Dolphin Help

I don't understand, I went on the Dolphin/Swan website and the recent reviews were terrible. They said it was dirty and rugs coming up. I thought the Dolphin was remodeled. There was not one good review on the rooms at all. Has anyone been there recently? I was thinking of booking the Dolphin for a stay in March 2005, now I'm not sure. It also seems that all the smoking rooms have limited view, does anyone know of smoking rooms with a view?

I cannot address the question about smoking rooms, but I can answer the question about the quality of the rooms. Almost all of the rooms at the Dolphin have been renovated. When you read about "carpet coming up" they are surely talking about the hallways. When we were at the Dolphin in November 2003, the rooms we had on a lower floor (4th or 5th) were renovated beautifully with Heavenly Beds (or their Sheraton equivilent). However the old carpet in the hallway was severely buckled.

When we went back last weekend, we stayed on the 11th floor. The room had been renovated, but again, the hallway had not. This time the carpet in the hallway looked worn, but it was not buckled like on the lower floor.

I believe the Dolphin's 9th floor is the only hallway that has been renovated.

So if the hallways don't bother you, go for the Dolphin! Besides by March 2005, I'm sure they will have started on the hallways.
