Don't people seem awfully grumpy after this Superbowl?

It sounds like many people didn't like either the game or the entertainment. I don't remember ever seeing something like this. Have there been past Superbowls where so many people were complaining? Or was this just a particularly bad Superbowl?

I think that there is so much hype about the teams, the entertainment and the commercials - that it's difficult to meet all of the expectations. Everyone is kinda let down.

i would not say it was a bad superbowl, both teams could have played better and been more consistent. I do think the officiating was very very poor.

Well, I think with the exception of the Janet Jackson fiasco that this is probably the most criticized superbowl in a while. I was terribly disappointed in the entertainment, from the Anthem to the Half Time Show. Though to be honest I wasn't real thrilled with last year's either. Couldn't believe they had Paul Mcartney here in Jacksonville for the show. The Janet Jackson half time show (with the exception of the breast baring) was a wonderful show, and so was the one the year before that with Britney Spears, AeroSmith, and a few other stars. I really wish thatt they would get over what happened two years ago and do the half time shows like they used to. Multiple artists from different genres so that everyone can enjoy the show, not just the old people. No offense intended but at 26 I would really enjoy seeing something other than bands that were famous before I was born. I think they can include both the old and the new, country and R&B, pop and Hip Hop. Let everyone get a little bit of something.

Anyway, done ranting.

As somebody who watched every one, this was one pretty bad on a large scale.

The game wasn't that great.

The entertainment angle was terrible.

It's like everything they tried was screwed up. Even the spots with the players and the trophy were not playing correctly (which is too bad because they looked good).

No matter, I doubt the ratings were that great in comparison.

Mick Jagger did make a comment how "Satisfaction" could have been sung at the 1st Super Bowl and then it looked like he flipped the bird. My husband insisted that he did, but to me it looked like he was pointing at something.

I was unhappy with the officiating. I was totally neutral, though, so it didn't make me grumpy. I just hated that the officials had such a big impact on the game.

But I did think it was a terrible game. It was pretty poorly played on both sides. The announcers knew it, too. They tried to hype it at halftime by saying that a lot of great Super Bowls had a bad start. But so did a lot of bad ones, and this was a bad one.

The Broncos weren't there, so it was bad. :( :( :(

I can't comment on the halftime show because I never watch those.

All those pics of the players with the trophy kind of bugged me. They were great Photos, but you shouldn't get to do a photo OP with the trophy until you win it.

I'm glad you said that. I was watching the game in HD off antenna and wasnt sure if my signal was having a problem or if it was a problem on their end.

The officials did a horrible job.

The pregame was way to geared toward Pit and that area. They did very little coverage of the great city of Seattle.

The trophy pics were kind of strange. I understand that it was mostly Steelers?

What bugged me - as a Seattle Fan - was that they only showed Hasselbeck, Alexander, and Holmgren one each with the trophy when we repeatedly saw the Steeler's over and over again with it. I hope they don't do that again next year.

I'm not a football expert (hey, I'm a girl, just be happy I know the basic rules!) so I can't comment if the game was bad or good. But even I thought the refs made some bad calls. Bad enough in a regular season game, but having bad calls during the Super Bowl is just terrible. These guys worked their behinds off to make it to THE game of their career, it shouldn't come down to bad calls.

The comericails were lack-luster. Although the streaking sheep in the Bud comericial was hysterical, I didn't think much of the rest of them.

I liked the half-time show, myself. I'm not a Stones fan but it was enjoyalbe, even though I wasn't even born when they first hit it big. I liked have just one act being able to do several full songs, not 3 to 6 differant acts doing 8 measures each of their last hit song and then the whole group joining in for a (badly sung) finale.

Sports and sporting events are scewed to the east coast. I don't agree with that practice, but I am sure it is a numbers game. If you were not REALLY into the NFL, you probably would have been like, Seattle who?

I'm a big football fan (my DH is a big steelers fan) and I even said after the first quarter that the game was really boring. A 3-0 game is just dull.

I thought some of the calls were questionable, however I don't think it really affected the outcome of the game. The missed field goal was a real momentum buster for the Seahawks.

The pre-show and halftime show were absolutely awful. It's too bad Janet Jackson ruined it for everyone now. The Rolling Stones were just terrible and IMO have very little appeal to any large demographic group. Couldn't they have gotten a band that's more current and appealing that actually has a hit sometime after the 80's?

I agree with the previous poster that the hype going into this game makes it next to impossible to live up to (although my DH would disagree since his team did win).
