Has anyone done the dolphine encounter at Epcot? I was thinking about doing, but I wasn't sure how much interaction you got with them. Also, I am 14 and I wasn't sure if someone older than 18 had to be there, or did they have to participate? Thanks for any advice/information you can give me. I was going to do a dolphin swim in Cozumel, but Hurricane Wilma wiped it out.... :sad1: Oh well, thanks.

I did the Discovery Cove dolphin encounter, but I've heard that the EPCOT one was awesome. I don't know how old you have to be, but you can go to
Dolphin Encouters

Thanks for the link. It answered some of my questions. I was still wondering, how much dolphin interaction is there?

I haven't done the dolphin encounter at EPCOT, but i am pretty sure that the adult who goes with you does not have to participate...

If your going to do a Dolphin Encounter type thing, do the one at seaworld. I think that not only do you swim with dolphins at the park, but they take you out to the ocean and let you swim with dolphins out there as well. I may be wrong though.

I did Dolphins in Depth. There is a little lecture where they talk to you about the Dolphins Calvin and Rainier and how they teach them to do things. Then they take you down to locker rooms to get dressed in your wet suits over your swim suits. Remember to bring extra underwear for afterwards so you have something dry to wear.

Then they take you into a large tank. You walk out to an area that is kinda like a little beach, only its concrete. Each group of 1 or 2 goes forward with a trainer, they call a dolphin in and you get to do behaviours with him, you can pet him and they take a picture for you.

They tell you not to scream or do anything to freak out the dolphins because they cant make them come to you if they dont want to. We didn't have any problems although my boyfriend at the time lifted the leg of my wet suit and let this cold water in and I screamed and I was afraid the dolphin wouldn't come to me but he did. The boyfriend however....... let's just say I don't have to worry about him doing dumb stuff like that anymore.

You only go into the water up to your hips at most so you don't have to swim or anything. You don't swim with the dolphins but petting them was cool and they are sooooo big. The water part with the dolphins was maybe 30 minutes. About 5 minutes or so with just you or your party.
