Donalds Safari Breakfast

I am going to be at AK on my 28th birthday. I have ADRs at both Donalds Safari Breakfast and at Rainforest Cafe. Our reservations are at 8:05 for breakfast and the park opens at 9am. Any suggestions about what to do about getitng on the earliest safaris?? Also what time should we arrive for the 8:05 ressie. Will the buses run that early from POP?

Also what are your thoughts on the 2 resturaunts? I have it noted that its my bday I am hoping for a little magic!!!

a little confused...do you have 8:05 ressies at BOTH restaurants and you're trying to pick which one to cancel? or are they different times?

I *think* you're talking about two different meals, but if you're trying to narrow it down, I'd highly recommend going with Donald's. You should be finished before 9:00 (ask for your check first so you don't have to wait around for it). The Safari is very close to the restaurant. You'll be held there until the rest of the park crowd catches up after ropedrop, but you'll be at the front of the crowd and should have one of the first rides on Safari. Keep in mind though that if you also want to do EE, the Safari takes a while so the fastpass times on EE will be pushed further back and the standby lines will be a little longer.

Yes, buses will be running early to get people to their character breakfasts. My rule is be at the bus stop around 7:00. (Although sometimes we don't make it until 7:15ish, and if we have to wait awhile on a bus it can be cutting it close making our ADR on time.)

Yes I have ressies at both resturaunts. Breakfast at Tusker 8:05am then dinner at Rainforest at 5pm. I have never been on EE but have been on the safari which do you think we should head for first? Thank you for the help so far

You will love this character meal, it's so good! We stayed at POP in September and had 8:05am ressies at Donalds Safari Breakfast. We went to the bus stop at 7, were on the first bus to the AK, and some of the first in line at the character breakfast turnstyle (they check your name on the list). We were seated right away, and had eaten and were waiting at rope drop. We headed over to EE, got fast passes and rode it several times with no wait. We then headed back to the safari with a very small wait. It worked fantastic! Have fun!

We are in the same situation...8:05 reservations at Donald's breakfast and arriving from AS Sports. Would you suggest someone in the party running and getting fastpasses for EE right away and then meeting everyone at the safari? We really want to be on one of the first safari trips.

Thank you for your help! I am sooo excited is there anything else you would recommend doing for my 28th Bday? We will be there 1/27-2/1. We arent really fancy people. It is my wifes 1st trip so I am trying to make it just as special for her as for me!

Have done it 3xs (once in its old lacation and twice at its current location!)

I have an 8:00am ressie at DHS for next week. I was told that I would not be able to get transportation to be there that early and was told I would have to take a cab if I didnt have a car with me (I do have a car).

It may be different for AK, but I would call and check to be sure. As someone posted above, they also had an early ressie at AK and was able to get on a bus at 7:00, so either I was given wrong info or AK is different.

If you think you may be running late at breakfast, maybe one in your party can run out to the park and grab fast passes, while the other stays at the table. It only takes about 5 minutes. You can enjoy the rest of your breakfast and not worry about missing the early safari when all the animals are up and running! I think too, the dates you are going are great. The crowd level is low, so you shouldnt have a problem doing anything you want as long as you have a plan.

Unless things have changed since the summer, you should be able to get the early bus from your hotel. The busses start coming around 6:30-7:00 am for those with early ADR's. We have used this service at both pop and all star sports several times. Check with your hotel.

Thanks for all the help. I did ask on the phone when I made the ressie if there was transportation, the CM said yes so I hope she is right. Plus it sounds like I shouldnt have a problem!!
