Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Bill - You crack me up! Sarcasm is my middle name ;)

...

AmyBeth68 - Sorry - wasn't meaning to offend/attack anyone:goodvibes

What sarcasm?

As co-captain (and I still don't know how that happened) to Big Vic, I feel my job is to step in and minimize friction between "Challenge" participants. (How am I doing so far?) Big Vic seems to have all the motivational and technical tracking stuff covered.

OK - I didn't get out today because I was too busy, but I will make up for it with extra time next week.

So, my totals for the week are:
Miles: 7.5
Minutes: 145

I'm looking forward to getting further with this and having these numbers go up, but for now I am very pleased with how consistent I've been and how much I'm enjoying it.

Thanks everyone!

reducing friction should count towards hours:rotfl2:

Totals for week 1:
9.5 hrs
40.8 miles

If you need a breakdown, just let me know.
Go Triple D's:cheer2:

My totals for last week:

Saturday - 7.57 miles in 1:32:17 and 0.5 miles in 0:08:12

Wednesday - 15 minutes stretching before doggie and sick kid decided cuddling would be better
Thursday - 4.05 miles in 0:47:32 and .5 miles in 0:07:59

Good afternoon Winners!!

Sorry I'm late. A little LTO/WTO going on.

The spreadsheet has been updated. Please check your numbers and let me know if I need to amend anything.

Take care.

:)

Aww...we're not winning....:sad1:

Big Vic...I see some of the peeps on other teams are counting swim mileage. Not that it matters, I suppose....but my swimming this past week was 2.9 miles.

Splitting hairs, I know....

I suppose it doesn't matter....since the same workout on a stationary bike that counts miles and a spin class bike that doesn't count miles would have a different value in the total miles, even if they take the same time.

OK...time to rest up and go for a good bike ride tomorrow!

I'm doing well. Bought a new pair of running shoes (Asics 2130), and will christen them tomorrow. :thumbsup2

I added your swimming mileage to the spreadsheet.

Take care. :)

Good Morning Everyone!
Just wanted to check in before my workout!
Have a great weekend and we're all winners as long as
we get/stay healthy!
Have a good weekend DDDs!

Betsy - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your sig. line
"I'm not sweating; my muscles are crying!"

Yay, it's going to be 50 and sunny today! I'll be heading out to do a long walk a little later.
Have a great weekend and some great workouts! :cheer2:

We may not be first, but that is still an impressive amount of miles and hours when yo total it all up. And I am so grateful for this, because it has definitely motivated me to keep myself moving instead of going into my usual WDW post-marathon mid-winter slump/hibernation mode. In fact, it eve got me out and moving this morning even though (warning: shameless self-promotion approaching) today is my birthday. Now maybe I won't feel so bad about that 2nd piece of cake?

Oh, and Vic, I am happy to say I will be unable to post a picture of Earnhardt for you -- he has already been adopted and is settling in with his forever family (probably some good-hearted NASCAR fans) as we speak. He wasn't even there long enough to make it onto the website. But it's a good name that I will probably use again, so next time I deem a puppy to be worthy of the name, I'll be sure to snap a photo for you, okay?

Hope everyone is having a great, active, mile-laden weekend!

Roger that. Sounds like a plan, and I'm glad he was adopted so quickly. :)

well, I know, we're just getting warmed up and getting out there is the most important part!!
This is inspiring to me!

Big Vic, enjoy the shoes!

Twotoohappy, thanks! I'm sure I lifted that line from some other forum or website somewhere. :goodvibes

I got a short swim in this morning, testing out a new wetsuit (yay!), and then a longish bike ride. Long run tomorrow.

Keep moving, peeps!!:thumbsup2

Long run cut short by time issues. :( But it was good to be out moving!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!!

Well I did a 5k race this AM and it wasn't pretty. I cursed myself through out the whole race (am I crazy - my legs are dying after less than a mile and I signed up for a dang marathon!!!!!) My legs bothered me really bad - it would feel worse when I would stop and walk since I have a fast pace walk. All in all I guess I should be happy that I finished and that I wasn't last - I was about 30 from last. 2nd to last in my age group. Managed a time of 35:16

I do find that once I get past 3 miles my legs seem to feel better so maybe I need to start running prior to my races (I am sure I will once I get my milage back up to more than 3 miles!!! UGH) It was tough today but I am proud that I finished. And now am sitting here with my new race shirt (I am starting o get quite a collection) Unfortunately my personal photographer (i.e. my DH) didn't take very good pictures (I forgot it was on the wrong setting and he doesn't check that!!) so I am hoping the pictures will be online soon from the club (my new running club was the one's who put on the race) The race was to benefit a disabled veteran - they are presenting him with a Segway.

Coincidently enough the name of the race was the Wishing Well 5k (named after an Irish pub the club meets at after their Wed. night runs) but of course it made me think of my WISH team!!

So I managed 2.5 miles (40 mins) yesterday on the TM and 3.1 (35 mins) today and nothing on Friday. I promise to get out there and get more miles/time for the team.

Hey Triple-D's,

Just checking in. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

It looks like everyone is doing a great job!

Erica - Happy belated birthday!!:bday:

Tricia - Good job on the race! Hopefully the leg issues will resolve soon.

I hopped on the bike Friday for 13 miles and did a 16 mile LR yesterday.

Later!
