Dolphin Questions

We haven't stayed here in quite awhile! I can get around Magic Bands by linking the tickets to our MDE and buying bands from the Disney Store for those of us that don't have bands. I guess fast passes are 30 days out. Are there any other concerns? Thanks!!

FP+ at the Swan and Dolphin is at 60 days plus length of stay- same as Disney-owned resorts.

It's true you won't get MBs, but you can buy them, like you said. They're available for purchase at the Dolphin. You don't need them though- your ticket will do the same thing as a MB (except long range tracking in the parks).

Magic Bands are cute, but you don't have to buy them if you don't want to. They'll just be your tickets, but you can use your actual ticket as well. No room charges with them at the Dolphin, and they aren't your room key either. Personally, I'm too cheap to buy them, but now I do find them useful as I don't have to pull out my wallet, room key, or ticket all day!

I hope the OP doesn't mind me piggy-backing on her question, but here it goes: So if you buy Magic Bands how do you go about getting them set up to use? Can they be turned in to your room key at the Dolphin? Or can you only use them to pay for purchases?

If you're staying at the Dolphin, you can only use a magic band for your ticket and fast passes. They will not operate as a room key, nor will they work as a payment option. They will just function as a ticket does (the tickets now are RFID chip also). Mostly, they are a souvenir if you're not staying at a Disney-owned resort (which the Swan and Dolphin are not; they lease the land from Disney).

Neither, actually. All they're good for is tickets and FP+. Maybe Memory Maker (that's one limitation in the physical tickets: ride photos)?

I think EMH and free parking access is still via S/D room key.

Once you purchase them, you link them to your MDE account. If you have Park Tickets linked to your MDE account, now your MBs will have access to those tickets.

No.

No, not possible.

Do you set that up at guest services?

Yes, Guest Services can link your MBs to your MDE account. Or you can do it yourself via the website. I've not tried to do it via the App so don't know if that's possible.
