ANYONE HAVE THINGS THAT THEY PACKED AND WOULDN'T TAKE AGAIN, BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T NEED THEM?
TRYING TO SAVE ROOM IN THE SUITCASE FOR THINGS THAT WE'LL BUY.
THANKS!

If nobody replies, this is what I plan on doing. Last Easter packed a suitcase and then placed this suitcase inside a slightly larger suitecase, voila! Extra bag for all the souvenirs, etc.! No more buying extra luggage.

Don't pack about one-third of the clothes you plan on taking. :) You live in shorts and bathing suits during the day and I've learned over the years to pack WAY less clothing than I did when I first started cruising DCL.

I totally agree with the clothes issue....we also lived in bathing suits, shorts and cover-ups during the day...I brought way too many shirts and shorts, which I never wore! Also, I would not bother bringing water to drink....much too heavy, space consuming and the water at the drink station on Deck 9 was absolutely fine!!

Beach Towels
More than 2 bathing suits

Things to definitely bring:

Ziplock bags

highlighter

Sharpie

binoculars

peel and stick address labels with the names and addresses of everyone you want to send postcards to already printed out

air freshener

Downey Wrinkle Releaser

We usually take laundry detergent, so that we can wash clothes...that cuts down on the number of shorts & tees. Plus, if we needed an extra tee shirt...we hit one of the billion "3 for $10" tee shirt vendors. You really do live in tees, shorts, and swimsuits!!

Also, I usually carry a back-pack style purse when we go on an excursion, then put a duffle bag (of the kind that you can scrunch up) inside it. Then we have something in which to carry any souvenirs.

The suitcase-in-a-suitcase idea is great! Can't believe I didn't think about doing that!

Shoes I always take way to many. You only need tennis shoes for walking, flip-flops for day wear onboard 1 pairs of dress shoes. I have been known to go to dinner dressed up then looked down at me feet to see I still had my flip flops on. Oh Well! It's the hillbilly in me.:D

I lay out everything that I "plan" on taking and then cut it in half, packing more tops than bottoms. Also, I ALWAYS ALWAYS, pack a LeSport Sac suitcase. It folds into its own pouch and takes up no room at all in the suitcase, you can even put it in your purse. Then I put my dirty clothes in the sport sac and pack my gifties in the regular suitcase and check them both on the way back.

I have hair dryers on my not to ring again list, I found the ones on the ship worked just fine...also I would NEVER bring soda again, it was heavy, bulky and next time I pay 3,000+ on a cruise I am not gong to be cheap and bring soda, I will just buy the mug and I also found the water on board just fine to drink so I won't pack water either!

We aslo bring a bag just for souvenirs. I carry them off with me so I don't worry about broken items.

I also bring and extra suitcase! One word of warning! While packing to go on the trip I made sure to count the bags, so may to check , so many to carry on ect...so when packing to depart, I kept thinking OK...I have 5 bags to put outside the room. However it was really 6 bags! Guess what, when we picked up our 5 bags to leave the port, we forgot we had one more! when we got home no-one had any shoes to ware to school. I had to run to the 24 hour Walmart and get some tennis shoes for the kids!!!LOL!
Lesson learned ...count carefully...then count again!
