the camera bag, of course!

We are leaving for WDW this coming Saturday for a quick 4-day trip :woohoo: and I'm hoping to make the most of it, photographically speaking. To make sure I didn't have any horror stories about leaving chargers/memory cards/etc. at home I made sure to pack my bag today and will double-check before leaving.

Originally I was planning to travel light....

Well that idea went out the window! I started packing my Kata backpack and unfortunately (or maybe fortumately) everything I own fit inside with the exception of one lens and my speedlight. :hyper:

I'll be bringing:

  • D90
  • D7000 (not mine)
  • Lensbaby
  • Nikon 10.5 fisheye
  • Nikon 18-55 kit lens (not mine but wanted to bing it for fireworks)
  • Sigma 30/1.4
  • Nikon 50/1.2
  • Nikon 85/1.8
  • Nikon 180/2.8
  • Ballhead
  • ND filters
  • Memory cards
  • Cable release
  • Chargers, extra batteries
  • Rocket blower/lens pens
  • Extra strap

Am I missing anything? I'll be shipping my tripod down in advance since I don't trust it in checked luggage and would hate to be told I can't take it carry-on.

With all of this crap packed...who wants to take bets on the fact that half of that stuff won't even make it out of our hotel room? :upsidedow

With only four days down there, I won't be doing any Groucho-esque live updates that include pictures, but I'll definitely post as I process once I get home.

Looks like you pretty much have it all ... have a great trip and bring home some awesome pics!!

Have fun Ann!! Let us know what you think of the D7000. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great trip, but I want to see your list for the shots you want to get!
We will be there in a couple of weeks on a short tirp and will be leaving the kiddos at home. I am a little overwhelmed that I will actually have all the time I want to shoot and know I'm not sure where to start.
Have a great time!:yay:

Honestly I don't have a list. Pictures are important to me, but more importantmis enjoying my trip. I know I want to get some better fireworks shots than I did in 09, and I know i want to spend some time on the Jungle Treks in AK, but I'm not one for preplanned shots---which is why I will come home with far less impressive shots to put on flickr than many others...but that does not bother me!

Looking forward to seeing your pics! :goodvibes (Easy on the butt shots! :lmao: )

:rotfl: :rotfl:

If there are any gorillas or tigers in perfect butt shot position, you know I'm gonna have to snap one just for you now Linda! :thumbsup2

Alright everyone, I leave for the airport at 3:00am EST, which is approximately 7.5 hours away. I'm just double-checking my camera bag, making sure I have the house straightened for when I return (although I'm sure that after 4 days alone, DH will have sufficiently messed it up by the time I return) and getting ready to get some shut-eye.

Tomorrow we will be spending in the Magic Kingdom.
Sunday we will spend in the Magic Kingdom for a pre-park breakfast and then DHS for the evening since my Mom wants to see Fantasmic.
Monday we will be at Animal Kingdom in the morning and Epcot in the evening.
Tuesday we will be at DHS for the morning and then either Epcot or MK again for the afternoon/evening before we have to get the Magical Express at 6:30. :sad2:

It'll be a quick trip, but I'm looking forward to a break from all this cruddy Northeastern winter weather!

Wish me luck!!! :woohoo:

Again, have fun! My DD and her significant other are getting on DME as I write on the way to POP for a long weekend trip.

Here's wishing you buckets of luck, tons of great pictures and shoulders full of sunshine! Are you flying from Philly, Atlantic City or Baltimore again? I will do my good weather Voo doo dance to keep away the airport delays.

This is what it looks like:
