Dolphin vs. Yacht or Beach

Which would you pick? A double balcony Resort view at the Dolphin or a Water/Pool view (Stormalong Bay) at the Yacht or Beach. The Dolphin rooms are more affordable but if cost were not a factor, where would you stay?

BC/YC....hands-down!!! Especially if money is no-object.

Yacht club - all the yacht club rooms have full balconies and the pool is great.

If money were no object, I would stay at the Yacht Club. However, the Dolphin gives you a lot more for your money. I personally would be just fine with either.

I appreciate the help. My last stay at the Dolphin was in 1994. I haven't seen any of the renovations first hand. So I guess it comes down to, almost $60.00 savings per night at the Dolphin, EPCOT fireworks balcony view and those heavenly beds vs Disney theming, Stormalong Bay, that great view of the Lagoon and If memory serves, a slightly larger room at the Yacht Club.

I just returned from the Dolphin and was so suprised by the nice stay we had there. I was hesitant because it was not a "Disney resort". Well, I felt like we were right in the middle of the magic. It had great pools, our room overlooked MGM, and it had several places to eat. We took the boat over to Beach Club one night to do there campfire, and we took a boat to Boardwalk to eat one night. I do love the Beach/Yacht club, but honestly I just cannot justify the cost difference between the two. That's just me though. I look at it this way, I paid $179. a night at the Dolphin, and at Beach club I would be paying $400. a night, and if I had a theme park or water view at Beach Club (which I had at the Dolphin) it would probably be $500. a night. So staying at the Dolphin saved us $400.00 dollars that weekend. I also found that the Dolphin was MUCH cleaner than the Disney resorts. We have stayed pretty much everywhere on property and the Dolphin was the cleanest. It was funny, I was talking to a family who visits Disney in June because the Dad always has a conference that time of year. They have only stayed at the Swan and Dolphin because that is where the conference is. Well, this year the Dolphin had overbooked and the family got moved to POFQ for the first three nights. He was telling me how disappointed they were. They thought POFQ was a dump compared to the Dolphin. Now personally I like POFQ. It was funny to listen to his comparisons. Have fun whatever you decide!!!

We love Stormalong Bay -- if money is not important we stay at the Yacht Club!!!

We've stayed at Dolphin and BC and love them for different reasons. You can't beat the beds at S/D, but BC was such a great place to stay!!! BC will be our favorite resort of them all. The location of the BC is great and worth it for the price. It ws so easy to stay there with DD, DD's BFF, and DS. They loved it!!! Dolphin was great too, but it just feels more closed in than BC. BC also has Cape May Cafe breakfast (which is awesome!!) and Art, who is an absolute joy to be around!!!!

Of the three, I would choose Beach Club if money were no object. Since money is always a consideration for me, I would choose Swan/Dolphin. We don't use the pool that much and the location is still fabulous.

Well, if money were no object we'd stay at The Grand Floridian.

But, in terms of your question. We've stayed at the YC once, had many friends that have stayed at both the BC and YC, and ourselves have stayed...lesee...five times now at the Dolphin.

It's just OUR personal opinion, but the rooms tend to be cleaner and the staff friendlier at The Dolphin. Four out of those five times we've been upgraded to rooms with great views. The staff has gone out of their way to help us, and once even sent a *hand written* letter to our home after the trip thanking us for our stay.

I've heard some real horror stories from the YC, including toilets overflowing, and wet carpets that were not taken care off after repeated complaints.

Again, I'm sure this happens elsewhere, but for the time being we are 'Dolphin people'.
