It was Donder, but Gene Autry changed it when he sang Rudolph. That's what I heard on TV or the radio the other day. Since Donder is more traditional, I've taken to saying it.

Actually, as I was Googling the topic, I found this:

The truly "original" name was Dunder, then changed to Donder and/or Donner.
