Don't Post Here!!! New 2013 Beach & Yacht Club FAQ Started

Just wanted to read and maybe post some questions in the resort thread.

We were able to get Beach Club booked during the November free dining period, originally were thinking of POFQ or POR, after staying at FQ in Dec 2011, but with such limited availability for the moderates on this, we decided to go for it.

Couple of questions for those who may have stayed at BC during the fall/holiday free dining periods in years past, did anyone get bounce back offers? and if so what period did it cover?

We are looking to make our WDW visits an annual passage with a summer disneyland trip in the middle and wanted to see what our flexibility would be on such an offer, or if we would just be better off doing a Nov/Dec reservation and switching if any better offers came out.

Cheers and counting the Days!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for November.

:cool1:

Right now, I think the bounce back offers only go to the end of this year. I'm not sure when they will switch over to dates for next year. Some have said in recent posts that December guests in different resorts have received bounce backs for the following year in the past.

Are the bouncebacks for YC/BC always room only discounts, or have people seen free dining for these resorts?

Well, just knowing that you tried it once AND are going back has me feeling more comfortable about it!!! If you didn't like it you'd never go back, right?

I personally like the decor, theming, and compactness of WL better than BC

BC standard rooms are bigger, SAB crushes the WL pool
WL has a better store and has RF
BC has HH and BnC
Walk to Epcot, boat to HS vs boat to MK

Very tough call for me. I think I prefer WL but very close

Dee, I did overhear a manager speaking to other CMs about upcoming RFID mug training but no dates yet
I think I intruded by asking about dates...

The countdown for this vacation seemed to be dragging, but now we are 6 days out and I feel like there's not enough time! So much to do at work, shopping, packing, and getting ready for back to school...phew!

But now, I'm mostly nervous hoping my family love the YC! We usually stay at, and love, POR. My family loves the peaceful tranquility and walks around the resort.

I'm really hoping everyone likes my decision to stay here this year- we got a deal that made the YC cheaper than POR...how could I say no to that?

Maybe I should be more worried that they're really going to like it and want us to stay there next time! ;)

We start our first family Disney vacation at the Beach Club in just over a month, and I've found this thread to be invaluable. What a great community of Disney and Yacht and Beach Club enthusiasts! :thumbsup2

I've gotten a few key questions answered by you all, and I'm hoping you can help me out again. We're going to get the free Dining Plan with the Resort Drink Refills. Where, exactly, can you refill your drinks?

It sounds like:
- Ale and Compass
- Beach Club Marketplace
- Hurricane Hanna's

Is there anywhere else? I was thinking there might be free standing refill stations in some part of the hotel, but maybe they need to have RFID enabled to allow for that?

Just asking because I likes my morning coffee, and I don't think the 2 pods shown in the recent photos (THANKS FOR THOSE!) are going to do it for me.

that is exactly what you should be worried about!!!

Sit back, relax and get ready for a wonderful time!! Your quiet walks around POR will be replaced by a relaxing walk around the Boardwalk, sitting out on the porch or balcony, strolling over to EPCOT for a tasty treat, etc.

Wow, busy weekend since I didn't get on my computer much at all!

I'm sitting here this morning paying down my balance with gift cards. Under $1000 left. Hoping a large portion of that will be taken care of with a RO discount when time rolls around! :goodvibes

I thought I asked this question before, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll try again...

In the AM, if DH and I want to make it over to DHS for rope drop, are we better off walking or taking Friendship boats? Do the boats even run that early? (Non EMH day).

Whoohoo 6 days and counting, i've just got my photobucket account

I always take the boat. I know some prefer the walk, but it is a very long walk!! And after all the walking in the parks, I need the boat ride to relax my legs :lmao:

We did the boats, too. They were fine. Nice way to see the Swalphin

We are leaving in 34 days, and I just talked my hubby into letting me change from the Poly to the Beach Club. We do the Poly every year and he LOVES it, so I'm hoping the Beach Club will not disappoint! Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

We leave in a few weeks. This will be DS3's third trip to WDW, but first at BCV. We haven't told him yet. I think he will love the pool and sandcastle building area.

Since he is not able to swim yet, should I bring a life jacket for him? I know they have them at the pool, but I just wonder how readily available they are. Any input would be helpful.

We have only one ADR for the trip, at our favorite Cape May Cafe for dinner. May have to try breakfast there sometime as well.

Any tips/suggestions for things to do at BCV with little kids? Is there a playground? TIA!

Hi all!
I just wanted to thank you all for (1) being so very nice. I constantly see people freaking out around here about some strange things. I appreciate you putting up with us newbies! (2) Thank for you for all the time you have spent putting together theses FAQ and threads. Mother and I are off on a girl's week Sept. 13-21 with our very first stay at BC... or any Deluxe for that matter! I am so excited!!!!

Now, I have to ask, what exactly is in a Sunken Treasure? I saw a photo and decided that is the beginning of my vacation. :worship:

Thanks all for the info on the boats! I would much prefer to take a boat to save my feet and from the elements if they happen upon our trip (which they USUALLY do!)

Do they usually cancel the friendship boats if the weather forecast predicts rain? We are quite used to swift walks going for miles at a time so walking to DHS wouldn't bother us but it might be an inconvenience to others.

Managed to pick up sone spending money today for our son and found a cute little candy store in town that stock american candies and sodas, what a nice surprise for our son to see those sweets!

Been cleaning the house today ready for the weekend, I know it's daft but I hate to come home to housework. Must pack the cases soon too and pick up the last bits and pieces. Checked the train lines there are no scheduled maintenance work plans to disrupt our journey to the airport and no changes to our flights either which is good.
Loving the photos of the merchandise so thanks to those of you who took the time to post them.

Got to get some repair work done on our chimney when we get back ( long story) trying not to think about it ,we have a builder organised to start work once we return but the neighbours and their housing association don't want to talk about the situation so ... It will have to be done no matter what.

So roll on one week's time we will be on our way to some relaxation and good times.
