Since first staying at SSR via Disney in Oct 2014 on a "one time trip", we become members and added on twice. I don't even want to think abut that "one time trip" has cost in dollars but rather all the amazing trips we have shared with family and friends from gifts for honeymoons to family reunions.
After OKW next week I will have stayed at all resorts save HHI & VB. And after all the sleeping around, I realize that I have exactly the right homes for us (VGF, AUL, VGC) and am ready to settle down and not mess with that darn 7 mo window anymore! The one temptation would be BWV which of all the others is the closest to my heart.
Who else has sworn off the DVC vagabond life?

Us too pretty much. We bought in 2006 and have tried all east coast DVC except VGF and, soon to open, RR. We know which we prefer and they are pretty much our home resorts of BWV and HHI. We also like to occasionally also do SSR and AKV which are easy to get at 7 months. We owned at AKV actually and resold since we can book there at 7 months out. Also owned at OKW and just resold that because it was our least fave to stay at, and we like SSR which can be booked at 7 months out. Plus SIL owns AKV and SSR and we could trade if needed. We also added on 70 CCV last year and that was a mistake. We like it enough over there, at both VWL resorts, but aren't big MK folks plus 70 points won't get us much. So maybe a Dec trip every 3 years. But we're now doing a lot of HHI trips and maybe going back to one WDW trip a year which we'll book a split stay with a good chunk at BWV and then add 2-3 nights at SSR one year and AKV the next.

We are almost always at AK. But BWV is a favourite. If I can secure it at seven months, we like being there. Doesn’t always work out though. I am perfectly content at AK. Probably won’t try Riviera. Too many points.

:worship:Best thread title of the year!

we bought where we wanted to stay, then DVC had the nerve to add on both monorail resorts & AKV, hmmph. Went with the latter for lower value point accommodations.

Added on to AKV, twice, really like it there. Did the dance a few times for the monorail properties, rarely bother any longer.

We still have a few left to try out, but we’d be happy staying at our homes - BCV & SSR.

Super excited for the refurb to finish at SSR so we can book our first full week stay there in a 1 bd which will actually have 3 sleeping surfaces. The other 3 surface 1 bds - besides OKW which we haven’t yet tried out - are either too point heavy (VGF, BLT, DRR), or too isolated (AKV).

We also want to try out OKW. I think we’ll like the 1 beds there too!

We own SSR and since the kids are grown we can enjoy the 1 bed again. I'm looking forward to the refurb. We really like VGF, but the points are so high for a week's stay.

I own at BWV, AKV and VGF. I’ve used my points at SSR, OKW, CCV, BCV and BLT but truth be told, I like my home resorts the best. I won’t say that I’m done sampling the other resorts. I have a RIV reservation booked that I’m not sure that I’ll keep. But if I never try another resort, I’ll be content with what I have.

My favorite resorts are VGF and BWV. I still own BWV but sold VGF a few years back to buy double SSR points since the plan is to go monthly for 3 or 4 nights now that I just retired. So, I’ll stay at BWV for Food and Wine or Flower and Garden but then use SSR to trade out at 7 months to VGF or other MK resorts when I can. Of course, with 800 points now I can book 1 bedrooms if need be. While I have stayed SSR and it is a wonderful resort, those points are really to use elsewhere.

I still haven’t tried all of the resorts. Still want to stay at BCV and BLT. I really love my home resorts, and that is what is keeping us from trying the above resorts. I may just have to breakdown and book a split stay but we are not fans of this either.

We have been in all current resorts, and mostly we book in Home Resort priority, but we do not own every where. I don’t consider it “sleeping around.”

We are closing on AKV contract right now but we definitely still sleep around. I love visiting all the resorts almost as much as the parks themselves.

We never really have been. Once in a while we do a different resort - usually on behalf of guests of ours, and always say we like BWV just fine and why did we bother. The exception in HHI, but that isn't really sleeping around.

SSR is going to be a contender again after the refresh and with everything DS now has to offer. A beautiful property and the one that got us started!

It's amazing to me that BC costs more than BWV. It seems like for as much as folks talk about BLT, AKV etc, BWV may be the most loved. But even when we stayed there and ended up on the monorail for some reason, we would all stick our bottom lip out when we passed GF. Home sweet home. Can't wait to walk to MK!

I asked my husband which of our homes was his fave and he couldn't choose but with gun to the head we both said VGC.

I tried to book a studio for January (never tried for a studio) OMG that was not fun. Watching days disappear and then nothing or a day or to blocked. Too much stress for me! 11-7 months or bust!

We have rented points at several of the resorts, but have not slept around much on our own points since becoming members. We own at BWV and BLT (love skipping buses when we can) so we will most often just stay there.

We will likely take our girls to AKV at some point and I love the VWL/BRV lodge so will likely try that at some point. We are probably 50% settled in our home resorts with so many others to explore. I think we will definitely stray to the Poly, BRV and AKV over the next several years. We may also switch over to BCV again if/when we do a summer trip and do more pool days than park days.

It is awesome to just have the options to consider.

I'm a "sleeper-around-er!" My favorite WDW resort is the one I'm currently booked at--whichever one that turns out to be (with one exception--there's one where I had such a bad CM experience that I don't ever want to return there)...I own at SSR and at BCV and love both--but also love the other resorts, too. I've stayed at all the WDW DVC resorts (no trip w/Riviera yet booked, but since it's not yet open, I guess I can still say "I've stayed at them all")--I'm really happy to return to any of them and I miss each of them when it's been "too long" since I've been there...so does that make me "Disney promiscuous?"

I'm jealous that you've been that many times in 5 years lol. But we went for the 1st time in May and are seriously contemplating buying so i'm following all these threads. We tried to rent points for our trip in Jan but were unable to, so we are staying in a normal room at the Poly (hopefully discounts will come out).

Yeah, my DH only agreed to go that first time because it was our tenth anniversary and he let me choose anywhere without making exceptions first haha. He was dragged there at LOVED it and the rest is history. Aulani helps too.

You're going to love it! Just don't plan on it saving you money in life overall, just on the room because its a total addiction. I have felt like the resorts are pokemon- gotta stay in em all! The real beauty is that there is a resort for every taste.
