Just wondering if anyone knows the status of the Dolphin Renovation. We will be arriving in 11 days, and last I heard (about a month or two ago), they were up to the 12th floor with the renovations. I am staying at the nurse discount, and would love a renovated room, but don't want to pay extra (I know, I'm cheap!!). The Swan rooms were much more than the Dolphin's, now that they are renovated. If anyone has been there recently, and knows how the renovations are going, I'd love to hear.

Also, I made a "room request", for a room with a view of Epcot, which we had last year for no extra charge. I also asked for a room with a balcony, and they said that this was an extra $50/night charge. I have heard of other people getting an upgrade for no additional cost, and I hoped I would. One year they gave us a VERY large room with a murphy bed and a sleeper sofa. It was the size of two rooms, and we didn't pay anything additional. Every time we have stayed we stayed at the nurse rate, and every time it has been the busy spring break season. I wonder why the difference each time?

hi, we arriving in 37 days (not that we are counting!!) and inquiring minds would also like to know.....any info out there?? thanks in advance

I was on the 9th floor last week and my room was NOT renovated. By peeking into other rooms across the way, they seemed to be up to the 8th floor. The front desk told me that Reservations has been giving out incorrect information to some guests. Even while you're there, no one seemed to know exactly where they were at.

When I called to confirm late arrival, I asked for a smoking room. The reservationist told me that the smoking floor was not renovated yet but she could put me into a renovated room instead if I'd prefer. I'd call a few days before arrival and give it a shot. I had the discounted gov't rate and a SPG card.

Just remember, it never hurts to ask.

Hmmmm, that just gives me ANOTHER great reason to go to WDW......WOOHOO!!:bounce:

We called last week , They said they were up to the 15th floor now.

WOW! This means my floor is completely renovated! One more reason to DREAM of my summer stay!! Thanks for the update. ::yes::

Umm...they may have said they were up to the 15th floor, but that's not precisely true. Perhaps they are renovating selected rooms on different floors, but it is not completed. I was on the 9th floor and the rooms were NOT renovated.

I was told by a Starwood Agent that the Dolphin renovations were to be completed by the end of April. She seemed pretty convinced of that.
ADP :D

I'm just going by what they told me at the front desk at the Dolphin last week and by my own experience. He told me that the reservations people were not giving out the correct information and that they were now projecting that the renovations would not be completed until sometime this summer. My room on the ninth floor was not renovated and looking at other rooms from my balcony (curtains were open during the day and you could see the beds and the pictures on the wall) it appeared as though they had done some of the 8th floor. It may be in different parts of the hotel, they are further along.
