Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Hey all - just got assigned to the Triple D's and wanted to check in. I have been posting on the weekly thread and thought the team challenge was a great idea. Through 2 March, I have 45.7 miles and 6.5 hours of running time - started back to running after the Goofy on 12 Feb.

Do we report weekly?

Bubba73...we'll catch those other teams! I think his smack talk was all in fun, but it sure got us in gear, right? :goodvibes

I do want to say that people who are not putting in as many miles (as someone more hard core like Bryan or myself) should NOT feel bad AT ALL....we want to encourage people to do what they can, and LTO/WTO happens, for sure, as well as taking into account that we all will have different goals, etc. For someone to get out and walk 2 miles/5 times in a week for a total of 10 is just as valuable! That is probably better than most of the USA!

I'm so PROUD of ALL of our team!! and all the WISHers in general!

I don't know what Steve from the bunnies was talking about, everyone knows that Hakuna Matata is gonna win it all. Cause we float like a pixie and sting like a magic dragon.

Hey, toothless Panda....
Good luck tomorrow!

Maybe Steve was just distracting us from the Hakuna Matata team! It's all a complicated plan... :rotfl2:

Welcome, KZmarathon! Tell us about yourself!

I learned about WISH two years ago from Howard and Cam and have run with a bunch of WISH people with Howard, but really started checking in with the boards after running the Goofy this year while home on R&R leave. I am currently in my 10th month of a 12 month deployment with the Army in Baghdad and can't wait to get back! Running has been my sanity over here and it's great to read about others doing the same thing. Sounds like everyone is doing a great job so far - keep it up!

I am the husband of 18 years to Kristen (Kewz1), DD is 13 going on 27 and DS is 11 going on, well, 12. Kris is running the half this year and is a member of Team Hakuna Matata.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's adventures and getting to know you better!

:welcome: kzmarathon!

It's nice to have you on our team!
First, thank you for all that you do for our country:thumbsup2
and thank you for helping our team:goodvibes
We post on Thurs/Fri for the week.
Friendly trash talking is always allowed as you can see by the Panda poop!
I'm doing the Goofy next year after doing the 1/2 this year,
so any advice is always welcome.

stay safe:goodvibes

Hey Big Vic do we get to count Z's miiles for Feb????

kzmarathon Welcome to our team! I have to start off by saying you live in one of my favorite places. I love driving up to Huntsville to visit the Space Center. (I am a HUGE space buff.) I just wish I had the smarts to be able to actually work there and help the program but that is a whole other story. I would also like to add a big THANK YOU! :thanks: for your service for our freedoms! God Bless all of you!

Twotoohappy Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is going well! We miss you over at DFD.

I have been able to get some good workouts already for this week. I have already got 50 miles in and 4 1/2 hours worth of time and training. I may have overdone it a little today but I have been taking it easy tonight and trying to workout all of the soreness. I am bound and determined to get more than 100 miles again this week so I am really trying to push myself. I have also talked to a friend of mine who is supposed to let me know when there is going to a 5k race locally so I can do that as well.

How is everyone else doing? Brand new month, new totals and new goals. Let's show these other teams what the Triple D's are made of!!!:cheer2:

Welcome to all the new members. Glad that you are on our team.

PatsBill - Glad to see you around. Have you caught that Panda you have been stalking. ;)

Bill

This is for Mike:

Sorry for the intrusion, but I wanted to catch Debra.

Hey DKP - I hope you don't mind but I borrowed (O.K. stole, pilfered, plundered) your Cleveland Marathon siggie. It's so much more stylish than that honkin' one I had.

Please let me know if you've already had copyrights attached so I can send the royalty check your way.

Thanks!

Glad you like the siggie--I was trying to get it to line up with my others.

No copyrights--wouldn't dare claim that on THIS team's thread--so no fees. Team Ohana wouldn't mind a little donation of your many miles to help out our team, though! ;)

I hope your training is going well for Cleveland, among other events!

Oh, and to the rest of the triple DDDs: I hope this week also finds you happy in your training gear, and getting all the support you need. (Geez, that joke never gets old to me. Apparently maturity isn't my strong suit. :rotfl:)

Hi, Team...

I think I am somewhat recovered from the 1/2 marathon. Still a little sore, but I did a little biking this afternoon, and am heading to go for a run workout.

You guys are keeping me motivated on what has been sort of a "meh" day! Thanks! princess:

I agree with Bill. :)

My run workout didn't really happen. :sad1: I apparently need more than 2 days to recover from a 1/2 marathon. Will try again tomorrow.

Whoa! What's my DW, who happens to be on another team, doing on this board? This is going to get interesting!

Z

I was looking to see if you had posted since we didn't get to talk yesterday. No evil intentions. This time. ;)

Lol! I posted the same thing on Team Ohana's thread for your team siggie:dance3:

Don't push yourself too hard Betsy;
we don't want you to get injured:goodvibes
You can't push recovery.

Everyone else, have a good day, I'm off for a quick run:woohoo:
