We are planning to do the Dolphin encounter at Nassau on our own. My only question is how do we get to where the terminal where the ferry takes off? I asked the company and she said that there were water taxi's we can take. When I asked her how do I get ahold of them to make reservations to pick us up and bring us back, she said she THOUGHT that you can just pick them up there without reservations. DO any of you know about transpertation to the boat terminal? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Paradise Island, where the casinos are and where the ferry to Blue Lagoon Island is, can be reached by boat or by car from where the ships dock in Nassau. It is connected to Nassau by a bridge. The water taxi's or the regular cabs are available. You will have no problem getting transportation to the ferry location.

No, there are lots of them waiting for you at the port, or you can take the ferry that is right there as well.

You can take a taxi for $5/person + $1 bridge toll. They will
drop you at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal where you can check in. You will take a Ferry to Blue Lagoon Island. There is no charge, it is included in your ticket. Remember to stay on the ferry when you come back from Blue Lagoon Island. They will make a 2nd stop back at the cruise ship dock, so you can avoid paying for a cab ride back.

We made a deal with the taxi driver.... $15 for 6 people......

We are also doing the encounter on our own but have 1 question.. Do you have to return immediately after the encounter or can you stay, if you wish, to enjoy Blue Lagoon...Is there any other way back than this ferry?

Thanks

I was thinking of booking the dolphin encounter, and was wondering why you choose to do it on your own.

$75 or $100+ same excursion

Yes, I booked our on our own. Disney charges $118 per person, and $88 per child. Dolphin encounters charges $75 per person, period. Not only that, my mom just wanted to watch and not get in with the dolphins, and they offer an observer at $20, so she can just stand on this thing and watch and take pictures. I could not believe how much cheeper it was, and not only that, I fell into doing it on my own because Disney was sold out of them for our trip. A blessing in disquise. Im looking forward to it. My DD 4 will love it.
