*Done! 3/6* Dec 2012 -The awesome now TR report that lacks a catchy title - Done!

Joining in! Your girls are adorable! Can't wait to read more. How awesome for the family line to open up basically just for you. We are flying Southwest for the first time in March. I've heard great things about them, so I am looking forward to it!

Hi!! We love Southwest - after dealing with United for my mom and MIL, I would never consider another airline unless the flight was dirt cheap. The fact you can rebook and no penalty is great, the service is awesome (for an airline) and being able to check luggage when toting children is great... The tickets may be a little more by a few dollars but the whole checking luggage thing makes up for it... I am not a huge fan of picking your seats as you go, however, we just get the Early Bird Check in and rarely have an issue.... I can't wait to read more about your trip in march - now that I am finally on the right thread! Hahaha!

Wow, you had one busy day!! Between changing resorts, AK, food shopping, DTD, Cali Grill and MK I'm exhausted just reading about it! :lmao:

Haha yeah so am I!! However, we didn't do a ton in the parks- took our time and soaked it in. :)

Forgot to add this DH and my mom on EE!

I didn't even realize you'd started your trip report!

Yeah… it took me 5 minutes and then 15 minutes in the parking lot searching for her… Because of course… My phone died… I was starting to feel as if I should build a shelter in the parking lot because I would never leave.

:rotfl:

It's so awesome you could bring your BIL and SIL to surprise your MIL. I love surprises like that.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. :)

Hi Sarah! Yay, you are doing a TR. Bummer that you weren't feeling well... what lousy timing. Your daughters are incredibly ADORABLE!!! Love the photos! Thanks for sharing - you've done a GREAT job! :goodvibes

Sunday December 2nd

So sorry this update took so long to post. We went to NJ/PA last week for a few days to see family. I enjoyed way too much food and had some fun. Also, I shattered my iPhone screen - that's been a blast but had me doing some research on my purchasing options and what I wanted to get... I should have an iPhone 5 by the end of the day... Ahhh So day three! Yeah I am realizing how cloudy my memories are from being sick and taking so much decongestants! At least I took a couple photos and had photopass to remind me of a few of our adventures :)

So this morning was an early ADR at Chef Mickey’s! Last year Zoey was enamored with Minnie Mouse (she still is, but now Minnie has some other competition!) We had some awesome moments because she was in heaven when she met her then – needless to say we were excited for character interactions with the Fab Five this year. We arrived about on time, and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table; this was not too bad even with starving children because we had Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to entertain all of us in the waiting area! The food was typical generic Disney buffet, nothing sticks out to me, and nothing was amazing to me, the service was ok. I was disappointed in our server; there were 5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. My BIL was not eating, because he is just not a breakfast eater (I can relate neither am I!) and it would have been nice for our server to say that regardless of how many of us were paying, he would still be charged. Now, I understand why he was charged, however, she could have mentioned something politely, also we were in need of coffee and she repeatedly neglected to bring the mugs we needed and coffee (We ended up sharing!!) … This is where the automatic gratuity with TiW and large parties is annoying… Well enough complaining! We were next door to the Magic Kingdom!! This happens to be my favoritest place on earth! And we were in Chef Mickey’s and we were meeting and greeting with the Fab 5!! All in all our character interactions were very good, my daughter was so happy and Olive was starting to show interest. We had a great time regardless of the whole breakfast nonsense. So after packing everything up and snagging a banana for the road we were off to the Magic Kingdom….

She looks so happy to me here…

So this was the big question of the moment… By car to TTC, by foot or by monorail. If you guessed monorail you were correct!!! So after some interesting work Zack finally got the double stroller up the escalator because apparently the elevator near the monorail had just gone down… I don’t know how he did it, and I am not asking questions – Zoey and I had run off and left him and Olive in the dust and the rest of the group followed, only when it was a few minutes later and the monorail was getting ready to leave did we start to care… Hehe… Sorry hun! However to my defense, I do have a cell phone and he didn’t call or text for help…. So off we go on the monorail – now, if we would have walked over we would have made it for rope drop. Kinda disappointed by this, but not really, my MIL, SIL and BIL had never been on the monorail before so it was more of a ride than a form of transportation. It was fun and this was the pace of our vacation, more about hanging out that getting from place to place as fast as we could….
DSCN2679.jpg

Monorail!

So, we got to MK and go through security and the turnstiles…. Then we waited out front while my SIL and BIL activated their military tickets they purchased on base. It was a great deal (I am thinking like $150-$160 for 4 day park hoppers) and I love that Disney offers some fabulous deals to our service members, they deserve it!! Well, my MIL was off taking pictures and took this one. I love it! I am so happy to be at MK, but then my husband is eating the banana we snagged from Chef Mickey’s… This seems to happen a lot, I am trying to teach him that he needs to be a little more attentive to cameras pointed his way (ahem… photopass+ wasn’t free dude!) So after the side trip to activate tickets at Guest Relations off we go!!!
DSCN2683-1.jpg

So what ride to go on first…. My whole touring plan is now flying out the window…. They only have 4 days in the world with us…. What should we do, what’s iconic, what do they want to do… So I ask, the reply, “Oh we will just follow you!” Argh!! Do you know what inner turmoil this sometimes causes for me!! I just kinda want everyone to be happy, at this moment I didn’t have a huge list of things I wanted to do, I just wanted everyone to have fun… So we stop and get a few photopass pictures and decide we need to go to Fantasyland, and what is a more iconic first ride than the Teacups!!!! Ok, this is probably my 2nd favorite attraction in the Magic Kingdom, so I am so happy!! We are off to the Tea Cups and the wait is next to nothing, 5 minutes tops…. We split off into two cups, one for the super spinners (Zoey, MIL and me!) and then for the gentle spinners (Zack, Olive, SIL & BIL) and oh my god we had so much fun!! My Zoey was yelling “Weeeeeee” the entire time and laughing and giggling… Which happens to be very contagious!

Zoey loves this picture!

Teacups!

So, we have our first ride under our belt and I take charge and tell everyone we are checking out FLE! Well, we go over to Enchanted Tales with Belle… The posted wait time was like 60 mins… Argh, no way we were going to wait, then we go check out the new Little Mermaid ride, the posted wait was about 15 minutes- this is doable! So, we venture on through the queue… It was even more awesome waiting in line today in the daylight, and while we actually waited and had to look at all the details… Zoey and I followed the blue crab and it was like a fun game for us… So the wait was probably closer to 10 minutes, so as we approach the clam shells we decide what our groups will be. This time Zoey and I had my SIL & BIL while Zack & Olive had my MIL. Again this ride was soooo much fun for all of us, growing up Ariel was my SIL favorite and Zoey just loved it all… There was one person who wasn’t having any fun at first…. Olive… Something about dark tunnels upset her… And she was wailing! Once we had gotten under the sea all was well… I made a mental note, next ride like this for DH’s enjoyment I will take Olive…. After all the fun we got off and looked at the construction walls housing the Mine Train…. I cannot wait for them to finish so that the new FLE has a better flow. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but we were more caught up in the moment than our cameras! So, we start walking out and ETwB was still a very long wait… Well you know what; it’s time to go on the other Magic Kingdom classic… DUMBO!!! Off we went to Dumbo and the wait was only 5 minutes. We didn’t even check out the new queue and basically just walked on. For this ride my BIL decided to run off to the rest room and wait for us at the end. We figured out our groups, Zack & Olive, MIL & Zoey (This is where I decided I needed to share her more!) and SIL & Me…. I really love what they have done with this ride, the 2nd set, the water, the queue… Everything. It doesn’t feel like a fair ride anymore but an attraction. While, I miss Mickey’s Toontown, this is a great use of the space. So we had a blast on Dumbo and we were off to Zoey’s favorite ride…..

Dumbo!

Ok, so Zoey is an adrenaline junkie… Both my kids love climb, jump and are daredevils… Zoey would have loved every thrill ride in WDW… however she missed the height requirement by about an inch. Bummer. Luckily there was the Barnstormer, this ride has impacted much of our daily life… I live in the White Mountains of NH, so needless to say the area can been hilly at times… Well since that ride when we drive up hills she yells, squeals, and screams “Up Up Up up Up Up!!!!!” and of course “Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” as we drive down hills… Well, Zack and Zoey went on the Barnstormer, with my SIL & BIL. Olive, my MIL and I hung around and checked out the gift shop. It was pretty awesome!! I try to look at everything and buy what I really want at the end, but I wanted a ton of things from in there!!! After about 15 minutes we decided to go to the restrooms, so we headed over to the one near Pinocchio Village Haus, we took turns while Olive munched on a few snacks and I texted Zack of our new location. They met up with us about 5 minutes later. It was pretty close to lunch/nap time and I had a pedicure appointment!! We had time for one more ride…. So we ventured off to Frontierland and got on Splash Mountain! It was a fairly short wait and Zack fed the kiddos lunch while we went on. However, it was time to go when we got off. We started leaving and go right to the front on Main Street… And all of a sudden music started playing, Zoey started dancing so we had to stay for the parade! We walked back and picked our car up from the Contemporary.

Photo0020FourBySix.jpg

So we headed back to the room, it was really close to my appointment time so I scarfed down a salad and ran and picked up a friend who was staying at THV. We had an appointment at Spa at Saratoga Springs…. Like always it was AMAZING!! We had the same women from our last trip and they were great! I picked out a dark blue/black and my friend picked out a very festive red. We relaxed, talked and hung out and the 50 minutes was up far too soon!! Once we were ready to go I purchased some more polish (Yes, on my last trip Zack smashed my foot and destroyed one of my toe nails, literally hours after having it done, I thought this measure would reduce my chance and almost act as insurance…. I was correct and it worked!) And I stopped for a few minutes to visit with her family at the pool that was next door…. Then I was heading back to OKW.

So, during naptime I am pretty sure my SIL & BIL went to the Animal Kingdom; I vaguely remember bringing them hoodies to Epcot…. Actually yes that is exactly what happened! So the plan for the evening was to go get dinner in Epcot. We called my SIL & BIL and told them to meet us there. My mom and MIL took her rental with the handicapped parking, Zack and I parked regular and what do you know my SIL & BIL ended up parking the next row down! Our timing was awesome!

So we go through security and bag checks and meet up with the moms. We walk in and take the icon that is Epcot…. Spaceship Earth! Zoey loved this ride, which I thought was great. However, it had that whole dark tunnel feel so I took Olive…. We all separated into 2’s and got on – there was no wait at all. I really enjoy this ride and I don’t get why it is always empty… Well as we go through Olive starts to get upset. So I sang her the ABC’s and it worked!! I found a cure for her when she got upset on rides, and apparently only I could sing it right. Kids are too funny. Well we sang our ABCs she settled in and off to a relaxing ride. Zack said he and Zoey had fun, except she chose Spanish as the language, which in its own way was funny!

We were now off to the World Showcase for dinner; except it was already getting late and we had tickets to MVMCP! So we stopped for a photopass picture (which came out blurry.. Boo!) and headed to France and Morocco for dinner. We ended up with a smorgasbord of food and shared. It was tasty but our night was ending because Zack and I had a date night in MK. So off we go back to OKW!
Our MVMCP date night was a flop. By the time we got back to the room, I was rundown and tired, and just not feeling well. I took a bunch of decongestants, Tylenol you name it…. I felt a little better so we headed out. Off to MK – our night could have been better salvaged if I would have made some coffee in the room, or if we would have gone and got coffee prior to MK. Coffee is my cure all for so many things, I love it, it loves me and it just helps me be more effective. Well, we got to MK and I believe the parade was running, however, I needed to pick up our party tickets and upgrade my UT ticket to a DVC PAP. So there was no line and this was a quick painless transaction! Yaaay! The CM was nice and chatted with us through the process. So with party tickets in hand we went into MK… The parade was going but we had thought that we would catch the later parade so we went to MSB…. After all it has been the topic of many DIS discussions over the past few months. We got some sort of blended coffee in both Mocha and Vanilla and a cinnamon bun. The coffee was absolutely disgusting, I tried soooo sooo hard to drink it, it was like $5 and I couldn’t… Both flavors…. Horrible… They were thrown out shortly after purchasing them. I’m not going to comment on the cinnamon bun, because overall I do not like cinnamon buns, I like one kind only, and that is fresh from King Arthur’s Bakery in VT (This is one of the most amazing bakeries ever and well, I would like to have them there instead of Starbucks, because the treats are so tasty and they do very well in the coffee department as well!) So after throwing out ½ of the cinnamon bun (it was too much for DH) we walked over to Tomorrowland and went on Space Mountain. This took all of 5 minutes and one of the things I love about the parties. The “Thrill” rides always require swapping and it can take up so much time – so we wanted to get our fill at the party so we wouldn’t have to do a rider swap because of the kiddos. I love Space Mountain, apparently when I was three I could sit on my moms lap for this ride, or the seat set up was waaay different (this was in 1983) but this was my favorite ride then. We went to WDW in 1983 and then again in 1993 (my grandmother had terminal cancer) Well, from 83-93 I had reoccurring dreams of that tunnel in the beginning mixed with Snow White’s Scary Adventures and Mr. Toads Wild Ride….Going on these rides in 1993 was like a revelation…
Well after checking out our horrible photopass pic we started to head to IASW – and Holiday Wishes started!! We were near the carousel and this is by far one of my favorite viewing spots now!! I loved Holiday Wishes and it was pretty fabulous. I got some okay pics and once the crowd cleared we continued our journey to IASW- this is where I got very ill feeling. Something wasn’t sitting right and I felt like junk from this ride, I literally had my head in my hands between my legs. I felt horrible and couldn’t wait to get off. It sucked, I was bummed, being sick had a lot of downsides :( So we walked around, and went into that shop across from Columbia Harbour house and relaxed. We then crossed back over and had hot coco and cookies. We tried to find a dimly lit area because my head was still feeling cruddy. Then, I figured I paid money for this, lets tough it out and do a few more rides. Our plan, the Haunted Mansion (3rd on my favorite MK attractions) DH had not experienced the new queue on our last trip so we played around – there was barely anyone there and we goofed off as we pleased! He really enjoyed the queue and then we went on the ride. This, as always is awesome! After that we headed to BTMRR – and it was awesome as well…. And finally we went on Splash Mountain (Tied in the 1st spot for MK favorites!) We were alone on our log flume and got an awesome photopass picture!! Well, I was done and starving…. So we decided to leave the party and go to the Contemporary.

Love this decoration on the Contemporary!

We walked up to the Contempo Café and had a burger. It was great, I needed food and it hit the spot. We sat in a practically empty room and enjoyed our burger, which had a massive amount of extra pickles… I then wished we could magically transport to our room because I was so done for the day. However, I managed really well, considering I felt so horrible, my kids were sick and this wasn’t part of the plan. We finished eating, drank some water, and looked at the espresso in the fridge (shook our heads in shame) and then went back to OKW…. And crashed….

Up Next….. DHS and CRT!

I didn't even realize you'd started your trip report!

:rotfl:

It's so awesome you could bring your BIL and SIL to surprise your MIL. I love surprises like that.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. :)

Haha I'm glad someone found my being lost in WM parking lot entertaining... :) I wasn't alone out there either! Yeah, the surprise was awesome - we had such a great trip and missed being with family so much. We can't wait to do it again!

Hi Sarah! Yay, you are doing a TR. Bummer that you weren't feeling well... what lousy timing. Your daughters are incredibly ADORABLE!!! Love the photos! Thanks for sharing - you've done a GREAT job! :goodvibes

We all did great despite being sick. It was lousy timing but there will be other times! We still had a great time. And thank you, I feel so lucky to have two such beautiful and wonderful children! I hope to have trips like you and Em when they are older :D Also - you guys are going to love FLE on your next trip!!

Sounds like you had a great day, minus not feeling well! You still made the best out of it though!

How could I not! I really wish we could have done more- I wanted to meet characters, see the parade etc... However next time will be better!

Day 4!

So it’s Monday…. Day 4 of our trip! We have been having such a great time. Today was our Hollywood Studio morning. We got up and out pretty good today (considering we were all sicky slow pokes by this point!!) However, we weren’t fast enough to get to Hollywood Studios for Rope Drop. We showed up shortly after and there was some congestion at the main entrance.

So we start moving it to Pixar Place to get Fastpasses to Toy Story Mania…. Except the Fastpass return time was for like 1:30-2… Yeah that wasn’t happening! We were hoping to be back at our villa by then for naptime! So we go stand by… For 30 or so minute wait. It wasn’t bad, but it was long when you have a 3 year old and 18 month old in tow… Thankfully they both love Toy Story and they enjoyed all the oversized toys in the queue. So Zack, Olive and my MIL go together, Zoey and I take another car and my SIL & BIL go together. We had so much fun – and Zoey was hilarious! She thought she was doing awesome but she managed to hit only one target. It was so much fun; I wish we had gotten there a little earlier so we could have had Fastpasses and potentially do it twice.

Olive outside the new Pirates attraction…. I guess she wanted to go… We didn’t make it this year though…

So, after Toy Story Mania we headed over to Sunset Blvd to go on Tower of Tower and Rockin’ Roller Coaster. As we were walking by we were forced to stop by Zoey to some group of singer/dancers singing some dance teeny bopper music… I know that my daughter is going to love dance music… It sorta scares me!! She bopped away and had fun and eventually the novelty wore off and we were back on track. Off we go! So our next stop was Photopass pictures with the ToT in the backdrop! Zack & Zoey did a funny picture where you are supposed to look scared… Well for all you Mickey Mouse Clubhouse watchers – I swear he is calling for Toodles!!

Photo0028FourBySix_zps7808683d.jpg

So we go on ToT first. Zack stays outside with the girls and the rest of us head on. About 20-30 minutes later they come out and we take advantage of our rider swap passes and we head on again! This time it is Zack, SIL and me. I love ToT – the themeing is fantastic. I would honestly love to stay in a hotel that was like that, there is something so “classy” about that time period… On the 2nd time up we had the creepiest CM for our elevator – he was really made for the part!! We had a few jokes about his job application process… Basically all ending in them putting him at ToT… So after all that fun on ToT we were off to Rockin’ Roller Coaster!!

Photo0029FourBySix_zps0fe63bde.jpg

While Zack, my SIL & BIL went on RnR we hung outside with the kiddos. We fed them lunch while we waited… Which felt like forever! :) We goofed off for a while and sooner than later they were out! Then again taking advantage of our rider swap passes. We went on (some of us for a 2nd time!) and had a blast. While we were walking out my SIL said we needed to go on a ride geared more for the kids because she felt bad that she was having so much fun on rides and they were not. This made me happy; it is so nice to have people in your life that care about others (especially your kids!) So as we are walking out of the RnR area Zack and I decided to head back to the room for nap time. Everyone was going to come with us but I told them to go and have fun and that we would meet up later at MK. So on the way out we got some photopass pictures.
Photo0034FourBySix_zps3e03cfe3.jpg

So Zack and I went back to the room and relax and the girls took a nap. I had cancelled my facial appointment at the spa for today because I didn’t feel like rushing around. I am actually glad I did because doing nothing for 2 hours was great! We hung out and got excited to go to CRT for dinner! We were never able to get my SIL & BIL added to this ADR – so I packed them dinner (sandwiches and snacks!) We packed everything up and headed off to MK.

So we met up with the rest of our family and headed inside… I had one request for this trip and it was very important… To me :) I wanted to ride the train around MK, our past 2 trips this had not happened because trying accommodate what everyone wanted. We are starting to discover who we like to vacation with. So far it seems to be just DHs family. They are easy going, fun, no drama people… So off we go to ride the train! We left our stroller and decided to take the full loop. I love the train and it might be my favorite ride in MK. It was so relaxing and we enjoyed hanging out together.

Peeeeeek aaaa booo!

So after the train ride we had one place to be! Cinderella’s Castle!!! Yay! We went and checked in and after a short wait we were heading to the waiting area to meet Cinderella. Well, Cinderella was absolutely AMAZING!! Zoey was in awe and in love with her. It was by far the best experience we had at MK. The photopass photographer took a lot of great pics and made it so worth having PP+ After meeting Cinderella we went to dine in the castle. We had a lovely table, right to the side of the window. It was so awesome. The food was very good and our server was awesome. I believe his name was Jason (probably why I should have written this report sooner!!) All of a sudden we notice something going on next to us… It was a young couple and he was proposing!! She said yes!! The whole room erupted in applause and congratulations and it was a wonderful. It must have been planned with Disney because there was a photopass photographer just for them. They had a million pictures taken and the newly engaged couple got to show off in front of the princesses! The princesses fawned over her and the it was so magical. I also believe the photopass photographer stayed through almost the whole meal afterwards. Well, as the princesses came through Zoey was so excited, she was so incredibly happy. :D This was so great for us and made this meal a must do on our next trip. We had our desserts, and Zoey ate just the frosting and sprinkles while Olive painted the frosting on the table (I did clean it up!) This night couldn’t possibly get any better!! I have to say our server was awesome – he really did a fabulous job and added so many great touches. He was very attentive and the fact that he brought my 18 month old a pizza and her own cupcake (we didn’t pay for her) was great. Zoey and Olive shared most meals and we always had our own food for her, but the fact that he did this really made an impact on our experience. We left feeling very happy and couldn’t wait to catch up with my SIL & BIL to tell them our fun.

Even Olive liked Cinderella!

Ariel :) So this is all I got for inside the castle, between others flashes and the lighting I wasn’t happy with many of them…

So we met outside the castle by the carousel. It was close to the time of the Main Street Electrical Parade so we headed over to Liberty Square in hopes of catching a glimpse. We were able to get a decent spot where we could see. Zoey and Olive loved this parade with all the lights and music. This was a must on my mom’s list so I was glad to get to it, since I think it was the only night we were in MK for this parade.

So after the awesome parade…. We took some pictures.

DSCN2769_zps234deb79.jpg

Then after a short debate we headed back to Fantasyland… It was time to watch Wishes!! This was turning into the best day ever. While we waited both my mom and MIL realized they had dead batteries in their cameras. I told everyone I would be right back and ran over to the shop that was outside Mickey’s Philharmagic. I surprised them with some overpriced Rayovac batteries, which I had gotten 20% off on with my PAP discount (made it a little easier to justify the purchase) They were both happy and I knew in the end it was easier than making a trip to Walmart for batteries! (and with gas and time probably cheaper!) So with Zoey on Zack’s shoulders we watched Wishes! I think I got a little over emotional a few times – Zoey was so happy, and the smiles on both her and Zack’s faces made my heart smile. Something about Disney fireworks is truly magical.

So after all was over we decided it was time to take our two exhausted kids home. We were all exhausted and my mom made one last stop at the confectioner while we got outside the gates and waited at the entrance of the ferry. About 15 minutes later my mom showed up and we headed out on the next boat. This boat ride was rather annoying. I was standing with my double stroller to the side. There is a ton of people ahead of me and very little standing room. This guy proceeded to smash into my stroller to get by with his. I couldn’t move without hitting someone else, and this guy smashed into the side of my stroller repeatedly! Deep breaths, nothing is going to make you lose your temper. Lucky for him Zoey was with my husband (oh if he would have come close to hitting my daughter it would have been over!) and Olive was on the opposite side. After I gave him a dirty look, he stopped, and all was good again (I was so happy the part of me that can be a condescending jerk didn’t make an appearance!) If I could have gotten out of the way I would have and some people just don’t get it…. So after all that fun we were off to the car.

We got to the car, and headed back to the villa. We got the girls in bed and everyone comfortable. Then we opened a bottle of wine and relaxed. I ended up going to bed shortly after half a glass of wine because I became very dizzy (thinking it was from my decongestants) but all was good and I could use the rest anyway…. Especially since tomorrow was going to be EXTRA special…. We were celebrating a birthday!!! I couldn’t wait – it was a surprise and well… Surprises are awesome…..

Coming up next…. Tuesday at Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

Sounds like a great day! I love the peekaboo picture, and Zoey's face in that picture with Jasmine. Haha.

She thought she was doing awesome but she managed to hit only one target.

I have the same experience when I play! :)

Thanks :) Peek a boo is one of our favorite games and I love that picture. The Jasmine picture I can just see Zoey thinking - "you should put more clothes on!"

Thanks for reading! I'm finally starting to catch up on everybody's it's been pretty busy here!

Oh my goodness those fireworks expressions are wonderful! I'm always too busy watching them to take pictures of the DH and kids ... will have to try to get some next time.
And now I'm disappointed that we missed Barnstormer! It wasn't on our priority list this past trip, but I'm going to have to put it on our list for November ...

Great report so far. I love Zoey's pics with jasmine and the fireworks. I'm impressed how the sinuses aren't getting you down.

It was one of those moments I loved my iPhone! I saw how happy she was and pulled it out of my pocket and went.

I wouldn't be too disappointed about missing the Barnstormer, it was the only "thrill" ride Zoey was tall enough for :) It's a great little kid roller coaster, which for us = awesome! I really can't wait for our next trip she should be able to go on Splash Mountain and BTR.

How is living in CA? Have you found a house yet?

Thanks! :) I think by Monday/Tuesday I found the right mix of meds ;) honestly it was too much fun to let it get to us. I still tell DH he owes us for getting us sick on vacation!

Tuesday

Today was going to be a great day! Today we had plans to go to Epcot in the morning. Every morning we got ready, and my mom would tell me she was staying in the room. She is a grump like that so by now I was very “whatever” about it. I decided I couldn’t make everyone happy and I wasn’t going to change up the kid’s days so we could start after lunch….

So, everyone else got ready, we got the kids together and we were off to Epcot! Within just a few moments we were pulling into the parking lot and unloading everything. We were here about 10 min before rope drop so there was quite a crowd up at the turnstiles and through bag check. We split into two groups and I grabbed all of our bags so that the kiddos and the guys could just head on over to see what they were going to do. Last year we went (I think it was last year) and we had seen the Fab 5 at rope drop – this year it was just confetti and streamers. I was disappointed by this but, ehh it wasn’t the end of the world! While they watched the confetti we went through bag check and met up just a few moments later. Now we were off to Epcot! The lines at the turnstiles were slow going until a few CM’s walked out with handheld scanners and started rushing people through. It was awesome, because instead of a 10 min wait it turned into a 10 second wait. We were off and into Epcot, all the Photopass Photographers were very busy so we kept going and figured we can stop another time.

While we were headed over to The Land to get fastpasses for Soarin’ we saw Daisy Duck!!! The line was short so we stopped for an autograph. :) These are some of my favorite pictures of Zoey with a character. She smiled really well and didn’t do anything too funny looking. Shortly after meeting Daisy Zoey saw Goofy nearby… Luckily he was already heading in for a break so we took this as our queue to go get our fastpasses.

So after getting our fastpasses we headed over to the Imagination Pavilion to waste some time. We went on the Figment ride and some of it scared Olive (the blowing particularly) She made it through it and before we knew it the ride was over. We then went into the imagination area and played around for a while. I love how this is always empty but really miss the old area that I remember being so much fun. I really think this pavilion could be so much better, with today’s technology it should honestly be a no brainer… I understand that Kodak is the sponsor and well that speaks for itself, but this is WDW…. This is one of my big WDW disappointments (along with the Wonders of Life Pavilion) after playing around for a while my MIL got Olive some very cute Minnie Mouse sunglasses and we went outside. The area directly outside is one of my favorite places. I love the jumping water and we played in this spot for a very long time! I realized how later it was getting and if we were going to make our ADR we needed go to the Land. So once again we were on the move.

Again, we split up to go on Soarin’, my MIL and Zack went on first while the rest of us waited outside. What I should have done here was taken the kids to the Living Seas; it must have taken them 35-40 minutes to get through the FP line and the actual ride. I wasn’t thinking and now I have a plan for next time :) After my they finally rejoined us, the rest of us hurried on in. I love Soarin’ and the smells of the pine forest (reminds me of hiking here at home!) and the orange groves…. Love it! So did my SIL & BIL. We were seated in one the middle rows on the right side – one of these days I will get in the middle!! So we basically walked right on, which was great because we ended up being in and out very quickly. I wanted to get moving to our ADR at the Coral Reef. I was super excited and couldn’t wait! So right after we got out we took the quite walk to The Living Seas, parked our stroller, and did what we did best this vacation…. Hung out for a bit! Olive again was hiding in the brush – it was so cute and thankfully she didn’t have any reactions to the different plants. After a few minutes of letting the girls get some energy out we were off to check in!

876BC95F-8298-4DC7-B030-D8D552E69F27-660-0000009C8D4CD624.jpg

It was just a few minutes before 11:30 and they hadn’t really started seating anyone. There was a decent crowd already waiting so once we checked in we stood to the side…. I was really hoping for a table near the tank and wasn’t feeling too optimistic. I wanted this to be a very special meal; we were surprising my SIL for her birthday with a cake. :D She had gone off to use the ladies room so while we were waiting I asked the hostess if she knew about our cake and celebration. I also wanted her to make sure that our server was aware it was a surprise… Well to add to my anxiety the Boardwalk Bakery had not delivered our cake yet!! :| I was a little worried but figured it would all work out. A few minutes later (with no one being the wiser!) we were being led to our table….

I wish I took a picture of the table because it was a booth directly across from the tank!!!! Wooo!!!! I was so happy and excited and everyone loved it. Zoey was having a wonderful time watching the tank and pointing at the fish. Olive was slightly amused by the tank, but seemed to want my phone more for watching MMC… We had a terrific server (I think his name was Brian?) He was very attentive and did and awesome job. We all had a seafood lunch and it was very good and well prepared. I had the Crab Cake appetizer and the goat cheese salad… Sooooo tasty!! I can’t remember what everyone else had, but there was lots of crab, lobster and fish on the table… I felt sort of bad that the fish were watching us eat other fish but soon got over it! After eating I went off to the restroom and our server had followed and tracked me down. He didn’t know who had the birthday surprise, so I filled him in and he assured me the cake had arrived and that he would bring it out to the table once I returned. So just a few minutes later he brought the cake, lit the candle and we sang Happy Birthday. It was so great! I had opted for a customized cake from the Boardwalk Bakery and it was a “Coral Reef” theme. The cake was beautiful and it tasted great (better than our cake from the Contemporary) The coral was made of hard sugar, which Zoey did try to eat (who wouldn’t want some pretty bright pink coral!) and she failed  Thankfully! So after cake and coffee we left. Our birthday surprise turned out great and my SIL was so happy and appreciative. It was wonderful. This was one of our favorite moments of vacation.

DSC_0525_zpsef5f357e.jpg

We then headed out to the Nemo ride; the girls enjoyed it as they enjoy Finding Nemo and the aquarium back home. It was late so we didn’t check out any more of the Living Seas (which was disappointing) but we were ready to take the kids back for a nap. I honestly can’t remember if we all went back to the villa, but I think we did. I think it was another lazy afternoon of sitting out on the balcony watching golfers’ play :)

So tonight was our HS night. The goal for tonight was Star Tours and Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights…. So first up Star Tours – one of my favorite rides :) I’m a Star Wars geek so I really enjoy it. I love that you have so many different experiences now – I think we have done most of them over the past 2 trips. I decided to sit outside with the girls outside of the exit for the Indiana Jones Stunt show. The girls were hungry so I fed them while we waited for everyone. I actually picked a great location, it was shady, I had some entertainment (the sounds of Indiana Jones!) and a trash can nearby. The wait for Star Tours was not long and everyone rejoined me rather quickly. So now it was my turn! I went on with my Mom and my MIL. My mom had a GAC card so we went in the handicapped entrance. On our way in I saw these guys and snapped a quick photo with my phone….

EEA00124-CA6C-4B14-A68A-B72574D455E1-660-0000009C288D722D.jpg

It wasn’t too much longer before we were on the ride. While my mom didn’t go out much with us on the trip she has quite a few health issues and the GAC card really helped her actually see quite a few attractions at night. I was very thankful for this. We were seated with next to two older women. They had also gone in the handicapped entrance but the CM’s forgot to give them 3D glasses, this was my good deeds of the day. I helped the one women buckle in, and then I got them 3D glasses. They were so nice and appreciative. :) I was glad to help them enjoy the ride.

After we rode Star Tours (which I love love love!) I wanted to go on again, but everyone was getting hungry. We went over to the Streets of America and it was getting close to the time they flip the switch! We went to the Backlot Express for a quick mediocre dinner. They were closing up, but we all managed to order and get what we needed. As we were eating our dinner the Osborne Lights turned on!! We quickly finished up and got outside….

We were all in awe. It was amazing!! I think we could have stood there all night. We hung out there for about an hour, milling about taking pictures, and listening to the music. If you weren’t in the Christmas spirit after seeing this you never will be!!! Amazing. Absolutely Amazing.

After we left the lights we took Zoey over to meet McQueen and Mater. She loves Cars (which makes Zack happy!) and she was being such a goof when she got her picture taken. We then were heading out to the parking lot. It didn’t take long before we were out by the buses, this is where we split up, we had Zack, the kiddos and my mom in the Handicapped parking and the rest of us in regular parking. We were pretty tired of walking at this point so opted to take the tram back to our car.

After getting back to the villa my MIL had agreed (again and so graciously) to watch the girls. I don’t trust my mom with them (which my MIL knows) and she was really good about just stepping in and taking care of them. We helped by getting them in pajamas and getting teeth brushed but she did the rest. Tonight was going to be a fun night; we were off to Epcot with my SIL & BIL….
We wanted to spend some time with them because we missed them. We have all been fairly close since I met DH almost 13 years ago. It’s amazing how much we missed them, and didn’t truly feel it until we saw them on Saturday. Today had been such a wonderful Disney Day too, what better way to end it than going to Epcot for fireworks. We arrived at Epcot and made it through bag check very quickly. We then stopped for photopass pictures! We then decided to see if we could get on Test Track because they were running a soft opening – we wandered over to the ride and the wait was RIDICULOUS! So yep, we skipped it. I was really hoping they could get on because this was their last night in WDW before they left

So off to the World Showcase – and we explored the countries. We started in Mexico and walked around and took in the atmosphere, I love the inside, and it has such a great feel. We of course tried on a few hats, by hats I mean sombrero, looked at Mexican Candy (I should have taken a picture some were pretty interesting!) and eyed up some liquor… Still feeling under the weather we skipped it though. We then went to Norway, eyed up the Nordic wear (living in NH warm clothes can be enticing….) and of course, we tried on more hats, and by more hats, I mean Viking helmets! A gracious CM took a group photo and I stole a phone shot and threatened to post it on Facebook of my DH and his helmet… :) We walked over to China, where we saw a less than happy Photopass Photographer who we forced to take our pictures – I have bad days too, but it is work…. We then went into the history exhibit in China, it was really great, I had seen a documentary on the underground tomb of China’s First Emperor, and they had replicas of the Terra Cotta Army and lots of interesting information. It was fascinating. We now were on a mission – we needed coffee so we headed over to the Italy. We got coffee, delicious coffee, and sat down near the fountain and enjoyed it. I love the World Showcase, the details in the countries and phenomenal. We sat down, talked about life, and enjoyed our coffee. Pretty soon they were announcing the start of Illuminations! We decided to head off to Japan to see what kind of view we could get. We walked around the shops and then headed outside… Yep, again Disney fireworks were awesome!! Loved it! We got some great pictures for not using a tripod and with our iPhones. I love Illuminations around the holidays, I’m a giant sap and the whole Peace on Earth thing is pretty awesome….

After Illuminations we were not ready to go back yet… We thought about the Boardwalk, DTD, and then we decided on FANTASIA MINI GOLF!!! Oh my gosh it was so much fun. We were the last group there, and for 4 of us with the PAP discount it was about $24!! What a deal!! I really wish I had taken some pictures, I love this mini golf course, and we had fun setting off the music and water…. It was a great time and the end of a great day :) It was close to 11:30 when we finished and decided it was time to call it a night. We finished up and headed back to OKW…. After all we had a pre park ADR for the Crystal Palace!!

Day 6

My SIL and BIL were up very early packing and getting everything together. They had other plans while in Florida to see family. After they were all packed up we headed off to the Magic Kingdom. We had some great pre park photos taken and I plan on printing quite a few of them and framing them. Early ADR’s are worth it for this very reason!! We had a great, cheery and happy Photopass Photographer, and we had fun getting our pictures taken.

Now, we headed to the Crystal Palace to meet Pooh and Friends! This is the one thing that always seems to happen; there is always an extended wait for CP, at least every time we go. So we hung around, took some pictures, and made the best of it. Finally our buzzer went off and it was time to go in. Eyeore was in the main entrance taking pictures, but shortly after we were seated the characters started coming around. We had some great interactions and got some adorable pictures. Apparently today was the day Olive fell in love with Tigger, giving him a kiss on the nose! When we were done eating and had met the characters we had gone to look for Eyeore… Now he was going around to the tables so we waited… Too long, but worth it for the kiddos. :)

So after breakfast we were heading out and stopped and got more Photopass pictures, another great photographer, who seemed to like us because we answered his trivia question correctly. He wanted to know the significance of the day…. I told him it was Walt Disney’s birthday! I guess we got bonus points. Well, he took some photos and timed it so that he got the fireworks from the stage show in front of the castle in the shot – it was funny, Zoey was too busy watching the show and his efforts were in vain. However, it tells a little story for us. My SIL & BIL decided to stay a bit longer and would head out at lunch. So we went to explore the Magic Kingdom. First stop the Jungle Cruise! A classic :) Zoey enjoyed it immensely, and pointed out so many of the animals and bugs. After that we headed off to the Pirates of The Caribbean, I was semi concerned it might scare Zoey but her love of Pirates prevailed. She loved it!! She still sings “yo ho yo ho a pirate’s life for me….” :) We then got more photopass pictures and headed off to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain. The wait was pretty long so we grabbed fastpasses and headed to the Haunted Mansion. Surprisingly, the beginning did not frighten Zoey but there were a few moments during the ride she did not care for. She didn’t seem very traumatized so we will try it again Jan 2014. By this time the girls were getting hungry so we stopped for a snack before heading back to BTMRR. When we got there, Zack and I decided we would skip it and take the girls to meet Jessie and Woody…. Well in the two minute walk over Olive fell asleep so Zack took Zoey to meet part of the Round Up Gang. During their wait I got to see Woody & Jessie exit, and grabbed a couple shots with my phone. They returned shortly and right in time my MIL, SIL & BIL returned to see her meet her “friends” After the M&G it was time for my SIL & BIL to leave, and we walked back to the Ferry and back to the parking lot of the TTC…. It was a tearful goodbye but we decided we wouldn’t let this much time ever get between us again.

We headed back for naptime and a quick lunch. Tonight we had great plans for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue! We had chosen the 4pm show due to naptimes etc. I was also hoping to catch Wishes! From the beach but that plan faltered (we did see some from the bus stop) so we went to Fort Wilderness, I have to say the setup they have to get the show is interesting and very time consuming. I am wondering if next time we go if it would be easier just to go to MK and take a boat there… I don’t think we will be doing HDDR for many years to come, unless we go with family who has never been before. We have gone 2 times in the past three years and that should suffice for a while. I do want to go back and explore Fort Wilderness more, it seems like it would be a great time, and also I do want to experience a carriage ride during the holidays to see the Christmas decorations the RV and Campers put up. We saw some on the bus ride and it was awesome!! We didn’t do it this trip because it would have separated us into 2 groups, which would have lessened the fun for us.

So we had some fun outside Pioneer hall while waiting for our picture and to be seated. A DVC salesman gave us a bunch of stickers which Zoey stuck all over Zack. We were seated for the show shortly after and like before had a great time. We had great seats for the show, we chose category A and our table was right next to the stage. We had quite a few interactions with the cast, and the only downside was that at times Zack literally had to keep Zoey from going on stage. I really love the food here, this is not food I normally would ever order anywhere and being that it is my only choice while here, I love it… Also, apparently my daughters love fried chicken too, because I think they ate more than I did!! I also did enjoy the holiday feel of the show, they sang Christmas carols and the hall was decked out as well. All and all a great experience! After the show we headed out, and headed back to our villa. After getting the girls to bed Zack and I went out again (Have I mentioned I love my MIL!!!) this time to DTD, we wanted to do some shopping and also needed to have pictures added to our photopass plus card from Cinderella, Chef Mickey’s and the HDDR.

Ok, parking at DTD is HORRIBLE!! We drove around forever looking for a spot. However finally we found one and headed in. We went to Guest Relations and had the pictures added and while the line was long it wasn’t too bad, minus the horrible headache I had developed. I hate sinus infections :( We tried to look in a few shops but I felt horrible, grumpy and was a pretty miserable person to be with. We tried to find Tylenol, advil anything, but everyone said you needed to go to resort or local pharmacy, gas station etc…. Finally we were asking one last person, and this woman is the most amazing CM to exist… She told us to go to Guest Services. We figured it was worth a try…. Guess what, they have Tylenol at Guest Relations!! The CM hooked us up, we went and got water and in no time I was feeling considerably better!! So now we had some serious shopping to do :) So, we went to the Christmas shop, and we bought 3 ornaments, one of a Mickey head made of mini bells, a Stitch ornament and a Jack Skellington ornament. The Stitch and Jack Skellington ornament s were for my sister. We then went to the world of Disney; all we ended up getting was a picture frame for a friend as a birthday present. I wanted to get it then because Zack was going golfing with her husband the next morning. With no wrapping paper to be found the CM boxed it and put some Mickey Mouse stickers on it. I also then drew a picture (a very poor one I might add) of a birthday cake :) So with all our shopping done, we went looking for coffee and Babycakes…. Well, we found Babycakes... It was so late in the day they had one cupcake, that didn’t appeal to us. Bummer. We also found coffee; we got a latte and hoped for the best…. Well it was the worst; I swear it tasted like burnt plastic. So we failed on both accounts. :( As we were walking to the car, it was close to 11, we decided to go to the Boardwalk and see if the bakery was still open and try a cupcake… Well we get to the gate and ask, they were closing in just a few minutes! The guy said to drop me off up front and then go self-park. He also told me to run! Haha I guess running 5 miles a day would pay off as I rushed to the bakery! He even phoned up front so that Zack would have no issues dropping me off. It was a rather hilarious moment, all in the name of a cupcake. I rushed to the Bakery and got us 2 cupcakes right before closing, a Mocha and Oreo cupcake… I also told them what a wonderful job they did on the Birthday cake, the girl working the counter seemed very pleased and appreciated the positive feedback. Well now I was off to find Zack, I found him and we walked the Boardwalk. It was now after 11 and everything was closed, we took in the scenery and headed back to the villa to watch TV and eat cupcakes.

Day 7

Today was more of a down day than anything. Zack went golfing at Osprey Ridge with a friend in the morning, so my MIL and I opted to go to the Animal Kingdom. It was a quiet morning, and Zack took my MIL car to golf so that we didn’t have to mess around with the car seats. We loaded everything up and we were out the door to try and get to AK for rope drop…. I hate Apple maps and so glad for the return of Google Maps. :) I was too busy talking to my MIL and ended up not at the Animal Kingdom. We missed rope drop, but finally made it there. It wasn’t too bad. We unloaded, and walked to the turnstiles. We did some photopass pics but the girls were being CRAZY! So they are kinda funny looking :) We took our time heading in, and eventually went over to Camp Minnie-Mickey… The line was ridiculously long so we thought we skipped it and headed to the Safari instead. Today turned out to be very simple and easy, we went on Kilimanjaro Safari, the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. This was it :) Zoey spent most of her time with my MIL exploring while I followed or was close by with Olive. Olive enjoyed having my full attention and it was a great for me too. We stopped for a few photos (including Santa Goofy!) but soon enough we were on our way out to go to nap. It was funny, we had a hard time finding our car while we were walking out in the parking lot, and had to cut across a grassy area, however we were not alone! We easily made it back to our villa and put the girls down for a nap.

Soon after we had our lunch Zack showed up from his relaxing morning at the course, and guess what… He forgets to give the picture frame to my friend’s husband!! So off I drove to the THV to give the gift, we chatted for a minute or two and then I headed back because we had plans to go to MK for FLE grand opening….

We headed to the Polynesian where we had dinner plans and parked, it was about 4 and our ADR was at 6:30. Love the valet with TiW! So we walked around the Poly and checked things out for a minute and then headed to MK. We got off the monorail and the place was swamped!!! We decided not to go (we did have dinner reservation and didn’t think we would get far before having to turn around. So we hopped on a boat and headed to the Grand Floridian. We had a lot of fun exploring here, all of us going our ways at times. Zack and I took the girls and had a great picture taken in front of the tree, we used this as our Christmas card this year. We looked (and drooled) at the gingerbread house and after some goofing off we headed back to the Poly. I worried we wouldn’t have enough time to go to the Contemporary, which was ok since we had looked around a little at our Chef Mickey ADR. Well, we get to the Poly and have some time to waste before checking in. Another place that is annoying with ADR wait times… I swear for our 6:30 ADR we did not get seated until around or after 7…. We were able to watch some Disney Junior while waiting and see the Lighting of the Torch ceremony from upstairs. However, the kids were hungry and they ended up eating all of their snacks, which meant we spent a lot of money on Zoey’s dinner…. Which she didn’t eat. This is Zack’s favorite place, and I do enjoy it a lot as well, so we will keep going back. The food was very good, and it was probably the only place I overate on vacation…. However, the best part was making my husband go do the hula and participate in the coconut races with Zoey. She loved it!! So did he :) I even went up for the last dance too, all in all a great time. We will keep going back here for a while- maybe when the Daddy/daughter hula dances wear off we will try somewhere else…..

So after dinner we headed back to the villa and everyone basically was heading to bed. We got the kids together and in bed and asleep and then went to the Boardwalk. My MIL again had no problems with us going out. Zack and I had a fun date night again; we took photos in the picture booth, played boardwalk games, bought some souvenirs and Christmas gifts, and just hung out. It was a great and relaxing date night and it furthered our want to stay here on our upcoming October trip. After exploring the resort we headed out (with more cupcakes in tow!) and went back to our villa to veg and get ready for our last full day at WDW….

Day 8

Our last full day!!! :insert super super sad face:

Well, what last day wouldn’t be complete with a visit to the Magic Kingdom??? We got there right around rope drop and headed to Fantasyland. We wanted to go on a few things, and we did. I have to say we explored MK very well, minus Tomorrowland. We didn’t have the chance to go on Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor or Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin….. Oh well. Next time!!

My Attraction To Do List:
1) Peter Pan
2) Enchanted Tales With Belle
3) The Barnstormer (I wanted to ride with Zoey)
4) Winnie The Pooh
So first we grabbed fastpasses for Peter Pan. Now we were off to ETWB. Ugh the wait for this ride did take forever. However, Zoey really enjoyed it and it was a great experience and well worth the wait. Olive near the end was very tired of all the waiting and had grown cranky. They thought she wanted to meet Belle when really all she wanted was to watch MMC on my iPhone… Hehe…. So at the end we did go up to meet Belle, which was a fail, but I still had fun. I gave Olive back my phone and it was smooth sailing from there. So Enchanted Tales with Belle was done! Sweet!! Next we headed over to Gaston’s Tavern because Zack wanted a pork shank…. Again another ridiculously long line, but Zack thought it was worth it :) I think the Pork Shank to him was what ETWB was to Zoey :) I went inside briefly and talked to a CM who was standing near the door, he was pretty bored because he was stuck in one spot, but very nice and fun to chat with. I spotted Zack leaving the line with his Pork Shank and met him over by the tables. The décor and theming again was awesome here and I really felt as if I was in Gaston’s Tavern. After a quick look we headed out to my MIL and the kiddos. While Zack was eating, the girls ate fruit and some of the pork too… I headed over to Winnie the Pooh to get fastpasses. After grabbing the fastpasses I met everyone near Peter Pan. We basically walked onto Peter Pan and enjoyed the classic. So on our list 2 out of 4 attractions and a pork shank! Woo we were doing alright!! Well after that we headed to the Barnstormer which had about a 20 minute wait. If all worked out we would be close, but would make our fastpass window for Winnie The Pooh….. Well the wait was pretty accurate and Zoey and I got in the front car!! Bonus!! I actually held onto her because I was afraid of her falling out…. Hehe Yes I am paranoid! She screamed and yelled and wanted to go on again but I really wanted to go on Winnie The Pooh so Olive could enjoy some ride time too…. Well, we rushed over and made our Fastpass time and had about a 5 minute wait before we were loaded into our honey pot. Zoey and Olive really had fun and afterwards Zoey explored Winnie the Pooh’s tree out front. We completed everything on our list and were pretty hungry for lunch at this point so we decided it was time to go back….. We walked back and took the Ferry to the TTC…. From the TTC Zoey said Goodbye to Cinderella’s castle, I got a coffee and tried not to act as bummed as I was…. I was very bummed. I love the Magic Kingdom and it always makes me a little sad to say goodbye…. However, I did know that we would be back…

Well we went back to the villa and did nap time. We got everything together, and started packing. Zack and I wanted to go out for our last night to Epcot and didn’t want to have too much to do the next morning. Ugh it was so depressing! So we packed what we could and then woke the girls up for our last night. We had an ADR at Akershus! I was really looking forward to this and couldn’t wait!
We headed off to Epcot and it was pretty busy but not too bad. We expected this because of Test Track and EMH. So we started off and went directly to Akershus to check in for our ADR. It was not very long before we were in. This was one of our worst dining experiences in WDW… Ever. First, the photopass photographer was horrible. He was rushed and barely let us get together for a picture. He was also borderline rude. I was seriously annoyed by this but being it was our last night I just didn’t want such a great vacation to end with too grumpy of a time. So then we were seated. Zoey saw the princesses making their rounds and insisted on giving me a hug. This was great :) She loved meeting with all the princesses and the interactions were very good. However, the timing and eating were completely off. The princesses came in pretty rapid succession, so for Zoey to meet them all we didn’t get up to the cold bar before our dinner was sitting on the table. The server rushed us through everything and at the end we were really disappointed in the entire experience. She brought one dessert for 4 adults and 2 kids to share and by the time she came back we just wanted to leave. For the few dollars more that Cinderella’s was per person I would have went there, this just didn’t feel done well at all. On the way out I spoke to the hostess to voice my complaints, she offered to get a manager who could help, but I didn’t want to waste any more time dwelling on the subject. She said she would voice my complaints to the manager and that I should email Disney when I had time. I just want them to fix a process that wasn’t working, I didn’t want a manager to give me a gift card, money off etc… I didn’t think that would solve the overall problem anyway….

So with that done, we headed back to Test Track. It was getting late and I knew Zack really wanted to go on. So Zack, my mom and MIL all went on while I sat outside with the girls. I decided to take the time to email Disney from my phone about Akershus. After a while I got bored and went to MouseGear so the girls could pick out a toy to bring home. Shortly after the rest of the group met up with me and we did some shopping. I ended up getting the girls matching purple princess sweats, a princess set for Zoey, and 2 Minnie small plushes for Olive (One was Rapunzel and the other Ariel, very cute!) I also got a watch with my discount for my mom. It was a good night and we were ready to get everyone (especially the kiddos) in bed for tomorrow’s day of travel.
After getting the kids to bed Zack and I headed back out. We got to Epcot around9-9:15. Illuminations were being announced that it would start shortly…. We went over to Test Track and got Fast Passes for 11-12… We decided to head out to the World Showcase and look for coffee. We got to Mexico and the fireworks started. We stood there and watched the fireworks for the last night. :sigh: and then afterwards fought the crowd and went looking for coffee……. We stopped in Germany and bought Christmas ornaments, they had blown glass Mickey Mouse heads that were adorable. We kept going on our search for coffee…. Ugh…Everything was closed… Finally we got to the American Pavilion, and there was coffee!!! Yaaaay! So we got our coffee and went on walking. We went to Japan and did Pick a Pearl. I love this!! I also need to still get a pearl cage for my pearl, and we will do this again :) After checking out Morocco we then stopped in France and got a cream puff and then headed to England. We really explored every country including Canada. Many of the countries were quiet and empty – at times it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was now after 11, we were tired and Test Track seemed so far away! We started on our trek for our last Disney ride of the trip. On the way (and we had done this most of the night) we stopped for more Photopass pics, we got about 7 or 8 different shots with just Zack and I! Well, we went on Test Track and had fun; I was neither blown away nor disappointed by the new design. It was fun and a great way to end the night. We were done, and exhausted! Time to go back, go to sleep and get ready for our plane ride home to the great white north.
