Don't get out the flames just yet

DLPR does not have DVC, so no Treehouses

DLPR is much smaller than WDW

DLPR has the same weather as home (London) so mostly not very warm and unpredictable.

DLRP is exceptionally expensive - always was but now the exchange rate has hit so hard.

DLRP does not have Fantasmic

DLRP does not have Dinosaur

DLRP does not have T Rex (yet!)

However you can drive to DLPR and is a great stopover to our place in Spain

You can also walk from most of the hotels.

Best of all is that we are going to both this year. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay

can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait

Yes, if that lemonade has been made in a nuclear power plant :lmao:

:goodvibes

Blimey, is it actually that acid green colour? I thought that was the colour of the bottle. Sounds like good stuff.

The fact that is has "throwback" on the bottle would put me off drinking it.:confused3

:lmao: That was a special edition they made of both Mountain Dew and Pepsi, I guess kinda like when Coke brought out Coca-Cola Classic :)

I'd be worried about what I was drinking.:lmao:
It reminds me off what my mum did to the large coke bottle on a long car journey. I can still picture bits of crisps floating in the coke.

I've lost count of the number of times I've answered this over the years :). Our first trip to WDW back in 1992 was supposed to be a trip to the, then, Euro Disney. Following a trip to the travel agent, we discovered that for the price of 4 days in France, we could experience two weeks in the Florida sun. Since then, we have visited Florida a further 19 times, but have yet to make it to DLP. I'd like to go there and I frequently look into it, but the prices are just too restrictive. I last investigated around 2 weeks ago and, considering I can be completely flexible with dates, I just don't understand how anyone can justify it.

After 20 visits (and even buying into DVC) our Orlando trips aren't just about WDW (although it is a truly remarkable piece of real estate). Thanks to a certain Walter Elias Disney esquire, the entire area has grown into a vacation wonderland with fabulous entertainment, shopping and dining experiences.

The counsel for the defence rests its case... ;)

Despite being a fan of DLP, and unlike you inflexible with my dates (I love my teacher perks of summer holidays, tho I think they should give us a 'cost-of-holidays' raise :lmao:) I DO agree with much of what you say.

Especially with regards to price and Orlando not being just about Disney :)

:goodvibes

We Americans are spoiled. We think WDW is expensive. You can stay in WDW with travel and stay two weeks rather than 4 days in DLP. I couldn't stay in WDW for two weeks. So I guess my visit to Paris is off. :surfweb:

Come visit the castles in Scotland, at least you cant get them any better in USA:goodvibes

Did you mean to post this to your other thread on the same topic, hd?

If you think this needs combining yes. I didn't know Paris was sooo expensive. This is a great board. ty all for responding

I love them both, though as others have siad DLRP us fir a short break and WDW is for a big holiday.

Just to be awkward though Im going to throw another side into the mix..... You all seem to have forgotten that DLRP has Paris on it's doorstep! Personally I would much rather spend a day in Paris soaking up all the culturethen a day on IDrive, which I personally find quite tacky?

Flame me now!

forgot to say we go to wdw because of the other parks too lol

We decided to experience DLRP last month after 11 trips to WDW as a surprise for my wife's birthday. Have to echo the views of many and say DLRP had no atmosphere and none of the Disney feel at all. We stayed at the Santa Fe hotel, normally use Pop or All star and again didn't feel like a Disney hotel.
It was also our first experience of rude CMs. Also everything seemed so expensive compared to Florida.
The final straw was not getting on Crush coaster after waiting 45mins for being too big (I'm a big chap). When I said there was no signs indicating size constraints I was pointed to two tiny lines of text and also told things here were done for Euro sizes.
Must admit i'm looking forward to our October trip this year and getting that WDW feeling. Although as others have said Orlando is so much more than just WDW. Sea World and trip to new Harry Potter land are must dos this year.

What she said - every time I look at it, I just cannot justify the cost for what is essentially a mini-break :confused3

Only the greatest soda known to man :lmao:

Why did you have to post that picture!!! :rotfl:

So, is it basically lemonade?:rotfl:

But this isn't just any lemonade this is GREEN NUCLEAR lemonade! (say it in M&S ad voice!:lmao:)

No flames, here but honestly there are still lots of things to see. We haven't set foot on I Drive in about 10 years and we haven't had any shortage of other non Disney etc things to do.

I only go to Orlando for Disney. I love DLP for what it is and I don't go instead of WDW I go as well as I love going to Disney, so the more the better. Honestly the cost doesn't put me off going to DLP, I have been to DLP & WDW months apart in the past and I couldn't take the time to go to WDW twice in that space.

I am also planning to go to California mainly for Disneyland.

I can understand if people go to Orlando for other things that DLP won't appeal as much.

I also love Paris the city however haven't been since 2007 so we are planning a trip staying in paris, a non disney trip.
