Can Screw Up.

I was left rideles by a tc co. that some of you are about to use. I don't want to list who it was, and this was not the first time I had used them. The bad part was that I couldn't even reach them by phone, and I was traveling alone with DS who has special needs.

Please have a back up plan for whatever co. that you use it is hard to start your vacation stranded at the airport.

So, with all of these threads and posts take away one piece of advice and carry alternate phone #'s or have information you need on another service.

That is very sound advice. But aren't there taxi's available at the airport that one can use if they have a problem? Not near as nice as a Towncar, but I would think if you have a last minute problem taking a taxi might be the simplest thing to do.

I have never been too worried if a town car driver doesn't show. There is Mears, there are taxis, and from what we have seen other town cars drivers from other companies looking for impromptu business.
It would be frustrating. But I wouldn't feel stranded, unless something out of the norm was going on.

I see your point and did not want to start anything.

I could not push my DS around and take care of the luggage as well. I was happy I had a cell phone so that made it easier. The company I was dealing with knew my situation but obviously that didn't matter. I have since delt with other co.'s without any problems this trip was last year.

Also, you better know what taxi company you are using because they can charge some hefty prices and are not very safe. Ask Chip and Dale Express.

I know you are both seasoned travelers just a warning for newbies.

Oh gosh no, I wouldn't consider myself a seasoned traveller by any means! I didn't mean to infer that your idea wasn't a good one, it is. I just meant that on short notice you might have trouble booking another car service, so you might want to keep in mind that taxi's are available. I think booking transportation to and from DW has been the least pleasant aspect of all my vacation planning!

Your point is a good one and well taken. I just wouldn't panic or be too upset if that happened. Sure, I wouldn't be happy, but I would quickly move on to another source who could provide the service I needed!

Well, it's like reading good and bad reviews on the resorts board. You take it all in then when something happens to you , you can take care of it and get on with your vacation.

We had some awful things happen at one of the resorts but I knew how to handle it from reading so much on the DIS.

When I posted my trip report when we got back posters were like Oh MY. I had it handled and moved on quickly so it didn't seem like such a big deal at the time.
