Unfortunately with corn, as you probably know, unless its really really fresh, it just doesn't do well. Tomatoes are easier ... they stay good for a while!!

I live 45-60 minutes away from WDW. Since I only work two days a week at the most, it's an okay drive. If anybody brings tomatoes or corn and arrives a day I'm not working, please let me know in advance and I'll drive in for sure to get them. I'd be glad to pay you for them of course!!!!

As of this moment, I have no trips planned for September. However, we are hoping to perhaps book the Disney Fantasy for the week 9/21-28. I have to see how much money is left in our fun account after Jeanne and Princess Lily are here for two weeks in early August. We are finding that a Princess is very high maintenance.

Teena -Hoping we will have some Maryland Tomatoes to bring you in September. Lots of tomatoes this year with all of the rain, will see if my plants last until September. And of course Tastykakes!

However, it looks like we might miss you as DH and I will be at YC September 17-22. Can't believe it has been 3 years since our last visit to Disney and Y&BC.

It's been exactly a year since we were at Beach Club, and at Disney, for the first time. We loved BC last year and everything else. Besides the shortened EMHs (I think?), anything else I should know that has changed? When any of you have done lunch/dinner at downtown Disney, how long did it take you from BC, and how easy is it to find a parking space? I can't walk long distances in the heat, like from BC to the Boardwalk or Epcot restaurants, and am hoping that driving to eat downtown for a couple of meals would be better for me. Thank you ... you were all wonderful, and right on the money, for me last year!

Since you will have your car and you are looking for some nice restaurants for meals that involved very little walking, I suggest you book some meals at resorts where you can drive and park and the parking lots are a short distance away. Ones that I recommend are Wilderness Lodge (my favorite restaurant is there - Artist Point), the Poly, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West. Parking at Downtown Disney, especially in the evening, can be really hard and you might have to really walk far to get to the restaurant that you want to go to.

Oh no!!!! Keep in touch. Don't know for sure if we'll be doing that cruise or not and I can always drive in to see you. It's been way too long!!!!!!!!

No such luck with the discounted rate to upgrade to CL tonight! I'm not sure what we're going to do for breakfasts yet as I was counting on a fridge for quick "cereal and fruit then out the door" breakfasts. We're not big dry cereal bar fans. There are standard view CL rooms available, though. Now I just have to figure out how to get us into one less expensively, seeing as the traditional 14th anniversary gift evidently isn't a hotel upgrade.

Soooooo behind on this thread, but I had to comment on this. Saw on BOG that we'll be at the YC at the same time...we just celebrated our 14th this summer and have 2 daughters who are 11 and 9. :)

Now is this the Magical Express just arriving to the resort or is this the Magical DEPRESS snatching people up and dragging them back to the airport???

Wow natebenma ........thats a long flight, lol :rotfl:

Enjoy your trip, and safe travels !

Syndrome

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Good one!

With Dee's luck she probably HAD to book a flight that took her to 3 foreign countries AND Canada before she would finally arrive at MCO. The portal to Universal Studios would have been MUCH easier!

Happy anniversary to you too! That is so funny! Did you get a hotel upgrade for your anniversary present? :) I'm still trying.... :)

Greetings from BC!

We made it! I had about one hour of sleep in the car, two cans of Cherry Pepsi and a 5 hour energy shot. No coffee for this gal! 19.5 hours sitting in a car and 4 tanks of gas got us here!

We checked in about an hour ago. The CL desks were both busy so we checked-in downstairs. No Magic Bands for us.....we received the gold cards. Every CM we've encountered has been bending over backwards for us.

Our room is facing the driveway and entrance...in fact our room I'd directly above the doors. Get this...we have a daybed AND a full balcony. We hit the jackpot!

We've already been down to the CL lounge and snacked on chips, cookies, pretzels and fruit. They brought me a Bud Light but I'm too darn tired to drink it. If it were a Sunken Treasure, it would be a different story! Now it's time for this tired mom to take a nap before heading down to SAB. We have dinner reservations at Cape May Cafe then plan on heading to Epcot to try the new Test Track. Woo hoo!

I'll post pictures when my brain is clear enough to figure out how to do it from my iPhone.

Hope y'all are having a magical day! I know I am!

I forgot to add...we have a working fridge in our room. Not one word was mentioned by any CM about the fridge issue, nor was there a letter in our room.

As I'm laying here, I realized my adrenaline has kicked in gear and I'm too excited to sleep! I'm going to unpack then head down to SAB. I'll be all Ninja-like while looking for an unattended chair without personal belongings.....

Glad all is going good so far. When you are at HH's bar, can you check for me to see if the ahi tuna is available as a quick service meal under the dining plan? Appreciate it!

Just printed out our boarding passes, and all stuff is packed for me and the 2 kids! :goodvibes

By this time tomorrow, we should be all checked in at our off-property hotel. Having more than a bit of angst about staying off-property for the first time. If it were up to me and the kids, we'd be going directly to BC. *sigh* But I'm still going to be at Disney, right? :rolleyes2

We are looking forward to trying out the water parks on Tuesday and Wednesday. What is everyone's preference: Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? We have a day devoted to each, but I'm thinking we'll prefer TL. Nothing about the ski resort theming really does it for me. But I think I'm really going to like the tropical theme (and more shade) at TL.

Hey, maybe we'll run into you at TL on Tuesday! I haven't been to either WP yet, so I may not be much help. As an old Florida girl, I love the idea of BB, but we ended up picking TL because (1) it looks like it might not be quite as "thrill" oriented as BB, (2) looks like it will have more shade, and most important, (3) mama (me) wants to swim with the sharks! :cool1:

Your reasons are all the same as mine! I am NOT a thrill seeker (though my DS13 is), and TL looks more mellow and relaxing. The kids and I are all pasty-white people who burst into flames and then freckle, and they kids both want to swim with the sharks in the reef. I might do that one...we'll have to see.

If I could remember how the heck to post a pic, I'd put one here so people who will be at BC or the parks could say hey, but I've completely forgotten. :confused3

Tough call. We really like them both. It's hard to pick a favorite since the theming is so different at each and done beautifully. If I had to choose... eek... TL. I love their wave pool. And the tropical theme does go nicely with a Florida vacation.

Have fun!!!

Typhoon Lagoon by a long shot. I thought the slides were better, the wave pool a ton of fun(but you have to be a great swimmer), and I thought the theme was executed better.

I've got a BC question!! Has anybody asked or answered the question of whether that ahi tuna at HH's bar can be purchased as a quick service meal for lunch if you are on the dining plan? That will be Jeanne's choice every day we are at SAB if it is. However, if it's not a quick service option, I'm not even going to tell her about it.

I'll check for you and get back to you!

I've read bunches of blog posts comparing the two, most of which say the same thing about the theming. Thanks for weighing in!

None of the meals served from the bar at HH are part of the dining plan. I asked a bartender. :-)
