This is a great list. We also bring two plastic document folders one for scrapbook finds (maps, stickers, pirate certificate) and one for reciepts to help with future planning.
I believe it is Mead that makes reminder bracelelts for kids ( similar to bracelets for Disney events) that can be used to write cell numbers and room info in case kids are seperated from parents.

What a cool idea about the bracelets for the kids. I'm going to look for those! My kids (esp. DD) don't always have pockets to put slips of paper with phone numbers on, so that is a good alternative.

My additions to the list:
Beach towels. I hate using little dinky bath towels after swimming in the pools.
A strap to carry water bottles around your neck.
If renting a car, a map from the airport to your resort
Rolls of quarters for LAUNDRY
Soft-sided cooler for drinks
Power cord for laptop and the cord to download pix from digi camera

What in the world is an REI?!? I keep hearing people talk about it, but have no idea what it is. Thanks for your help.

REI stands for Recreational Equipment Inc and they have a website where you can get lots of good stuff. Not sure if they have stores also?

Pocket Packs of Kleenex (DH got a cold last trip and we had to buy them at the gift shop of our hotel...much cheaper to have your own with you and always useful to have)
Cold Eeze Drops (In case you feel a cold coming on)
Chargers for batteries, Ipods, and cell phones
Tide to Go and/or Shout Wipes

by the way im 12 and by brothers are 14 10 and 7 turning 8. wene i went to disney world it was hard to keepthem entertained so for the plain ride i brought card games and mp3s and our labe top to keep them entertaind just so u kow. my parents got to relax on the ride.

Last year DH and I visited WDW in August when the ground is super hot. We took two little foam sitting pads in our backback around the parks to sit on during parades, after a rain or any other time we wanted a cushioned seat. We were VERY glad to have them. We bought ours at IKEA (or ikea.com) for $4 each.

• microfiber towel for wiping off wet seats after rain or KRRR
• Plastic hangers with pants clips for hanging wet swimsuits up on the shower rod in the room
• good coffee for the coffee maker (yuk Nescafe!)

Okay ... I have just spent considerable time reading the lists and didn't see the one thing I take with me everywhere ... duct tape! It can repair just about anything, seal just about anything, and if you put some on the backs of your heels (or any other potential trouble spot) it will reduce friction and prevent blisters (got this one from my backpacking daughter!).
Great list, posters, but remember not to stress about remembering everything ... you are not going into the wilderness ... you can always buy something critical if you must. I generally try to forget pajamas as it is always nice to have a new Disney nightshirt for the vacation!

Loving the thread - my only problem is that our airline is now charging for the 2nd checked bag - arrrrrrrgh!! Gonna have to prioritize the list to squeeze it into one (huge) bag.

A few things we learned the hard way:

A collapsable shoe tree (never trip over flip-flops on the way to the bathroom at 2:00AM again!)

Slippers (to wear to the bathroom at 2:00 AM)

Rum (why is the rum always gone?)

Matching loud Hawaiian shirts (better than matching tee-shirts, don't you think)

Dark sunglasses (for the glare from the Hawaiian shirts)

don't forget tea bags!!! if you get stung by one of those nasty florida bugs, dampen a tea bag and put it on the bite for 20 min. it works wonders!!!!

Loving the thread - my only problem is that our airline is now charging for the 2nd checked bag - arrrrrrrgh!! Gonna have to prioritize the list to squeeze it into one (huge) bag.

Have you thought about shipping some things down ahead? I've read on several threads parents shipping surprises, etc. and it doesnt' cost an arm and a leg. I plan on doing it for our upcoming trip. My kids are nosy and will find all of my little trinkets before we leave if I don't! That would give you more space to pack things and give room for souvies on the way home. Also very useful are the Space bags. You can pack loads in them, and suck the air out so it takes up less space. I found some at Bed BAth and Beyond that just roll and squeeze the air out, they don't take a vacuum.

I just wanted to post a THANK YOU to all of the pros out there who have compiled this list. We just got back on Sunday and I'm serious when I say you all helped make my trip great. From the blister block to the suction cups for the swimsuits, all of the tips and advice were really terrific and I thank you, WE thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Without your suggestions and advice, we would have had a much rougher time. I seriously felt like I was packing for a major camping trip, but having snacks and water and blister block, and wipes and everything else that we needed, and to not be there thinking, Man if I only had.....' was great. I felt like WONDER MOM! It allowed us to have a great time and just relax and enjoy being there. We forgot what day it was several times b/c we were so far removed from everything and it was wonderful!

So, once again, THANK YOU!
