Dolphin Teacher Discount Question

Hey! This is my first post on these boards so here goes...

I'm planning a December 2004 (for New Years) and want to stay at the Dolphin and use the teacher's discount. When does this discount usually become available for December dates? I figured someone in this forum would know!

Basically, your best bet is to call directly and ask. It is available very early. I got my teacher rate for this April last June. Call now and ask.

Hey, we like to be called 'Adjunct Faculty', and it applies to us. My picture ID from my college has Staff/Faculty on it as I'm the mainframe programmer here as well as instructor of various web programming courses, but I bring a copy of a current teaching contract with the financials blacked out and present that and my ID on check-in.

That's what I've done twice and never had a problem.

and book the room with the Teacher discount. You can never tell how many rooms they will hold back for the discount and when the busy times for this will be. We used it when we stayed in November and had a great time. We loved the Dolphin and felt it had as much Disney-feel as any of the other "true" Disney resorts we have stayed out. I would go ahead and join SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) to help with a possible upgrade. You could also get a Starwood AMEX card to earn some more SPG points. We earned enought points to purchase Club Level access which really made the stay extra special.

I have stayed there with a teacher's discount over NYE in 02 and 01 - but we did book about 6 or 7 months in advance. The hotel was full, and we didn't get any upgrades even though I am an SPG gold, but still that HAS to be the best deal anywhere during the holiday.
