Has anyone stayed here? We normally stay at the Adagio but for our last Disneyland trip (for a good while) in the summer, we all fancy a change. We're trying to decide between the Domaine de la Brie and the Park et Suites, Montevrain. I wondered how good the kitchenette facilities are at the Crecy hotel and how comfortable the beds are! Also, is anyone has any views about the Park et Suites, they would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello

I can’t help you with the Domaine de la Brie, Crecy I’m afraid but we have stayed in both the Park & Suites Prestige Val d'Europe and Park & Suites Village (not sure which you are thinking of). The P & S Prestige has apartment rooms and the P & S Village has villas. We stayed at the Prestige last Halloween and were perfectly happy with it initially – the apartment had a small entrance hall with doors to bathroom, wc, bedroom and kitchen/living room. It was clean and reasonably spacious, the kitchen was well equipped and there were brilliant electric black-out blinds on the large floor to ceiling windows. This was our undoing though as on our last night the fire-alarm went off. The reception had no idea what was going on and the management refused to come out of their office. It was chaotic, people hanging around the lobby in duvets, no lifts working of course and we were on the top floor with a disabled child, only the dimmest of lighting ion the landings and it was impossible to raise those electric blinds. The uncertainty went on for hours, until daylight in fact and people were just checking out. We decided to do the same as it was our last night anyway but then had to pack in complete darkness. Imagine trying to pack up not just suitcases but the kitchen area as well by touch! Because our son could not go up and down the stairs or be left alone we had to take it in turns to ferry everything downstairs while the other stayed with DS. It was the total lack of direction or safety that appalled us and although we eventually gathered that it was probably an electrical fault we vowed never to stay there again.

However we have also stayed in the P & S Village before and been very satisfied with the large villa – three bedrooms, two bathrooms, large kitchen/diner/living room and outside space plus huge balcony. We are staying there this June when as a family of 6 it is a much more economic option than staying on-site.

Not sure if that helps! :goodvibes

We are staying at the Domaine de la Brie for the first time in August for 3 nights on the way back from the Loire Valley - I think one of the differences between what you are comparing is the distance. I believe Domaine de la Brie is about 12 miles to the park whereas Park and Suites are about 5 miles.

We have stayed at the Park and Suites in Montevrain when it used to be called Home Business in apartments for 4. The kitchen facilities are basic and there is no oven only a microwave. Everything was okay for a cheap budget accommodation.

They are very similar to Residhome Prestige de Val D'Europe which are slightly closer to the parks and walking distance to Val D'Europe and right next to the train station (one stop away from the parks) if you didn't want to use your car for the day. Parking at Residhome on the streets is not great but they have a secure underground car park which is charged at 5 Euros per night.

Park & Suites is certainly very close to the park (with free parking) - you can just see the top of the castle from the front and we watched the fireworks from the outside walkway on the top floor one evening. It is very much on the edge of Montrevain, in fact almost opposite some of Backstage.

Whilst the kitchen is basic it has a double hob and fridge plus dishwasher which we found quite adequate for the limited amount of cooking we wanted to do on holiday.

As a follow-up, we stayed in Crecy for 6 nights last week and loved the place - we wish that we'd discovered it years ago. The 4 person apartment was very roomy, with a large bathroom, decent sized double bedroom and a living space with room for two beds, a kitchenette, dining table and sofa/TV space. As we were on the ground floor, we also had the benefit of a small garden area with table and chairs. There was no air conditioning but the thickness of the walls and the number of windows to open made the rooms not too hot. The children loved the outdoor swimming pool to cool off in at the end of each day.

The double bed was very comfortable and the two single beds were a little rickety but not too hard. It was nice not to have to convert a sofa-bed at the end of each day. The kitchenette had a good sized fridge (no freezer compartment), two ring hob, microwave, coffee maker and kettle.

It took about 20 minutes to travel to Disneyland each day. The peage is the quickest, easiest route but costs 2.10 euros. The non-motorway route does not take much longer but at rush hour we did encounter a few queues that way.
