Beach Club SAB Pool

If you can get a BW view, and are planning on spending a decent amount of time out on the balcony, I promise you there's nothing better. I love BCV, but the room views there are mediocre at best.
I'm sort of targeting that at the moment - my dates are currently open. Fingers crossed they stay open until the 7-month window opens! If not, I may book pool/garden and waitlist the BW view.

Checking in from Day 2 of our BCV stay— we haven’t actually used SAB yet, did Blizzard Beach yesterday and skipping pools today…. But I walked by on the outside at 2:30PM on the way home from the friendship boat dock as slowed down to look at level of crowds— it was very very busy but I could see at least 6-10 open lounge chairs and the like at hurricane hannahs quick service looked less than 10 people like (might have been less than 5), chairs at the bar itself were taken.

Thanks for the intel - yeah, one wouldn't exactly expect pools at WDW on an August afternoon to be anything other than very busy. But as long as you can find a chair to put your stuff on and for one or two parents to camp out occasionally, that's all you really need.

Here is the reality of all these plans - even booking a one bedroom, your chances of a Boardwalk views room or a BCV or even just any room at BW over Spring Break are just OK - those rooms can move quickly at seven months. So the reality is "book what you can when you can when its available and enjoy what you get." The approach of having a priority list is good - and if you want to try SAB, don't pass on the opportunity based off other people's internet opinions if its available. You can always use the quiet pools if SAB is overwhelming.

Thank you - I do appreciate the reminder about 7-month availability. Fortunately, for this trip, I think I'll be perfectly happy if I end up with OKW or SSR, but I am looking forward to trying for BWV or BCV at 8 am sharp when my 7-month window opens up!

And don't forget that if only OKW or SSR is available to book, you can still set up a WL for BWV and another for BCV, even for a multi-night reservation that's "unlikely" to come through. Magic does happen, and what do you have to lose?

Re-upping this thread. Still targeting BWV of BCV, but now that I'm getting closer and focusing on my overall points usage for next year, and I see that Resort/BW/P&G views are all still available for my planned dates, questioning whether BW view would be worth it over Resort view. For my 4 nights, it would be 31 extra points over Resort view. I was thinking I wanted to splurge, but I also know that my time on the balcony with two young kids is, well, limited. Anyone think BW view is worth it for 31 more points if it is available? I think I'm leaning the point miser route :-).

If you have never had BWV than yes.

I have to admit that BW view can be noisier than Resort view, now that guests can no longer bring their luggage out to the front entrance (most Resort view rooms look at that) to check it for their flights out later that day. We’ve had some nice Resort view rooms over the years. I usually request View of Tennis Courts, which actually looks into a wooded area, very peaceful. That section has the added benefit of being halfway to DHS, if you use the stairs at the end of the hallway.

That said, BW view is always my preference. I try for Resort view only if I need to budget my points! And P/G view is only if neither BW view nor Resort view are available.

Honestly, I would only get a better view if you have points to burn. Or, if you think you'll spend time on the balcony when the kids are sleeping.
I think this is where I'm at. Will I enjoy that view for 30 minutes in the morning with my coffee and maybe another 30 minutes in the evening with my glass of wine? Well, yes, I will. But, is it worth 31 points? I do have points to burn, but because I'm still waiting for some resale points to load, I'd need to borrow some points (and then probably bank some later). If I go with resort view, I won't have to borrow at all, even without waiting for my resale points to load. Still, that BW view is tempting just to have the experience.

If you have to borrow for it maybe not worth it. But if you will have extra points it is worth it. I would probably book resort view and then if BW view is available once you get new points possibly consider switching. I adored BW in our Garden View, I can only imagine how amazing BW view is.

I hate ending up in the situation where I am using borrowed points and have banked points next year , mine is usually caused by banking too early.

We’ve done all 3 views at BWV. I always try for standard/resort first because you just can’t beat the value, and knowing there will be fewer opportunities to book this over time than the other views, that gives me the best chance to at least get it once in awhile. If/when that doesn’t come through, BW View is our backup. If I’m going to spend the extra points, that view is amazing! P/G is still a great option if the others don’t come through, but I save it for last knowing it’ll be the most likely availability I come across over time.

Just wondering if there have been reports from folks reserving and enjoying the cabanas at SAB yet? I know it took them awhile to reopen after SAB reopened. Any reports about how they look and has anything changed since before the extended renovations? Thanks.....

Thanks. That is incredibly helpful info. And you really are right about the value. I just compared the 4 nights I'm looking at compared to a Standard 1 BR SSR and a 1 BR OKW. The Resort 1 BR BWV is 3 points less than SSR and only 6 points more than OKW. Really hard to beat that.

It is worth it.

Have you joined Membership Magic Beyond? You can get the BOGO one time use points and have 24 points for 7-month bookings ready to go. Seven borrowed points seems a lot better to me if you want the view.
