Either I post in the wrong place or something is wrong with me. I'm not getting any anwers. I swear I showered today.:p

Anyhow my family leaves in 9 days (me, DH, DS4 & DS8). I just wanted to know what is your favorite ride/show? I don't want to miss any of the good stuff but don't want to waste time at things the kids would not like - esp. at Epcot what is good for kids?

Thanks!!::MinnieMo

I will try to help you out, this is what I like to do at Epcot:
Spaceship Earth, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Test Track, Mission Space, Journey into the Imagination, a walk around World Showcase, and Illuminations.
Also see Wishes at Magic Kingdom, and the 3:00 parade at the Magic Kingdom. Fantasmic show at MGM is a must.
If you need more info, email or message me and I will be happy to help you out.

At Epcot our kiddo (4 yo girl) loved Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Figment, Maelstrom, the Mexico ride, the Seas, and just walking around. I think she'll be brave enough this time to check out the Energy ride. She wasn't too keen on the movie in the Land but really enjoyed the boat ride. She LOVED making the cookies in the Land--try to do that!

WDW is huge with lots to offer everyone so it's kind of hard to answer such a broad question. In Epcot your boys will probably enjoy Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and of course don't forget to stop in for a free soda at Ice Station Cool in FW. Along the WS, stop in at the Kidcot station in each country to make the free craft. And they are sure to like playing in the boat in Norway.

I'm personally not a HUGE fan of Epcot, but there are some cute things for the kids to do. In the World Showcase, there is a representative from each country that will assist your kids in doing a craft project. When we were there, they made masks.

There are plenty of rides for a 4 & 8 year old to ride in Future World.

Visit the site below. There is a TON of information there that will help you plan out your trip! It's not too late to plan!!!

Okay, here goes! :bounce:

My favorite ride at Magic Kingdom...there are ALOT!!!! First off, make sure you hit all the mountains (Splash, Space, And Big Thunder...they're a fav. of pre-teens and some smaller children and I love em!). Your four year old would love almost all the rides in Fantasyland. I honestly think your kids would love EVERYTHING at Magic Kingdom, but Epcot is trickier. Make sure you go onto Journey Into the Imagination (all the colors are neat) and Spaceship Earth. Also your oldest might like Test Track. The Land boat ride can be kind of boring, but it's indoor so it will feel good. Honey I shrunk the Audience might be scary for the 4 year old, but otherwise the oldest will like that. Make sure to visit the countries and ride the Norway boat ride Maelstrom. You'll find a lot of shows in MGM Studios, and the Great Movie Ride is neat for all to see. Hope I helped! Have fun!:wave2:

Hello! I haven't seen your post until now, but am happy to reply.

In Epcot my favorites that are also good for kids are:
-Journey into imagination with Figment
-Honey I Shrunk the Audience
-Mexico has a cute boat ride
-There is a "Cooling Station" (I believe it's called that) where you walk through this freezer and then you wind up in a room where you can taste sodas from different countries. Which the kids might find fun.

At other parks my favorites are:
Pirates of the Carribean (MK)
Splash Mountain (MK) not sure if your little one could get on this.
Haunted Mansion (MK)
Voyage of the Little Mermaid (MGM)
Muppet Vision (MGM)
It's Tough to be a Bug (AK)
Dinosaur (AK)

I hope this helps. Have a great trip!!

THIS WAS GREAT!! Thanks so much. I am taking notes so I know what to try and what to skip. Can't wait!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

My 4 year old loved World Showcase, especially the Kidcot stations in each country. There are also lots of characters lurking about, but often times they are in the "back" of each country. In UK, there's a Thomas the Train table in the Toy Shoppe and a hedge maze for kids to run through in front of the bandstand where the Beatles group plays. Pooh characters are often back in this garden area also.

In Germany there's a train village that was a big hit with both my sons. The boat ride in Norway is fun too. There are drums the kids can play in the Africa section. They have a book now that they can fill out in WS and get a free poster. You can also buy a passport to get stamped in each country.

We enjoyed the entertainment in WS and the food too! Lots of yummy snacks.

We avoided the 3-D movie in Epcot. You might want to try the one in AK first. There's a big snake and Tiger that are pretty scary in Honey I Shrunk the Audience. My 4 year old didn't want to see it after he saw a "preview" on the vacation video. Both your kids might want to ride Test Track. My 4 year old didn't want to, but did go on Tower of Terror. Go figure.

At MGM my 4 year old enjoyed all the shows and visiting Pizza Planet. Around the corner is Al's Toy Barn where he was able to see Buzz and Woody. Kermit and Miss Piggy were nearby, too. The Disney Playhouse show was a big hit, but your 8 year old might want to skip it.

Jen, run out to your local bookstore and pick up The Offical Guide to WDW for Kids. You have plenty of time to go through that with your kids. It lists all the rides & shows with the scare factors and lots of restaurants your kids will like too. It has some activities in there too.

In Epcot, my 9yo granddaughter likes (she's a daredevil though) Mission Space, Test Track, Journey into Your Imagination, The Land, the rides in Mexico and Norway, Spaceship Earth, well, all of them I guess. She also liked the kidcot stations in the different countries the first couple times she was there. You can also buy a Passport, they're not much $, and take them to each country and have them stamped, kinda fun.

They have penny press machines EVERYWHERE and my granddaughter like to collect them, take plenty of pennies and quarters. You can buy a little book to put them in too.

You usually can find characters around the different countries in Epcot too. There's a character bus.

In Magic Kingdom she likes everything, I'm sure you won't have a problem finding things they'll like there.

In MGM, your littlest one would like Playhouse Disney, they both should like the Beauty & Beast show, Great Movie Ride, Muppets 3D, Star Tours, Little Mermaid, Indiana Jones Show, if they're dare devils they'll of course like Tower of Terror & Rockin Rollercoaster.

In Animal Kingdom, my granddaughter likes the safari, all the rides in Dino Land except Dinosaur. She especially liked the Boneyard, Festival of the Lion King is a must do, and Kali River Rapids is fun for all. Beware that the Bugs Life movie freaks alot of kids out.

Just get the book and go over it with your kids, they sell them at Barnes & Noble and places like that.

Have fun!

WOW! I was ready to skip Epcot. I can't believe how much is there for kids. My DH loves the food at Epcot so I'm glad you all helped me out. His tummy thanks you too!

Great idea about the book.

I think she means the unofficial guide...hey, there's a difference!:D

Hi,

I have been to WDW with kids varying from 2-12, and really they were never unhappy!!!

All of the above mentioned things were great ideas!!! also remember....

EPCOT - dancing fountain, living seas (if they like sea animals), the dancing water jets (they may get wet:rolleyes: )

MGM - honey i shrunk the kids playset, indiana jones show, star tours

MK - train ride around the whole park, indy racing cars, big arcade in tomorrow land and the new Mickey's Philharmonic is a must

Animal kingdom - the showers right before the bridge from africa, any of the animal trails (if your kids like animals) the tarzan rocks show is AWESOME!!!!

40" tall seems to be a big measurement for a lot of rides and then there are a few more in which you need to be like 44" or 48" so this may help to prepare your little one.

also, in 3d movies, taking the childs glasses off helps a little bit or handing them somthing to occupy them for a minute (like a light up sparkly thing or "oops, mommy dropped something could you reach it for me??? trick also works well - i have used this on the great movie ride during the alien part:p

have a wonderful time, and remember to save time for the pools, take lots of breaks (i've seen so many crying kids being drug around WDW)

Jen, I have the Unoffical Guide 2004 ( not the one specific for kids- but has a great chapter on kids). Let me know if you want to borrow it and I will make sure we get it to you. -Julie(Liz's sister-in-law)

If your kids like Finding Nemo, the Living Seas in Epcot has a Nemo room with real fish versions of the characters from the movies, plus pictures on the wall. Outside they have a Nemo character float that comes out about once an hour, and Nemo statues.

In EPCOT dont forget Innoventions. There are video games and such. Your boys will love that.

Cynde

PS I see you are from Collegeville. My MIL lives in Royersford.
