Don't be a Drag, Just be a Queen June 3-18 (MORE PICS ADDED 6/25!)

ONE WEEK 'TIL DEPARTURE!!

7 days 'til departure
4 working days
4 school days (well, 4 HALF school days)

I am ready for the weekend! I want to get the last few odds & ends packed.

So far the camera shop has refunded us exactly $9. The shipping charge on the lens DH DIDN'T order. They are supposed to e-mail him a paid shipping label today so he can go to the UPS store and send the lens back. The tracking shows they got the defective lens back yesterday but there is no telling how long it will take for the refund. With the holiday weekend the one DH is sendng out today may not even get there until the end of next week.

After I posted on their FaceBook Wall, DH sent them a detailed e-mail about all the problems he has had. The guy replied "Oh, so sorry. We'll pay the postage for you to send back the lens you didn't order, then we'll refund the cost of the lens once we have it back." Well, DUH, you idiot! That's the LEAST you can do! :headache: DH said he got a customer service survey from them, and he plans to let them know exactly why he will NEVER do business with them again.

Lens is on the way back to the camera shop, postage paid. So now all that's left to do is wait and watch for the refunds to clear. :rolleyes1

DS got his textbooks turned in without incident, so that's done.

He goes to the Dr. this afternoon for his toe. Of course he insisted on messing with it last night so it is much worse than it was. Good thing we already had an appointment.

DS is now taking Augmentin, and he is to tie his shoes properly so his foot doesn't slide forward and get jammed in the front of his shoe. All that for the bargain price of $110. :headache:

Candy, you were 110% absolutely, positively right when you said I should call for more doxycycline. Here we are, holiday weekend, and late last night I could feel my eyelid starting again. Puffy, painful. Later today it will start to turn purple. :headache: I have no clue what to do next. Doc in a Box? Maybe the Minute Clinic at CVS?

Minute Clinic opens at 9 AM. Sounds like a plan.

DS has a haircut at 11 AM.

I ended up doing 2 loads of laundry last night. I NEVER do laundry during the week, but DS cleaned out his locker and brought home a mind boggling array of clothing. No, I can't explain it. I have no idea why his locker was full of clothes. Hopefully I can pack his last few odds and ends today and be done with it.

It would be ever so lovely if DH packed today. Not sure what's on his agenda.

Are you KIDDING ME??? Minute Clinic has a binder full of protocol. It tells them how to treat EVERYTHING, and they are not to deviate. No oral antibiotics for me - ONLY drops or ointment. Dude, I have been battling this condition for like 6 years. Nothing topical is going to help. And the longer it goes without treatment, the more it swells and the more purple it gets.

I ended up having to go to the eye Dr. - thank goodness DS's guy is open on Saturdays. Of course I was a new patient AND a walk-in, so I had to wait. The Dr. said I could have doxycycline if I wanted it, but he would suggest a Z-pack. Hmm. The doxycycline I just finished resulted in a new infection 48 hours after the last dose. I'll do the Z-pack. And I also got a script for doxycycline in case the Z-pack does nothing. Which is likely. SO annoying.

Insurance is doing the damage assessment on the car tomorrow. They have a drive-thru set up at a dealership. Hopefully that won't take forever. Watch the damage be exactly $500 so I'll sit through the line and then get nothing.

I am second guessing the inventory sheet for the Owner's Locker so I am worried that I will leave out something thinking we have it, then get there and realize we don't.

DAR-ling, you're going to ORLANDO, not Timbuktu. If you forget it, and you must have it, you can go buy it. (I know, I know, you never like buying when you already have, but it's not the worst thing in the world to forget something...)

I signed up for Owner's Locker this year; how do you like it?

E - I may know why you haven't been in your packing mood. Is this the closest to the end of school that you have gone? Maybe you are trying to tie up those loose ends and not focusing on the trip? Just a thought.

And I still don't take up much room in the luggage - and I don't eat much! Can I come, please?!

I know. We got to Epcot one day and DS wasn't wearing sunscreen, so we paid $15 for a 3 oz. tube. I just like to minimize experiences like that. We like the Owner's Locker a lot! We haven't been able to eliminate a checked bag, but it is still really handy.

Marti, that was what happened last year. This year I am cranky because of my eyelid. If you really want to contort yourself in a bag I guess it's a good thing I will be exchanging the sandals that smell like goats. ;) At least the air will be fresh in the Shoe Bag.

FIVE days until departure!

5 days 'til departure
3 working days
3 (half) school days

My eye is no better, and I happened to notice the doxycycline is not the same thing I had before. These are tablets - I had blue capsules last week. I need to google and see what the difference is.

DH has not packed a single thing. He has NO days off before the trip. I think he will regret not packing when he was off yesterday.

DH is packing. Beware of flying pigs. And for anyone visiting hell today, be warned there may be unseasonably cold temperatures.

WOW! For the first time EVER, it looks like we might not need the Shoe Bag. It seems that we have actually crammed all of our stuff into only 3 checked bags and 3 carry-ons! :scared1:

$1400 worth of hail damage to my car. :headache:

Grabbed a couple of things at the store for DH so I think we FINALLY have the packing situation under control. Got a magazine to read on the plane. Picked up a few groceries.

I still need to run a few errands at the mall. I also need a pedicure.

Eyelid looks completely ridiculous.

:cool2: Hi Elizabeth, smilie in honor of your sunglasses. I just read the whole thread.

Hope you eye gets better. My middle ds tried contacts and didnt like them but then again he has kerataconus so they werent so good for him anyway.

Hope Carter gets adjusted to his new contacts.

See you are going to Citricos and Flying Fish. We went to both this time and loved Citricos and didnt care for Flying Fish.

Have a great trip and looking forward to your report.

Hi, Maryann! :goodvibes

Flying Fish is my top restaurant on property. We're going there twice. I actually JUST switched Citrico's for California Grill. The current Citrico's menu wasn't doing it for me. We can always eat sushi, so Cali Grill is good. And their menu looks better than Citrico's at the moment. We'll see how it goes.

Last time we went to Cali Grill they had us in and out in under an hour - it was dining on fast forward. We weren't trying to hurry, but apparently THEY were in a hurry to turn the table. All of our entrees were REALLY salty that night, too. We didn't go there last year, so maybe this time will be better.

I forgot to ask - who is going on the fishing trip and where are you going from?

We did the one from the Polynesian once. It was cool seeing the castle while we were fishing and between the 3 ds and dh, I caught the most fish!!

Our guide was great and she took us over by the old Discovery Island.

What do you like at Flying Fish? Dh had some fish dish with beets. He said the beets were overwhelming. I got the salad with walnuts and the gorgonzola was overwhelming too. Way too strong of a taste. I dont think the scallops were done enough. Dh said his soup was good and we liked the bread. He had press pot coffee and liked it. The desserts were good too. I think we did 4 courses, no alcohol and the bill with a tiw discount for just the 2 of us was $170, Wowsa$$. I dont think its on our list for December.
