Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

OK--I've started my baby steps. 1.52 miles in a little over 32 minutes. The training has begun and will get longer team.

Hope to get in some kind of core tonight for 30-45 minutes.

Bill:  I am not here to trash talk. I am here to say way to go. I am so proud of you getting out there and starting. Pretty soon, you will be like the rest of us and not know when to stop!!! ;)

Bill - great job on getting out there and getting in the baby steps. :cheer2: Enjoy your game tonight (except I am rooting for the "other" team - even though I don't like them either - I just want to see the Patriots lose 1 game - Sorry! :confused3 )

As far as me - I wanted to report in that I did get out there this morning. Only got in 2 miles and it was mostly walking because my calves tightened up and hurt SO bad. I wanted to keep going but I didn't want to hurt my shins. I normally would have been disappointed in myself (and quit for good) but with the support of the WISH team and I knew I can't let the Triple D's down already  so when I got home I said at least I got out there and did something!! Hoping for better training for everyone else. Guess I need to work on more strength and stretching (good thing that is on schedule for tomorrow)

Oh another question - do we record our time for stretching and strength training?

Great Job Everyone!
Everyone goes at different speeds and different distances
so the whole goal is just to keep moving!
I'm not a big distance person, but I did put in a 4mile run yesterday :)
It was a comfortable hour run - gotta love it when it's 50 in Feb. in MA!
It was a lot of hills grrrr.... Isn't Cape Cod suppose to be flat?!

BTW - Mike - had to laugh (literally I almost spit my tea out
because I was cracking up) at your "slugging too much" comment
and then your 14 mile run post - eeeks! What's not slugging ;)
You rock!

Have a great Sunday Donald's Defiant Dashers!
I'm off to the gym!

Question guys...

I spent an hour mall walking today but I didn't have a pedometer with me. I don't really know how many miles that equates to. If I had to guess it would be about 4 miles (15 minute miles). Does that sound okay to put down or what should I do???

Thanks!

Go ahead and post to both.

When you get a chance to measure it, we can always adjust the mileage.

:)

Did my long run this morning and swim class.
:goodvibes

Vic, my weekly total may come to you a little late on Friday as I am traveling that day and will have limited internet access, k?

Roger that. :)

OK, I did 2.75 miles today, 40 total minutes of exercise including warm up & cool down.

What a beautiful day to be outside - 50 degrees and sunny.

15miles on the bike and an hour of weights.
Happy Day everyone :)

yesterday - 6 miles on stationary bike and 2 miles on TM = 1 hour
same today - although today I had to fight with myself to keep going. For whatever reason, I just wasn't into it and just had to push myself to 'get 'r done.'
Tomorrow will be better!!!
:cheer2: Triple D's Rock!:cheer2:

Today...

30 minutes on the dreadmill = 2 miles

Crappy weather out today 4" snow and now freezing rain. Worst winter in years. How depressing :headache:

Keep warm everyone!

Superbowl Sunday pre-game workout
4.39 miles, 42:44.

Friday was regularly scheduled rest day, and LTO on Saturday for no miles. Mileage should start ramping back up this week as Goofy recovery period officially ended yesterday.

Looks like everyone is doing a good job with your workouts this weekend! Go DDD!!!

Paul

Good evening Triple D's!

Looks like everyone is doing very well.

Congrats to all for the hard work! :thumbsup2

Don't forget to post your totals on Thursday, or as soon afterwards as you can, and I'll get the spreadsheet updated on Friday.

Take care.

:)

Afternoon Triple D's I have been added to his wonderful team by the Panda himself. I figured a little extra motivation couldn't hurt. :thumbsup2

I'll post a little bio in that thread.

I do have a XT question about hours. How would or would you count alpine sking in the hours?

Scott - :welcome:

I would think you would count the time actually spent skiing. If you know the length of the slope, you could count that towards mileage.

Snow bunny chasing at the bar would definitely count towards time and mileage. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Big Vic...I was seeing in another thread that some people are counting housework towards their hours? That's not right, is it? Just curious. I don't think I could do that in good conscience. :confused3

p.s. apparently I can post from work..yay! So I can send totals on Friday morning or Thurs. pm.

Hey Everyone!
Weights/Pilates today :)

IMHO - I don't think housework or hours spent teaching aerobics/personal training etc. should count.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Let me ask the Panda dude.

:cheer2: welcome, Scott!!!! Glad to have you on the winningest team on this board!

I think the snow bunny chasing miles depends on how far you get with them. ;)

I'm glad Betsy brought up the issue, because I saw some posts along those lines, too, and kinda went "hmmmmmm" :rolleyes1 I've been acting under the undertanding we are tracking the time and miles specifically attributable to working out/training....For example, I tend to wear my pedometer all day, but am only recording the miles from my runs, not the miles I happen to rack up walking around campus all day. That said, I'm afraid that adding in hours for housework would not boost my hours by a whole lot.

okay, enough of that. I was a slug for a couple of days, I did try to go for a run Monday but it was fugly. I fought the hangover and the hangover won. Back in the saddle today though, and got a nice 5 miler in. The weather is incredible for February, and tomorrow I may break out the bike -- we're going up to 62!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing well! Go team, go!!!!
