I tried looking in the Swan-Dolphin FAQ, but its rather unwieldy.

I've seen some mention about e-mailing room requests prior to checking in. Does this work?

I'm a little apprehensive about my upcoming Dolphin visit because I never got my SPG card, never got a confirmation and still can't seme to get a written confimration that my entire stay is paid off.

So, while I do have a couple of room requests I would like to reitierate, I don't want to waste my time if this method has gone the way of the WL fax.

Thanx.

I just got back last week from 6 nights in the Dolphin. It was great. I called about 2 weeks in advance and requested a room on the 7th floor overlooking Epcot. They honored my request and it was well worth the phone call. We were able to have ice cream in the room on days we went to the parks earley. That was great cause my 3 girls ages 8,6 and 5 were pretty tired at night.

Good luck and have a great trip !!
Steve

P.S. any questions please ask !!

I would suggest filling out the Special Requests form that is on their website. I did this and didnt hear back on the first one so sent another and got a nice email that our requests were noted. Now I dont know what we will get however they do acknowledge that they have them listed.

I will be staying at Dolphin next week and also e-mailed a request but received no answer perhaps I will give them a call. I will let you know how I make out. I also want to let them know will might not be checking in until finish with park stay for the day so might be 10 or 11.

I called yesterday because we check in this next Friday. I had emailed and never gotten a response so I just called and they were great. Now, we will see if I get the requests!

Well, I went ahead and e-mailed my requests this morning and was pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail response this afternoon. I was prepared to wait at least the 72 hours they state on the website, but I haven't had a lot of luck with e-mails with them at all, so to receive a response that quickly boosted my hopes for the place.

I know they are jsut requests and I am one of those people who rarely asks for anything, but since this might be my last trip to wdw for a while, I thought I'd actually try asking for something for once. We'll see how it works out.

Thanks for all the help.

Happy to hear you got a quick response. I also sent a request via their website and hope I get a timely confirmation too.

I included my request on their Website and never received a confirmation. When I arrived, they told me they were noted and that I received exactly what I had requested!

The view of Epcot from my balcony was fabulous!!

Who says that magic doesn't happen at the Swan and Dolphin??

we are spg preferred plus members and it says we get an
upgrade if available upon check in, so do I request something
or wait till I check in? what if they upgrade me to better than
I request?

anyone else have this dilema?

I am Preferred Plus, too and was told that I would get a comp upgrade 'if available'. But, I would rather have the room I want (king, etc) that worry about an upgrade, what I asked for in my request is probably an upgrade, but I was kinda specific as to what I was looking for.

I actually don't care about being upgraded to club level or anything like that I just wanted a specific type of room and view if they could do it.

I to am a spg preferred member. I was able to use these boards and ugrade my membership to gold. I orginally reserved a standard room, but I had accumulated enough points to use for an upgrade. We are not leaving until the end of May, but I went ahead and called last Friday to try and upgrade using my points. The lady at the Dolphin was very nice and told me that I get an upgrade anyway and that I didn't need to use my points. I requested a view of Epcot. I check my confirmation on the spg web site and it now states - "Deluxe Non-Smoking Rm, Resort View With Balcony, Free Highspeed Internet Acces, Armoire/Tv/Stocked Minibar, , View Of The Resort Area And Crescent Lake. The Room Contains Iron & Ironing Board, Coffee Maker, Hair Dryer, Wall Safe."
