Donald's Safari Lunch

Just curious if anyone has feedback on the safari lunch. We currently have lunch reservations but we love their breakfast too!! At the time I made the reservation, lunch was actually a little cheaper than breakfast so we thought we would give it a try? How is the food?

I just called and the price did change. Breakfast is slightly less expensive than lunch (less than a $1 for adult/child)

Just ate there last week.

Lunch used to be cheaper as it didn't have characters, now that it has characters (Mickey, Daisy and Goofy inside and Donald outside), it is a little more expensive.

It is basically the same lunch as before - African insprired dishes: veggies, couscous, rice, pasta, salads, grilled meats, children's stuff (corn dogs, mac n cheese), soups, breads and desserts (bread pudding, tarts, fruit).

As always with this restaurant, character interaction is always rushed. It also took us almost 40 mins just to be seated for our ADR. People take way too long at this meal, and thus, they are always running behind.

Also, Donald is only available for photos outside of the restaurant - he does not sign autographs. You may take your own photo, or, Photopass will take one, and then come to your table and sell you a package for $29.99 that includes: 1 - 5x7 in a nice brown folder, 4-4x6 and 1-4x6 stock photo of all 4 characters present at the meal (Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey).

Hmmm.... Thanks for the feedback!! We usually love the breakfast so I am thinking about just going with a late breakfast now if I can still get a ADR. I thought it would be fun to try the character lunch since it was new. The price really isn't a factor now because it is only $1 difference per person. That stinks that they were running that far behind, we have always enjoyed this character meal and have had good luck here?

We were there the week before Christmas and though lunch was great! We had a 1:00 reservation and showed up early in hopes of being seated a bit earlier. We maybe waited 10 min...and we were a party of 12. It is a bummer that Donald is only available outside, but I thought the rest of the character interaction was great. Not rushed at all...and we are not autograph people.

Food is basically the same as before, but we all really enjoyed the food. Would definitely go back.

I'm glad to read the positive reviews on this. We are starting our early stages of planning out our September trip and one place that we all want to eat at is Tusker House for lunch. We ate here last May when they still did the Nemo Musical package and we really liked it. My kids had no idea that there are now characters during lunch and they were very excited when I told them .

We have a 10:20 AM ADR at Tusker House Donald's breakfast on an early EMH morning. We will do Kali (and get wet) after breakfast.

Breakfast is from 8:00am to 10:30am.

Question: What if we have a 30 - 40 minute wait ?
Lunch is 11:30am - 3:30pm
What if we do not get in till 11 AM ?
Can we still get breakfast ?
Will there stil be characters - Tuskers is the only place for Donald & Daisy on our ADR list.

Please tell me we made a good time for breakfast.

We will arrive at the podium by 10 am.
