Been lurking for awhile, have found lots of great information for our upcoming visit. But still have a couple of questions:

We will be using the DDP with mugs, a previous post said that the "Ale and Compass Lounge in the Yacht Club resort (coffee/tea self-service, juices and soda behind the bar, until 12 Noon for mug refill"

Do you know what kind of juices you can request to fill mug? My kids do not drink soda. What about milk?

Also, we will be stopping at grocery store for some snacks and water before we arrive. I have checked in online already with an estimated arrival time of noon, as we will be arriving before official check in: If my room is ready before 3, will I get a text? Or do I have to check in that I am early? I plan on picking up some refrigerator items and don't want them to spoil waiting for my room.

Thanks!

I am also curious about the mugs. We don't drink soda either, wondering what other options there may be.

Coffee, tea, cocoa
The Marketplace also has Minutemaid Lemonade

One bad thing happened,

We accidentally left DDs most beloved stuffed animal behind in the room. We realized this at 1AM this morning and I called BC then and this morning. Lost and Found is closed today. Mouse keeping looked around their area, no luck. I will try Monday

DD will be crushed when she figures this out. Hopefully he was just chillin with a Princess for an extra day

This happened to us 8 years ago at POFQ my DD's doll was lost/left behind... Never found:( We wound up ordering another of that doll -she arrived with a note from her saying how much she "loved her extra time at Disney...thanks!"

Hurricane Hannah's had blue (very, very, very blue) Powerade as well as the lemonade. There are Gold Peak ice tea machines too. We never stopped at Ale and Compass to fill mugs -- I forgot about it! Milk isn't an option anywhere for the refillable mugs.

We arrived at YC on the ME around 11:00 last week. My text confirming I wanted a text about the room being ready (I did this after online check in but had to repeat it at the resort) was at 11:14 and my text saying the room was ready was at 12:20. I know that everyone's experience is going to vary widely, but that was mine. If you're asking if you need to check in at the resort when you arrive at 12:00 in order to get a room ready text prior to 3:00, I think the answer is yes.

Re: renovations, Dee, thanks for update, and Teena, thanks so much for giving educated guess on status as of next fall. It was apparently not totally clear what I was asking (the perils of typing quickly between periods of playing with toddlers), but my point was simply that if we are again going to try for yc/bc (versus dolphin-or somewhere else), we would like as good a chance as possible to be able to get a first floor room. So it seems like yc first floor would almost certainly still be fully available at that time, and bc likely so.

I'd go with either one. I know for sure YC will not be affected and I sincerely doubt BC will be down to the first floor by the Fall of 2014!

We spent our last evening at SAB Friday night

I think you should request to be close to a giant pitcher of bottomless Sunken Treasure ;)

I don't think you can request much besides a day bed since you already have the full balconies by virtue of staying at the YC (as opposed to the BC). The other fly in the ointment (Not Buzzy, some other fly... :scared: ) is that you will be limited to asking that your room be near your friends room. I think that will be the limiting factor.

Are your reservations linked?

Don't forget to call housekeeping before you leave your room and request that your room be made up before you come back at X O'clock.

I'd also get sticky notes to put on the back of your door where you could leave reminders like:

*Take room keys and park tickets
*Take Sun glasses and wine glasses
*Take camera and phones
*Call housekeeping to request time
*charge stun gun for unruly children and cranky adults
* Sunscream for the G man and A
*Refillable mugs
*Take bacon to throw off the bounty hunters
*Zip lock bags for stealing/borrowing Pretzel bread
*All toy guns purchased from Adventureland must be on "safety"

The sticky notes would also be good for communication purposes:

ATTENTION OCCUPANTS! Mom will be back from the pool in one hour. If this room is not cleaned up and all your junk put away she will be donating it to the nearest dumpster ASAP. THIS is your FINAL warning!

Nothing beats the soft talk on vacation. It's not like you won't have to remind everybody 50 billionteen times to take their crap to the parks otherwise they are being sent back on the bus alone while Mommy and Daddy toast their absence with a liquor filled libation.

Perfect. LMAO! Have you been on vacation with us before??? And how'd you find out about my stun gun???

We have our reservations linked with the other family. I agree, having a room close to theirs is the most important thing!

Has anyone stayed with four kids at BC standard room? My friend is thinking of joining us and her youngest is 2. She mentioned renting a toddler bed, but I wonder if it will fit with the day bed and be too cramped? What about room for clothes for six people? I want to be together but...

Maximum allowed in a BC regular room is five (ages three and up) plus an infant. Any person 18 years or older is considered an adult. Of the five allowed in the regular room, two can be adults. If there are more than two adults in a room, additional adults are charged $25 per adult per night.

Glad you landed safely (sorry to hear about the rough flight).
We will be there Saturday too and then YC check in on Sunday!!! We will look for you!

I'll be the blond, daughter in her 20's with brown curly hair. :)

Couchy thanks :)

Today's update, after somewhat frying at the beach yesterday afternoon, we decided to give it a pass today  and explored Boca, and had some retail therapy :upsidedow. Then met my cousin and his girlfriend for dinner at Flanigans. Great ribs! Walked back to hotel along ocean, and had a dip in the pool. First thing in the morning it's beach time again :beach: then going to go to a Disney store and load up a GC for dining.

And I never understood this towel animal

Palm tree?

5 more sleeps!

Started putting stuff aside today (sunscreen, check, stun gun, check...). Found DDs favourite swimsuit in the bottom of a bag from two days ago. Trying to wash out any mildew... Ack.

We won't be buying refillable mugs this trip - didn't use them last time a whole lot and the price increase... Ouch! Thinking of bringing a few old ones for CL beer by SAB and smuggling out libations from France. Will I get weird looks like I am a soda stealer or are they still the same mugs at YC?
