Can anyone who has done the dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon give me some info. Would you recommend this for a 6 year old boy. Is it worth the $?

We booked ours at

www.dolphinswims.com

and got it cheaper and could book our time slot.

My 6 y/o loved it!..... I can send you photos if you email me.

We enjoyed the dolphin program in Nassau, though it's not something I'd choose to repeat on every cruise -- I would probably do it again when my girls are teens since they'd see it differently at that point. My 6-year old was frightened by the dolphins (so was another girl her age); however, she is on the timid side.

The boat ride to and from Blue Lagoon was very unpleasant. We were the last ones to board on the way over, and we didn't get seats -- we had to stand for the whole 45 minute ride. On the way back we were inundated with smokers.

Do get the first time slot for the dolphin encounter and plan to stay on Blue Lagoon island for a while after the program. It's beautiful, and you'll enjoy it! You do not need to pay for a second excursion -- you'll already be there.

MrsPete,
I am curious about your reply. My 10-dd and I are doing the dolphin encounter on our Feb.26-28 cruise and I booked directly and not through DCL. I was only given 2 slots to choose from because the rest was reserved for DCL guests. The first one was 8:30am and I was told we would not even be in the port by than. The second was 4pm which I have reserved. I also booked the Blue Lagoon Family Beach day. So are you saying I do not have to do this excursion because I will already be there? What about lunch; will I just have to buy it? Do you suggest I cancel the beach day for my dd and I and only keep reservation for the other 3 in my family? This is very interesting.
Thanks in advance.

I just booked the blue lagoon trip for my family. I saw somewhere that you could return at 2:00 or 4:00. That would mean the Disney blue lagoon boat would be leaving during your time slot with the dolphins at 4:00.

Maybe the dolphin encouter would return you to paradise island and then you could take the water taxi back to the ship?

This is just a guess:confused:

We were in the last group that DCL booked. I had booked the Dolphin Encounter on my own. We were in a large group and you could not tell who booked thru DCL and who booked on their own.

I thought we were going back to the same place we got on the ferry, but they made an announcement for cruise guests to stay on.

After a few people got off at the paraside island pier (where we got on) the ferry went back to where the Wonder was.

So yes, you can get a ride back to the ship on the ferry....
