I made the mistake of completing an Ebay pin transaction by registering with c2it and paying the seller via my credit card through c2it. BIG mistake!!!! My Visa card would not go through after several tries. I gave up and tried my MasterCard which did register and go through. Several days later I got a letter from my Visa card's security division asking me to call them about my credit card. When I did so (with some trepidation since this came out of the blue), they asked me whether I still had my card and about the multiple attempts from c2it. I indicated that I had indeed made the attempts--they checked a few other transactions and things appeared to be in order. The security officer told me that they will not let their cards be registered at c2it because c2it sends the transactions through (or they show up) as a cash advance. Sure enough, when I got my credit card bill for my MasterCard, my 19.00 Ebay transaction had turned into a 35.00 charge!!! (15.00 fee for a cash advance on my credit card!!!!) In the fine print of both the credit card and of c2it there is enough language to back up the charge--it is technically my mistake, but I feel ripped off and violated. You can be sure that I will not use c2it again, and I hope that this warning will save a fellow DISer from the same fate!
