DON'T CRY OR WE'LL RIDE DINOSAUR AGAIN! A Spring Break TR---Final Thoughts 5/5

Yes, keep trying Wigd. I just booked one for Thursday July 1st yesterday. There were several times in the 10-11 range available. Good luck!

We did get one Stacy!
You were right, it was at 10:30. So if we make rope drop at Magic Kingdom we can get a bunch done then head over to breakfast.
:goodvibes

Wonderful! Glad you got one. Now we'll all be eating that wonderful goodness. Too bad it's not all together!:goodvibes

I've enjoyed reading your trip report. I was wondering what ages you would advise for the animation thing. I have two daughters who are very intersted in art but they are only six and eleven. My husband is an artist with a degree in watercolors and I know he would enjoy it. I, on the other hand, can't even draw stick figures convincingly. We will be at Disney from May 26 - May 31 and I am hoping for really nice weather. :)

YAY! for an 'Ohana breakfast! I love getting to MK early and getting a lot of things done, and then heading across to the Poly for some breakfast! :)

Oh, Stacy, I really think that Ben and Ellie will like 'Ohana. :thumbsup2

YUM! :woohoo:

I am finally catching up on ALL of my subscribed threads (after son's knee surgery, scheduling DH's back surgery for July and needed appointments before then--chest x-ray, blood tests, MRI) and planning our September Florida trip to Marco Island AND DISNEY WORLD...yes, we're going back for four nights since we didn't have to pay taxes this year.

Don't you just love when you get an empty MK?!?! We have had a few of those and it is so great to just walk on the rides.

Love your Poly pictures...it is our favorite deluxe of the two we have stayed at. We're having breakfast at Kona's in September so we'll be able to walk around Poly.

I don't know that I would have a definite age for the animation academy. My nephew was 10, almost 11, at the time, and I think he got frustrated at times, because his drawing didn't turn out as well as he'd hoped for.

I do know that you need to be able to follow multi-step directions and do so quickly. I think the teachers only have 20 or so minutes from the time they start until they have to be finished. When we go back in May, we do plan to do it again, and this time we will have our 7 1/2 year old with us. He'll probably like trying, even though he might not get the same finished product as the rest of us. ;)

Sounds like your husband would really enjoy it. Maybe you and your older daughter can go, while DH and younger DD visit some characters there in the building. Then you can swap and let him go with older daughter again. :thumbsup2

Looks like we have overlapping trips---We'll be at Disney May 22-29, staying at Beach Club. Where will you be
?

Oh, my goodness, Kathy---you've been busy. I hope your son's knee surgery went well. :)

:yay::yay: YAY for not paying any taxes, so you can go back to Disney! By any chance, will you be staying at CSR ? ;)

I do love an empty MK ! One of the best pictures I have is Main St. this past December 30. We got there a little after 7 that morning, and there was no one in my pictures of the castle. (It sure didn't look like that about 4 hours later though........................ :scared1: )

I do  the Poly. Will you be having some Tonga Toast? :cloud9:

Yes, we are going to CSR. We thought of AKL, but we couldn't afford the savannah view and I really want that view when I stay there. But I have no problem, as you know, saying at the CSR.

I'm not sure what I'll have at Kona. I know Mark wants to have the Big Kahuna. I don't like bananas (a result of having to eat one every day I was pregnant with my youngest son...and his surgery went very well, thank you for asking) or nuts, so I'll probably go with an omelet or regular french toast. But Mark has really been wanting to go here for the Kahuna and I figured I had to let him have a little (and I mean little) hand in the planning. ;)

Well, I sure think CSR's new rooms are beautiful! :goodvibes I wouldn't mind staying there again.

I understand about the bananas......I did order the tonga toast the first time we ate breakfast there, because that's all I had heard on these boards. It was sooooooooo sweet, I couldn't eat half of it. It was more like dessert, than breakfast for me. We're trying dinner there in May for the first time. :)

What a strange statue! :rotfl: Uh-oh, sounds like crowds! I'm wondering how well you did battling the masses back at MK. popcorn::

He is a little strange fellow.....funny, but strange!

Yes, Courtney, it was a little more crowded than it had been that morning, but we managed. :thumbsup2

That combination would certainly qualify as one of the better days in a person's year, huh? :) We hope to be doing the same thing two weeks from today. :cool1:

It's fun to read about everyone's planning efforts. We all know the good feeling you get from making an ADR or loosely planning out a Disney day. It's fun to plan your own, but it's also fun to be excited for others as they get closer and closer to their own turn to go! :cheer2:

Thank you so much for your response. We do have overlapping trips!! We will be staying at the Grand Floridian. We have never stayed on site before and we are very excited. I think my oldest daughter would love the animation class. I'll be sure to have at least one of us take her. I hope you have a great trip.:)

Those snacks from Goofy's look so good! I probably would have gone for the rice krispie, but the apple sounds good if they can cut it up for me.

Love Ohana breakfast! I hate buffets, but the family-style thing is right up my alley!

Hi, Michelle! Hope you don't mind me hopping into your TR kind of late! Just discovered it and can't wait to get myself all caught up. :thumbsup2

And, I can't wait to hear all about that trip! Ya'll are going to have so much fun. :)

I think you will LOVE  staying on-site, especially with the location of the GF!

Thanks---I hope you have a great trip, too! :thumbsup2

The rice krispie was yummy and the best part is getting to choose the toppings yourself! YUM !:)

:welcome:---Glad you're here. I think I have the links on the first page, if you want to skip the chatter and just read the trip details. :thumbsup2

gorgeous photos from the Poly! I may have to pop over to some of the other resorts if we are having down time in the evening--I would love to see some others! Kookie pens! I think we may end up with a collection of those--Lilian just loves them.

Thanks, Stephanie. I really do love the Poly. It was my dream resort for so long, and we finally were able to stay there in 2007, and then in 2009. It didn't disappoint!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to see the Poly didn't disappoint you. It is our favorite deluxe (although we've not been there since 2004). There is a thread currently going on about how awful a stay someone had. (:

Yes, I've heard that about the Tonga Toast--very sweet. Hubby will be happy with his Big Kahuna and I'll be happy with regular french toast....unless you come back with a rave review and I switch to dinner. ;)

I've started a pre-trip report...it's linked in my siggy.

Oh, no, Kathy, the Poly has never disappointed me. In fact the only place we've stayed at that I wouldn't repeat would be the All Stars Sports. It's just not my sort of place.

I'll be sure to let you know about dinner at Kona. The menu sounds yummy! :)

I'm headed over to check out your PTR! :thumbsup2
