So I guess I need to be removed from bog list. :-(. It's been nice planning with all of you and hearing all of your reports.

Where else could someone be apprehensive about staying at the Poly other than the Y&BC thread. Go enjoy the Poly. It's (another) one of our favorites!

So the lounge does close for a time to prepare for the next offering..but you can still get drinks... Does it stay open after the evening desserts are finished just for lounging?? I not only want my beverages..I want to lounge in the lounge too...LOL...

Yes, you can lounge in the lounge late. There's just no food (but sometimes they do leave some pretzels and stuff out). We've gone to the lounge in the wee hours to spread out, or read a book without bothering travel mates. And the previous coffee/espresso Nescafe machine was always on -- not sure with switch to Joffrey's if that will change. I hope they have a similar one. Unlimited espresso at 2am can be awesome.

BREAKING NEWS!!! (August 16, 2013)

CMs at the Yacht and Beach Club have been told that all defective refrigerators have been swapped out at both resorts. All rooms should now have a working fridge.

It looks like September guests of the Beach Club, Yacht Club and probably BCV will be involved in testing of the Fast Pass Plus system by logging in to their My Disney Experience accounts. For info, start reading around page 215 of this thread.

The Rapid Refill Reusable Mugs have not appeared at the resort as of mid-August, but the RFID-enabled dispensers have been set up, so this program will probably be starting soon. Possibly by the end of the month. For more info about the Rapid Refill Mugs, read the post in the FAQ section of this page, Post 13.

Can I just say I'm loving this FP+ more than I thought I would!! I just went in and got FP+ on our 1st MK day for BTMRR, Journey under the Sea, Splash, and HM (bonus), as well as a lunch at BOG. Then I did Soarin, TT, and Illuminations (have Soarin and TT in the a.m. then we can go back early afternoon to swim and pop over that night for preferred viewing of Illuminations!

Did you arrange your fastpass+ reservations before your trip? I have reserved all of mine (from home-I check in on Sept. 3), but I was only able to sign up for 3 per day. Also, lunch at BOG was not included in the options, although I was really hoping it would be. Do you, or does anyone know how to make this happen??

Some things I will post as 'facts': (always a little hesitant to post 'facts')

1. You can have a shared balcony at Beach Club. Not sure about 4 or 5 rooms though. From page 1 FAQ.

Almost all of the rooms at the Yacht Club have a full balcony. A few rooms have extra large balconies that may be shared with another room.
About 50% of the rooms at the Beach Club have full balconies with a table and two chairs. The remaining 50% have standing or "Juliet" balconies.

If you are staying at the Beach Club and a full balcony is important to you, you should have "Full balcony, please" as your first or only request.

When you check-in at the desk, ask about your balcony and if you are not happy with it, ask if there is a full balcony available. CMs will try their best to satisfy you. Don't do the advanced online check-in. This is for guests who will just pickup their key and go, no questions asked and is not designed for people who may request changes to their assigned room.

Think ground floor patio rooms. Can always see into those if curtains left open.

2.) There is no guarantee of a daybed. If all the rooms that have a daybed are taken you will be provided a rollaway at no charge. Not sure why CM's get this wrong.

3.) Key problem crosses other resorts and is a pain in the rear. We have experienced this at BLT, SSR and BCV's. Best setup was at BLT where they had an entry door with keyed access and could check the key right there. We had to make 3 or 4 trips to SSR lobby (a loooooong way) to get that one straightened out. I completely understand Simbas frustration.

Re number 2 above, does this apply to BC and YC? For my own purposes, I'm interested in YC. Thanks for your help!

YC rooms: almost every room has full balcony (or patio first floor).

The shared balcony is just an oddity of a couple of rooms over the entrance -- you are so unlikely (statistically) to get one of those rooms (although I have ) that I would say it is not worth the effort of a request trying to avoid it.

If you hate your room, they will try to move you if they have another room in your category. They want you to be happy.

For what it's worth, we ended up loving that giant "shared" balcony -- we were the only people ever on it.

Edit: okay, time to leave work as I can no longer follow along...the question was about daybeds, not balconies!

Yes i arranged it all from home - we dont arrive for another 29 days! The FP+ for BOG was done via a separate link i found here on the boards - i can try to repost once i can get to my computer but pretty sure it was on a Theme Park thread w/title "Any September guests get FP invite" or something close to that

The wonderful IT CM looked at our reservation, mentioned yes we are testers and was able to customize our Magic Bands for us. She said they should arrive at our home Monday or Tuesday. Good luck.

We customized ours this morning! We noticed we could make fp+ selections earlier in the week so we started messing around and realized we had some ticket mix ups. I called and spoke to a really nice CM and I asked if they were rolling out another test. She said she wasn't 100% sure in the most joking tone ever and suggested we customize our bands "just in case" we get an official email inviting us to the test......well we just got our official email this afternoon. This is going to be an interesting trip

In Toronto airport! Waiting 2+ more hours to board our flight. All hands tired but super-excited!!! They know their friends will be there tomorrow and are so excited to surprise their friends tomorrow. They know they are going, and told our kids, so no chance of the double lobby surprise. I'm actually relieved - it's so exhausting keeping these secrets! LOL
