Dolphin Encounter "upgrade"

I as going to book the dolphin swim directly with www.dolphinswims.com but the times I wanted were sold out. I have heard that if you do the dolphin encounter with disney you are usually (always?) offered a chance to upgrade to the full swim program.
Does anyone know if this is always or most of the times the case?
Or is it just when they have openings?

Hi! They do offer an upgrade if space is available. Last August, there was no spaces availble. Believe me- I asked. It is not "always". Just a chance you take. Good luck!
