We thought the food was great and we had a wonderful server who let us know when the characters would be with us so we knew we had time to hit the buffet.
If you are a Donald Duck fan keep in mind that the only photo op is outside the restaurant where he greets guests and you have an official photo taken (not photopass)
The CMs outside will happily take a picture with your camera if you ask

The best thing is the juice!!! Oh, the cornbread frittata is delish, as well. Can't pass up the Mickey waffles, either. YUM!

We did this last March and loved it and will be returning again in September. Last March we took our family picture outside next to some African decorations and Donald came around our table, but I am reading that you get your family picture with Donald before getting seated....no matter, it is still a great character meal. The buffet is good and the juice is awesome. My kids also loved the parade with Mickey. I don't think we have any negatives about this place....Have fun

We loved everything about it. When we went, June 2009, all the characters were inside the restaurant. The food is very good and there is a nice variety, I also love the characters in their safari outfits! I found it was much more organized in terms of how the characters came around and we were able to see everyone and not wait forever.

Which characters are at this breakfast? I am trying to decide between this and Chef Mickeys.

Be sure to give the Bobotie a try. We almost passed on it, but it was delicious! I make it at home now! It is a meat and egg dish with a mango chutney. Even if you are not adventurous eaters, take a small bite; you might just discover a new favorite.

Have a great trip - this is our favorite character meal in all the parks, and one of only a few must- dos on each trip.

The Juice is awesome! Loved the different assortment of food!

Donald came to our table....along with Goofy, Daisy and I think Mickey and maybe Minnie.

It's so much fun we booked it again in a few weeks!

The juice is the best ( I think I had 4 full, large glasses of it!)

We had Donald as a host (so he only did pics outside with DH and I)
Mickey, Goofy and Daisy came around to the tables. It took about 60-70 minutes to see all of the characters. Plenty of time to see the characters and eat (a lot of) breakfast.

We ate there this morning for the first time! Donald was outside for photos, then Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Daisy inside. The juice was delish and there was an excellent variety of breakfast foods from basic eggs, breakfast meats, and Mickey waffles, to carved ham, yogurts with toppings, rice, etc. I believe it's my new favorite breakfast experience.

The bread pudding is awesome! And they have cheese blintzes which are sort of in the corner, midway through the buffet near a kitchen entrance door, so very good . . . they have this stuff called "mealie" which is covered in cheese and is like runny grits with corn mixed in, so very yummy!! It is definitely one of our favorites! And the last two times we have been there Donald has been outside but it has not been a problem to have a CM out there take a picture with our camera, as they will charge you for the pictures that they take onsite! Enjoy!!

We are looking forward to our first visit to Donald's Safari Breakfast. I'm glad to read good reviews about the food and I'll definitely try the juice (my gosh, what's so special about it?)

Our main reason for going is to see Daisy!

We love it and have been 3 times! It used to be that Donald was inside with the rest of the characters for visits to the tables and photos...they then changed it to only a formal photo before you enter...BUT, after we took the formal photo it began to rain..so Donald came inside and visited our table anyway!
You may be able to do a search for my post "Goofy - your fly is down"...very funny story from our last visit!

Mickey, Daisy, Goofy and, of course Donald are standard...Minnie is there as well on occasion.
I would definitely recommend this one over chef mickey...no comparison in my opinion. CM is loud, dirty and crowded and I thought the food was awful! It always amazes me that people are excited to go to that one..could be it's just a nostalgia thing....

Here's my Goofy post from February's trip:

Goofy - your fly is down!
I forgot to tell everyone this really funny story. We were in Tusker House for Breakfast when Goofy came around to our area. I noticed his fly was down right away (he's kind of puffy in the pants, so it really shows!)...I couldn't believe the CM's didn't notice - or maybe just didn't tell him. As he got to our table, I couldn't take it anymore...I leaned forward and whispered "Goofy..your fly is down"..well....he stopped in his tracks..but he couldn't really look down at his fly...his snout is in the way. So he put his hand there and felt around..then struggled with his big Goofy hands to get the fly up...by this time it had all become very obvious to everyone....all the tables around us were cracking up!
After he got himself straightened out, he put his palms together and bent forward - in a sort of Japanese thank you!
