I am preparing to fax my room request to the Dolphin. I am getting the government discount and am a Starwoods member (I have 2110 points). My reservation is for a standard view, 2 double beds, up as high as possible.

I would love a balcony room with an Epcot view.

Suggestions on room numbers to request?

Do I really have a chance of getting a balcony room at $129 per night?

Thanks.

We got an upgrade to a balcony even though we only paid the $99 teacher rate in June 2001. We are Starwood members also, so I would say that it is possible if they have rooms available for upgrade.

However, I do believe that the rooms in the main building don't have balconies. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had a balcony room with view of Epcot and loved it. I was staying there on a travel industry promotional rate over the 4th of July a few years ago.

Does anyone have any specific room numbers?

I know the Dolphin FAQ has this but the thread is so huge now, I have not been able to locate this info.

Here is a photo of the view we had from our balcony room, #6025. This was also a non-smoking room.

Room #8025

excellent view of Epcot, MGM, Boardwalk, friendship boats and fireworks everynight

had a balcony, non-smoking room with 2 double beds, one sink in the bathroom
Nice size room for a family of 4. (360 sq ft)

We stayed there this past June/July - at a teacher rate of $179 plus tax ($202 total I think)

We are new Starwood members, so we had no points when we started our vacation.

We are trying to go back Easter 2003 (school vacations).
We asked for no balcony and for a view of the pool.
We were able to get a teacher rate of $154 plus tax ($170.94 total).
I guess we can use our Starwood points for some $$'s off.

We are doing the pool view - b/c my kids were tired of the fireworks
by night 4. They could careless if they had a view of EPCOT or MGM.
They just wanted to know if the pool was crowded and the slide was
functioning.

Try for room #8025 for views and a balcony

Well, if you want a room with a balcony, then that's what you need to reserve. Otherwise, you may be sorely disappointed. Granted, there's a chance of an upgrade, but if your true desire is a deluxe room with a balcony, then I'd reserve one. You can get the teacher rate on "upgraded" rooms as well, which is still a very sweet deal!

We were in room 7174 this past May. An excellent location. It was in the furthest west wing 3/4 of the way down the wing. The first morning we watched (my dd and I) the sun rise over the WS from our balcony. We also had views of the Swan, the Lake, the BW and the WS in EPCOT. Perfect for watching the fireworks.

Another nice thing about this location was it was at the end of the hall so there wasn't much traffic by our room so it was relatively quiet. It was a bit of a walk to the elevators because of that but I didn't mind. Once off the elevators Tubbi's was right around the corner, great for refilling mugs, etc. The pool was just down the hall from there as well.

If the hotel isn't busy you have a chance of getting an upgraded room as long as they're available. Good luck!
