Dolphin feedings

Trying to plan my Sea World days and can't seem to find info on approximate dolphin feeding times. Also, how many dolphin feedings you can expect in a given day. I'm actually trying to figure out when I might expect the first dolphin feeding time to be... in order to see if we could make it to the 1st Blue Horizons show of the day.

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks for posting. I have the same question! The last time I was there, it was first thing after they opened and everyone would gather...but, I hear they changed the way they do it.

When I went in November the first feeding was 30 minutes after park opening. One tray of fish has to be bought for every person that want to enter the feeding area. One tray was $ 7. For those, who just want to watch is a different area next to the feeding area.

Last time I was there, the park opened at 9:00 and the first scheduled feeding was at 9:15. Seemed like there was a feeding about once an hour or so. The first one was definitely the least crowded.

I think there is more interaction in the first few feedings than later in the day, too.

Then we high tail it over to the first Blue Horizon show. Can't remember getting good seats after first feeding-I think we went way up to the top. BH is better when you are lower cause the roof gets in the way.

the pretty much do continuous feedings through out the day. But occasionally take 15-30 min breaks every couple of hours.

If you don't do the feedings, plan on playing the patience game to be able to touch the dolphins. I've been going over in the afternoon and spending an hour or more there. Sometimes it's right when I get there, sometimes it's after an hour. If you don't want to deal with the waiting game, or the feeding, stick to the under water viewing, or else you'll have whiny kids that don't want to leave until they touch one.

Just stick to the stingray lagoon. It's easy to touch them. Although they're a bit slimy, dolphins are rubbery.

We just returned and went to Sea World this past Sunday. The park opened at 9 and feedings started at 9:15. My kids aren't fans of slimy fish so we wandered down to watch the feedings. We were super close and the dolphins came right up to us looking for food. We watched the feedings from a prime location without the added expense. I haven't uploaded my photos yet, but we got some great ones at the feedings. So - even if you don't feed them, head over there to view it as soon as the park opens!
