My husband has given me the go ahead to book another trip for next year. With our kids older now, 12, girl & 16, boy, he wants to stay some where other than ASMu Family Suite for many reasons. Kids to have own space, our own space and also nicer hotel on property.

OK, the Villas and Deluxes seem just too expensive and out of our price range, however, need suggestions???? I rather liked the Family suites, but he doesn't want to stay at ASMu again and doesn't care of AOA, he feels "too kiddy" for our kids now teenagers.

HELP Please! It will be a miserable trip if my biggest kid, my hubby isn't happy and comfortable.

Have you considered renting DVC points? You could stay in a 1 BR at Kidani. It has a pull out couch and sleeper chair and an extra bathroom.

Many of the deluxe rooms have a day bed.

Another option is 2 rooms at a moderate resort.

It does start getting tough with kids that age. Everyone wants there own bed and I don't think the lodging is really set up for that.

Another option is Bonnett Creek, which is not a Disney owned property but its got an awesome location and its actually "on" Disney property. It gets awesome reviews. A 2BR there may solve your problem.

Good luck.

It does sound like that cabins at Fort Wilderness would be a good fit. Have a great trip. Let us know what you decide!

Cabins at FW might be a good idea! We have 5 going this year and we ended up with two standard rooms at WL since we are all adults and it was less expensive than a 2bedroom villa. You can always request two adjoining rooms at any resort (although not guarantee, it is pretty likely to be granted). Other then that, the BLT 1bedroom villa might be an alternative. (pull out sofa and pull out chair which many say are very comfortable) It was a much lower cost than two rooms at WL but they ran out before we could reserve.

Both AKL and WL have bunkbed rooms. You have to ask for the specifically.

I love renting DVC points. It gives us the space we crave, gives dh & I a king bed with privacy & renting makes the price way more reasonable than booking through Disney.
I would have rented again for our upcoming AKL stay but I couldn't resist the free dining promo.
We also have 2 teens, 16 & 13, and have only had them stay on pull out beds for short stays, like 2 nights pre cruise. If we were staying for a full week, I'd splurge for a 2 BR so everyone gets a real bed. I could see a pull out for younger ones but by the time they are near or at adult size, a thin pull out mattress isn't very comfy.

That said, we booked bunk beds at AKL so my boys aren't bickering over who's hogging the bed or covers. :headache: WL also has bunk beds.
