Has anyone ever participated in Dolphins in Depth. Was it enjoyable, worth the money, and/or educational. I am asking this because I am leaving for WDW in less than 30 days. Anyone who can give input about this tour would be greatly appreciated.

It is a great tour and I thought I was worth the price. You learn a lot about dolphins before you "meet" the two residents of Living Seas. The CM leading the tour (for our group) was very informative. I went shortly after it restarted after one of the dolphins died (Toby?). So we asked a lot of questions about how they determine the cause of death and so on.

The time with the dolphins was great. I managed to book a Monday tour, so "Bob" and "Rainer" (I think that's there names?!) were eager to some and "play." The CM said they are not forced to come over; sometimes later in the week they may not be as eager to meet people.

The hardest part of the tour was getting into the wetsuit. Ugh! I didn't realize how unflattering it is until I watched the video on myself. :o Oh well, the time in the water was fun! Be prepared because the water temp is quite cool.

I would highly recommend the tour! But book early -- I think each day's group is limited to only 8 people max and it fills up quickly.

Don't walk, run! This was the absolute highlight of a trip I took a couple of years ago. The tour itself is informative and the interaction, although not guaranteed, is amazing.
When we were taken through the Living Seas pavilion, they made us where lab coats so that we'd stand apart from other guests. I have to admit it gave me a bit of a thrill simply because I got to live out a little childhood fantasy of mine and was viewed as a cast member.
It's the little things folks.

DH and I did this tour in 2001. It was great, definately the highlight of our trip. It was educational and enjoyable. The educational portion really gave me a better understanding of the dolphins, both biologically and psychologically. The time in the water with the dolphins was great. It really made me realize how amazing they really are. If at all possible go on this tour!

Has anyone done this tour as well as Discovery Cove?

I know that there is a $ difference (and 1 ofcourse is not Disney), but I heard that you don't get to swim with the Dolphins.

Thanks.
