Don't answer the phone, it's her AGAIN!!

Personally I would go with PORS, POFQ, or CS...I just don't care for the value resorts and the moderates are really nice and have a "calmer" tone to them. I am sorry you didn't get your LGMH...hopefully you will get them soon!

stepdisney, I didn't even think about that. I've looked into the AP but I think the 10 days w/ no expiration would be cheaper. Now would we have to upgrade all of the tickets on the package? Or once we got there could we upgrade only mine and DH's? :confused3 Love the idea!

Also one thing I forgot to add is that we'll want to purchase DDP. Will that work that way?

I know some friends of ours go twice a year and they buy 14 day w no expiration and use 7 the 1st time then go back and use the next 7!! and I think (???) they buy DDP but not sure:confused3
Good Luck:thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm just going to have to play around w/ the numbers and see what I can come up with. I priced out the 10 day ticket and w/ no expiration option it upped the price by $400. Then I priced just the price of 2 adult 3 day tickets and it was only $384. So I'm going to make a call and see what the best option is. I think Disney has figured out ways to outsmart those of us who try to outsmart their system. ;)

luvfigment, I think we will go w/ either PORS or CR. I am really leaning towards CR and being on the monorail. I also love their new rooms. But if we try and cut costs a bit more than we'll go w/ a moderate. Thanks for the advice.:)

Ktink,

If you have more than three days left, then it's worth it. Also, the difference is that you will still have three days on two of your tickets for your next trip instead of just two three day tickets. In other words, if the $400 is for four tickets, the children will still have three orfour days left on their tickets for the next trip. Also, if you plan an activity that is not at the park, for instance we went to an Atlanta Braves pre-season game when we went without the children, you don't have the pressure of using or loosing your days at the park. They will never expire. We are thinking of upgrading to no expiration because we have 6 or 7 days at the water park plus 9 day tickets. We may have enough left on the ticket to use for another trip. (I just hate to waste anything :lmao: .)

Thanks stepdisney, sounds like a plan. I'm the same way I'd rather have what I need or more than I need up front and then use it later.

:rotfl2: Are you kidding me? DH would KILL me if I change anything else on this trip. :lmao:

We did just have a little chat. I got to thinking about our Feb trip and it's been about 3 years since we've been on a cruise. Well I went to Royal Caribbean's website and it would be a little cheaper to go on a cruise instead of WDW. But we're going to stick it out and go to WDW. I really think we're leaning towards your stomping grounds.... PORS.

Take the Cruise :yay: Take the cruise :yay:. I think a Disney cruise without the children would be wonderful. Oh, just in case I hadn't mentioned it, I think you should take the cruise. :)

POR is great it is quite yet has plenty of activities including a great piano bar...and a cruise would be fun to but not unless it's DISNEY:goodvibes

Well I have to admit we'll become turncoats if we go for the cruise. We love Royal Caribbean and it is ALOT cheaper and we would get a better stateroom out of the deal too! The only thing that bothers me about cruising is well, just look at my tag.... I'm sharkbait. I told DH that if we do decide to cruise that we won't be doing the scuba diving because I'm not going down like they did on the movie Open Water. :scared1:  :faint:

Ok, so yall tell me what you think. The cruise would only cost us $668 for the both of us w/ taxes and fees. And that's for an oceanview stateroom. And RCI also has their own private island that is called Cococay and it is pure paradise. It was our favorite part of the past 2 cruises. I'm getting excited just thinking back we loved it so much we went in June and October of the same year.

If we stay at PORS w/ a king room the 07 rates are $160 per night for 3 nights then the cost of our tickets that we would have to upgrade the room would be around $500 w/ taxes and then to upgrade the tickets is $400 plus the cost of food. But I do think it would be fun to ride the rides w/ DH. But then it would be fabulous to cruise too! Here goes the rollercoaster :scared:

hello....fellow lurker over here!

Have you seen the movie Open Water 2? Sheeeshhhh...I feel the same way you do about scuba diving. IMHO I would do Disney..I can't ever seem to get enough disney, and how cool would it be to go with the DH alone?? When is the last time you did that?

I'm lovin your pre-trip...can't wait to read more! popcorn::

Hey there! Thanks for joining. And you're right about going to WDW w/ DH alone. We don't get a chance to ride the rides together. Most of the rides DD 6 wants to ride w/ her daddy. But it makes for a great time w/ the kids. We're going to wait until Disney comes out w/ the 08 packages before we decide what to do.

Only 75more days left! :yay: :yay:

Well I called our TA today and she was able to get us an excellent rate for a 4 night cruise! So we went ahead and booked it today! And this is a new ship to us and it has a different itenerary than the cruises we went on before. This one stops at RCI's private island, then the Bahamas (I'm assuming Nassau), and then to Key West. I've never been to Key West so I'm really excited about that. DH is somewhat relieved that I won't be able to change anything on the cruise reservation.

stepdisney, I'm not sure what's going on w/ AKL but if it's true that they are trying to upgrade people to SSR then it looks like a blessing that we'll be at WL! Well I'm sure some would love the upgrade but SSR just doesn't appeal to me, especially over AKL.

I just found your pretrip and my head is spinning! I just wanted to say I'm really enjoying all of your changes. And Key West is awesome! My family owed a home in the Florida Keys until I was in college. It was so fun and so much to do. Can't wait to read more!

Well I "got to thinking" about our cruise and how excited I am and DH was saying that he couldn't wait. So we got to talking about our plans and how it may be a good idea to go down a day before we sail out that way we will not have to worry about flight delays and such. Good idea, right? Well then I got to thinking about how we're going on 2 very elaborate vacations only within a few months apart. So many of you know what a tight wad I am and that leads to the next thought.

If I go w/ a moderate resort then the difference is $600 and that will pay for our airfare and then the $$$ I saved from changing from Poly to WL in addition is paying for our cruise. So I did the unthinkable... I called a family meeting and everyone was aboard but DD 11. She isn't thrilled that we're going on a cruise and she didn't want to loose her deluxe vacation for a moderate. Well I tried to break it to her gently but the fact remains that we're paying for it... But luckily I didn't have to play that card.

So we're booked at CBR. So I've saved us alot of money while at the same time having 2 trips to look forward to. And I'm FINE w/ that!!

And I got it done just in the nick of time. The only thing was that they didn't have a preferred location but we'll hope for the best on a good location! And as a bonus I added the water park option to surprise the kids to lessen the blow. ;)

 I just posted on AKL thread, our quest for a room there is over. I was just thinking, Ktink and Disneybride were right, it was our destiny to be at WL. Well Disneybride is at the villas and you're at CBR and, alas, there will be not AKL for me. They really are giving upgrades to SSR (2 bedrooms) to Savannah View booked rooms because the view is obstructed in some of the rooms.

I think that CBR looks very nice. I hear good things about he pool. I think you're going to be happy wherever you stay. The waterpark and more is a great option because it gives you Disney Quest as well as the the two water parks. I'd rather have that instead of hoppers. You can enjoy a water park and a theme park in the same day. I think that you can still modify after the deadline, just not after the 45 day mark or there is a fee.

chchchchanges.....I knew I could count on you to make a change as you can see we stayed at CBR & the pool is great it was the best part of the resort!!!
thank you oh honored one!!!!

ktink, You will love Key West. :goodvibes We did the RCI cruise from Galveston a few years ago and Key West was one of the best stops. I have wanted to go back and just hang out there for a few days. Flying in a day early would be great! :thumbsup2 When planning a cruise I always play around on the Cruise Critic Boards....here is the link if you are not familar with it....just like the disboards--lots of good info! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/ Have fun planning! :cool1:

As far as changing to CBR, I think that the beach theme has been in your mind from the getgo! ;)

stepdisney, I read your post over on AKL thread, I still circuit the thread because I just love that resort and haven't even stayed there yet.;) But you will have a WONDERFUL time at WL! We'll still need to arrange our DIS meet.

disneydad, See you egged it on! :lmao: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at CBR and that the pool is great. It always makes me feel better to read a good review of the resort we've chosen.

Carol/houston, You're right, I was looking for the tropical theme. But now WL is on my list. Thanks for the link. Like I said, it's been a few years since we've cruised. We've only gone on Soveriegn of the Seas 3 nights both cruises. I'm glad to hear good things about Key West. I've always wanted to go there.

jbmom, Thanks for joining in. I'm sure you didn't know what you were getting yourself into w/ this pre trip. If it weren't for my signature I wouldn't know what resort we are staying at. Also thanks for the info on Key West. It really looks like such a beautiful place!

Here's what we've got on our ADRs and I'm needing help w/ the 9/5, please!

9/2 Kona dinner
9/3 O'hana dinner
9/4 Chef Mickey's dinner
9/5 Whispering Canyon breakfast
9/6 Crystal Palace dinner
9/7 Coral Reef dinner

Ok, here's the problem. 9/5 is AK's evening EMH's. My plan is to sleep in and enjoy the pool then head over to AK later in the day and stay for EMHs. I really don't want to get up early hitch a ride to MK then catch a boat to WL that early in the morning. I had thought about Donald's @ AK but again, I'd rather stick around the resort and just have breakfast there. So what's your thoughts on lunch at Cap'n Jacks in DTD? Or do you have ANY suggestions? We're not going to park hop because we've got a plan now and there's no need for the hoppers. Where can we get a great lunch that? We'll probably eat dinner at AK at it will be a CS, Flametree is my guess on that. Please somebody help! :)
