Hi I just read on the all ears newsletter that someone had their tour cancelled (to take place in sept) due to the living seas refurb - we have one booked for Nov - (I'm hoping LS may be reopened by then) anyone else had their tour cancelled?

RJ

ive got divequest booked in november for my fiancee. got told by the CM when booking it that it will still be going on. hope it does

Hi Rosie, also wondering here - we've not got the dolphin experience booked but have got an ADR at Coral Reef during the refurb so would like to know if thats going to be worth while as well

I just read on mouseplanet that DiD was closed the week of my tour - so called Disney in a panic and the CM confirmed it was still going ahead...

I think sometimes all these resources we have at our fingertips can be a bad thing :rotfl:

I have sources that work over at the living seas, and they have cancelled all Dolphin tours from Sept 16- Dec. 26, With the exception of the week of Nov1-4 and Nov. 14-18.

Your tour for two guests on Nov 9th has been cancelled, but the reservation people have not been able to contact any UK residents. It would be easier if you called them, and got your refund now, rather than waiting on the reservationists to call you back. This would still give you time to try and book a Discovery Cove dolphin program.

Booked some time ago (from UK) for Dolphins in Depth on 10 Oct. Checked with Disney when news of LS refurbishment came out but they said then it would still go ahead but now it doesn’t look good. Not heard from Disney but will be on the phone tonight to confirm the bad news.

Does anyone know if it is just the Dolphin tours or all the LS tours that are cancelled?

If Sea Aqua is still running (and bookable) I’ve read that you basically float on the surface looking down (using the re-breather). If so is it totally unsuitable for non-swimmers or are you buoyant enough so that you can’t sink even if you tried?

Cheers

You couldn't sink if you tried. But you still need to be able to swim well enough to move yourself around the tank. It would be pretty boring to float in one spot for a half hour.

That's reassuring. Would be OK moving around - just had visions of stopping and going straight down, Titanic style (not so good on treading water). Wasn't sure if there was a requirement to be a good swimmer.

If D In D is a gonner then I might ask if Sea Aqua is available as an alternative although they might not be taking bookings anyway.

Will report back later when I've rang Disney (don't think employer would appreciate a call to USA on work's phone).

At least Discovery Cove booking hasn't been cancelled (yet).

Thanks

Steven,

your tour for oct. 10 has been cancelled also

only the Dolphin tour is cancelled

The aqua tour and Divequest are still open.

Also, DISCOVERY COVE will not be cancelling. They need all the revenue they can get. Hurricane Katrina, that hit New Orleans, and increase in fuel price, has created a decrease in number of people going to the parks. I unfortunately know a few trainers there who have been laid off, because it is so slow.

What do you guys think... Discovery Cove in early November? Too cold?

Anyway... we did the Aqua Seas tour this past May and absolutely *loved* it.

I did the Aqua Seas tour in May also and I also loved it. Can't wait to take my kids and do it next June.

Well I have spoken to Disney and they say they are in the process of contacting those who had booked D in D during the closure period. Have managed to book the "Aqua Seas" tour for the same day (the CM also put through the D in D cancellation to trigger the refund rather than waiting for D in D to contact me). So will still get wet at Epcot (and see the Dolphins at Discovery Cove). Let's hope this is the only hic-cup.

Thanks for all the information guys.

OK Now I'm confused - i called yesterday and they said it was still going ahead!! I was going to ask to swap to the 14th (which DUde has since said is still running) but the CM said that my day was still on
I'll call again tomorrow and see what's changed...

EDITED: Couldn't wait until tomorrow - I just called and although the CM said it was still on at first she went off to check and said yes all tours that week were cencelled.

Luckily they have two spaces on the 14th so I've switched dates (now I have to go re do the intinerary!)

Thanks Dude for the tip off

Once again :disrocks:

Is it likely that the DiD tour will be running in early December?

No problem, I'm just glad you all were able to find out now, rather than the day you arrive.
