Donald & Relay - Race Retreat 2012

I want to sign up for the race retreat this year. But, I am doing both the half and the relay. Can I sign up (race retreat only) as Goofy? Doesn't seem fair to pay more if you are doing the half & relay.

I have not signed up for the tent, but I understand it historically is controlled through wrist bands. It seems like that should work. I am betting no one has thought of that. A quick call to Disney Sports may be in order...

With regard to cost, this is a case where it seems more than fair that the half and full folks should pay the same price. After all, you are in the tent the same amount of time for both races.

That's a darn good question. I don't see why you couldn't sign up for the Goofy Race Retreat, unless things are all color coded. Meaning, if your bib color has to match your wristband or something. I did that in 2008 but don't remember that they checked things that intensely. Let us know what you find out!!

I also just read another post asking about the time the 2nd leg runner (you) really needs to wake up in the morning... I have no clue, but am hoping you don't need to be on the bus by 4am seeing as how you really don't start your portion of the race until closer to 8am!! (or earlier, if I'm having a good running day )

I emailed Disney Sports. If & when I get an answer, I'll post.

I know the tent is a huge splurge, but we really thought it was worth it last year. We got there at 3am on Sunday for the Full and had somewhere nice & warm to wait & eat. After the bus snafu for the half, my DH was taking no chances on Sunday. We got there at 3am and were parked right by the entrance/exit of the meeting area. (no bus came for well over an hour & he had to go get the rental car, drive over to epcot and literally run from the parking lot onto the course and keep going)

We also liked having food and a place to eat, rather than heading to the room to shower then scouting out food.

Tanya - I will probably get there really early since Chad has to, and also to hang with WISHers also doing leg #2.

Just got word from runDisney - perfectly fine to sign up as Goofy for the race retreat!
