Can anyone give me advice and info on this character breakfast. My son (turning 10) picked it for his party. Should we change to another place?
Thanks, terriann

We were there in December and really enjoyed the breakfast. DS was 2 1/2 so he enjoyed seeing the characters but didn't need a whole lot of interaction and autographs. I can't remember perfectly, but a couple of the characters stopped by the table more than once, but only briefly.

DH & I enjoyed the food. DS is happy anywhere they have bacon. I haven't been to another character breakfast, so I can't really compare. We'll go back on our next visit, though.

One nice thing was getting into AK before the crowds. I think we had 8:10am PS and were out a little before 9am. I know there was no line for Triceratops Spin. DS could have ridden several times in a row. I rode Primeval Whirl and there must have been 4 empty cars in front of me. Had the option to ride again without getting off, but I passed.

Sorry I can't remember more specifics. Hope that helped some.

Donald's is one of our must do's. It is the one restaurant that 13 DS made sure we went to again.
The made to order omlmeets are great. DH was also able to get fried eggs at the ommelet station. The characters interaction is very good too, but the CM's are what makes this meal. They are very into the whole "act" of being students at a dig site.

Hi there...

We really enjoyed the breakfastasaurus... gosh thats hard to say.

The waiters were so much fun... they scared me with a rubber dinosaur and one of them staged a 'fake sneeze' behind a guest while the other sprayed her with a 'mister' it was hilarious...

I think your son would enjoy it... the food was good too.

Right after breakfast you could ride 'Dinosaur' it's just a moment away.

>>^..^<<

We also enjoyed the donald's meal. We also like the fact we got going to some rides a little ahead of others. I say go ahead and try it. The characters and food were great.

It is much more fun than character breakfast at Garden Grille, for us.
And those Mickey shaped pancakes... all you can eat... yum!

Donald's is our favorite breakfast too:D Not only is the character interaction great, the servers are fun too.
We prefer Donald's breakfast over Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Hollywood & Vine.

My daughter (in college) and I prefer this to any other character buffet, breakfast, lunch or dinner for that matter. Make sure you get it set up for the earliest possible PS they give which on days the parks open at 9 is 8:10 I believe. By the time you are done eating, you can hit the rides before the other guests are let into the park. The characters and servers are the best of all the character restaurants and the food is wonderful. You'll love it!

This is one of the most popular breakfasts, and it's no wonder. The average CM there has 20 years in with the company!!!

This was our first character meal ever and it was wonderful. DS then 2 1/2 was great and it was his first time with the characters. They danced around the room, it was great.

You'll really enjoy this one.

Donald's is the best character meal (by far) that we have attended. The CMs are great, the characters are really good, and the food is even good. I would do this breakfast over Chef Mickey's anyday (JMHO, of course :)).

We have been to every character breakfast and Donald's is our kids favorites (8 & 11) as well as ours.

The food is excellent and the CM's are a riot. My DS wore an old Donald hat (the one with his feet sticking out the top) and Mickey and Donald had a great time with it!

I've heard comments that the CM's try to rush you out, but that's never been the case for us.

Here is my review from Dec. 2002:

12/21, breakfast at Donalds breakfastosaurus (special christmas addition)
We arrived at AK at 8:15am for our 8:30 PS. They efficiently had one turnstile available for people with PS's for the breakfast. You then signed in at a table they have set up by the main entrance. They give you a card with your name and ps time on it and have you wait in an area off to the right until your name is called. Then a CM walks you through the park (which doesn't open until 9am) to the restaurant in DinoLand. She ended up also being our waitress. When you arrive at the restaurant you have your picture taken and then are led to your seat. We sat in the "recreation room" area of the restaurant which reminded me of the decor at 50's Prime Time in MGM. We were brought a giant pitcher of coffee which is what we really needed. We sat and enjoyed this awhile before rushing off to the buffet. Now, I am NOT a big fan of buffets, but this was very good. Trying to recall the selection, I believe they had one "cold" station with cereal, fruit, and pastries and then a "hot" buffet with eggs, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes, cinamon french toast, quiche, apple crisp (yummy), hash browned potatoes and I'm sure more that I forgot. They also have a omelette station where you can order one fresh and they make it right in front of you. My only regret is that it took like 15 minutes...I had one with mushrooms, peppers, onion and tomato. It was hot and delicious.

Characters were good, but a little rushed. There was goofy, chip and dale, mickey and pluto, and of course Donald.

Overall rating: 7 1/2 I would go back here again, but would want to be more rested and hungry. The food really impressed me and I liked getting to AK early.

This sounds great! We will be there on April 21 at 8:10. Will anyone else be there then?

Sounds great to us! We'll definitely be visiting there on our next trip. THANKS!

We like this Character Breakfast. We are going again on February 22nd this year.

Food is good and if I am right this is the only place that you can have breakfast with Donald.

Last time Pluto was there and he loved my DD. She can't wait to go again. She particularly remembers that they have mickey mouse shaped pancakes!!!!

We've got 8:10PS on March 21st!!!! Wave if you see me, I'll be the mom with the mile wide grin:bounce:

I am so glad to hear all the positive news. Going to book it as my starting CB this summer!

This is the only character meal my DS10 has asked to do this year. It is his as well as DH and I's favorite. I think they cater a little bit more to older kids here and the CM's interacting with the characters just makes it better. I can not think of any breakfast item you could want that was not on the buffet. We love an 8:10 Ps there. We can eat and be finished as the park is opening. Because all the crazy people at the front gates run to the safri, we have dinoland to ourselves for a while.A perfect place for the birthday .
